Steps To Perform The Repair
1. Remove old connector by applying flux and low melt solder and heating with hot air gun.
2. Clean solder pads by applying flux and low melt solder. Go over with solder wick to remove solder.
3. Position new connector.
4. Apply flux and start applying solder to each pad.
5. Check to make sure there is a good connection with solder pad and connector by using a needle.
6.Clean the area with isopropyl alcohol.

After doing more research, I understand what is going on here but am still curious. Could you tell me what kind of flux you are using and the proper temp of the soldering iron for a repair like this? Also, what type of solder do you use to solder in the new FPC connector?
