    Howdy...I ride that canyon all the time. Rattlesnake is a great loop all the way to Big Bear or you can go left (east) at the top and do a loop. I am currently on a 500 but close to selling and buying an 890 Adventure R. Just decided its time to go adventure bike. Looks like it will be perfect for desert as I have a vacation home right over by the Hammers area and ride out there all the time. Great video!

    Nice ride up the canyon, what wind screen is that? Also if your in the Laughlin area it would be great to do a ride. I just moved to Nevada from Alaska and am enjoying the desert.

    Nice. Just bought a 790r. I know rattlesnake canyon, the dirt that goes to pioneer town. Rode many times on a xr650r. I used to have a 950 ktm, did that area b4. Have to see what the 790r can do!

    Hello Its Glen from Quebec City Canada. I just bought the 790 adventure R 2021 just signed the papers and will get it in February 2021. I am a sold KTM guy as i have had many so far XCW200, XCW 350 2 of them, and my last bike that i just traded in was the EXCF450 Sixdays Spain! I really like your videos and the riding out in your neck of the woods is much different than our riding here in the East. I do have a few questions and i hope you can lead me in the right direction? First , the little add on windscreen that is on your bike, where did you get it?? second , the mount for your cell phone, did you buy the KTM GPS mount and then you hooked up you phone to it ? or is it some other way that i dont know about?
    thanks if you can get back to me. Safe riding !!

    The reason I'm asking cuz I'm 6ft and I like the 1290 S.A.R than but I don't wanna regret buying cuz maybe it would be harder to maneuver than 790 A.R... also not pure off road as im gonna use it for traveling.

    My 790R finally arrived to the dealer. Picking it up this Saturday. Can't wait. Nervous about riding in sand though. I live in Michigan and we have a lot of trails with fine sand. Any tips for riding in the sand with a bike this "heavy"?

    • @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel
      @TheOffRoadAdventureChannel  4 роки тому +2

      First of all, congrats brother!! Your going to love the heck out of this bike! I've spent most of my life in sand, and it's what I'm most comfortable in.. lol
      Honestly the old saying always works for me, when in doubt throttle out. Also, I always stay seated and keep me weight towards the rear 1/4 of the seat. Don't keep a death grip on the grips, and don't fight with the bike too much when it wants to shake its head. Light on the counter steering and heavy on the gas. I've been keeping it in Rally mode 24/7 street and dirt... have a ton of fun and be safe 👌💪

    Last off road bike i owned was an XL250 and last bike was a Suzuki GS1100G. Long time. Thinking about a bike and wanting to do some dirt roads maybe.
    So, Africa Twin, CB500X or this? I'm kind of old and decrepit but would still like to get out. Retired now at 64, would this be too much? Would it be good for Las Vegas riding? Just trying to get back into this and don't own a bike currently.

    @theoffroadadventurechannel great footage and some epic sounds from that arrow exhaust! If you like the TKC80’s and you’re hitting more aggressive off-road/sandy stuff, definitely look into the MotoZ Tractionator (especially the Desert H/T) or the less aggressive Rally version. Both much more dirt bike style tread and knobs than the Michelin’s. I ride with a bunch of 790’s in southwest Texas and the Motoz’s are on all the bikes. (Including my 890 ADV-R and my Husky 350!) Keep up the vids, great to see these bikes roaming their natural terrain!

    Awesome 👍 love it. What handguards do you have? I was thinking barkbuster handguards with blinkers for my bike. I have the tail tidy coming in soon. Wanted to get rid of stock blinkers front and back.
    Your exhaust sounds great washes out the mechanical engine sound. I have an Akrapovic slip on exhaust still can hear engine noise that's ok didn't like the bulky stock exhaust. The sound did improve once I installed Rottweiler performance power plate which I highly recommend. It certainly keeps dust out of airbox. I have plenty of upgrades on the bike to many to list. Happy riding and stay safe.

    • @progammler
      @progammler 4 роки тому

      AFAIK the KTM power part handguards are rebranded barkbusters. I bought barkbusters and while they mount just fine and have proven to be strong the plastics are too close to the levers and I find myself hitting it when every now and then when reaching for the clutch. If they ever break I guess I'll go for enduro engineering handguards (which are less expensive as well)
