How do you feel about temperature blankets? Let us know below
WOW ! I see this is 3 years ago, but you have really helped to inspire me to try later this year to try from my 49th year to my 50th year in Canada from October 13th this year to the same date next year, when I will be 76, it’s going to be fun this year thinking about the colours, possibly putting on a sparkling gold edging, and using it for our anniversary and two birthdays. Some sort of special colour for our four son’s birthdays or maybe just staying with gold for those special days , so it’s not too much ❤
It’s definitely not just you! I get ridiculously excited about the changes in mine so far. Like ‘Look mom I get to use Blue Heather! Woot!’
Nice to see people doing it in the uk, im thinking of doing a temperature scarf instead 🥳
Starting mine january 2024. Thanx for the tips
I love the idea of granny squares instead of a pile of rows for my temp blanket.
Thanks. I definitely preferred this method and the outcome
Im just started with my temperature blanket from my birth year. I’m making granny’s with the middle the high temperature, the second row the average, third row is the low and then I do white for my borders and month separate are multicolor yarn. For my sister I make one for her graduation year in blue and grey tones she chose the colors herself for it. For my son i made one for the first 6 months of his life.
That all sounds amazing! I hope they turn out beautifully. Follow me on instagram/Facebook and send me updates. I'd love to see them
Marvelous video an excellent advice you’ve given me the push to start it. Thank you.
Glad I found your video as this year is my first year of making a temperature blanket and you've given me so many great tips. I'm making mine using solid granny squares with the lowest temp in the middle and the highest temp around the outside.
Your chart idea is a godsend.
Love the idea of doing minimum and maximum temps in each square. Did you go left to right and then right to left on the next row, or left to right on every row?
Even though I have no interest in actually doing a temp. Blsnket, I have to admit that they fascinate me. I love seeing how different each one is… thanks for the interesting video… Good luck❤
Glad you enjoyed it. It's great to have you here
Bless you
Hello! I'm inspired to crochet a temperature blanket with granny squares also ! I'm trying to figure out how much yarn do i need ... How much yarn did you use for the color that joins the squares ? Thanks for sharing your tips! Have a nice day
Just seen this. I'm going to be starting 2! I'm doing one for my nan as a Christmas present (2023) with weather from her and my granddads birth year, and another for my boyfriend as its our 10 year anniversary next year 😬
Aww that's so lovely. I'm sure they'll absolutely love them! Follow me on Facebook and/or Instagram and send me photo updates. I'd love to see how you get on
Hi! I'm new to crochet (and now a new subbie!!). I wanted to know about the pattern for your granny square. Do you have a tutorial or written pattern for purchase?
How did you put your squares together? Did you one line with the squares of January and then February or did you mix?
I’m a beginner and would love to do a granny square temperature blanket. Do you do a square every day and do you attach the squares together as you go so you don’t forget which colour goes where? Thanks for a fab informative video Louise 😘👍🏼 x
Hi. I did one square fore each day of the year plus a blank one between each month to break it up. I attached them as I went along to keep them in the right order but also, the idea of joining them all in one do at the end didn't't sound fun! Good luck with yours! Let me know how you get on with it
Last night I actually had a dream that I got to add a new color on my temperature blanket
Haha! Hannah, that's amazing! Definitely the kind of thing I would do. Hope you get to add a new colour soon
I'm new to this but I want to do a blanket for each year my kids were born then on the date of there birthday that color would be either gold or the color of there birth stone for that row only any tips
Very Interesting. I'm interested but I'm in the middle of finishing projects.
You can start a temperature blanket whenever you’d like. You can look back at temperature if you decide to start one when you’re ready. Good luck!
I'm really wanting to make a temperature blanket starting Jan 1st. So I'm searching UA-cam for ideas. I'm stuck on colors. I have Googled charts and so many of them have great colors but I am trying to keep it simple ... I live in MN and MN weather is all over the place. Like Sept this year we had 90° days and 30° days. Should be an interesting blanket lol
I'm excited for you. I started by deciding how many colours I'd need and picked ones I liked. Then go from there. Good luck!
@@TheMakerOnTheMove thanks! I will do that 😀
I think in the future when I have a bit of time to plan it out I might want to do a temperature snake
That sounds like so much fun!!! Would love to see it. Good luck
Like a Yo-Yo motif?
Hi! I know it has been long since you made this blanket. But may i pls know what was the finished size of the blanket?
I am wanting to try a granny stripe, using worsted 4. Will this stitch be to big for a temp blanket?
Hi! It will be pretty big but it depends how you do it. If you do a row per day then yes, it’ll be huge. But, it’s your blanket so you can make it any size you want
Fab video Louise and I’m now inspired to knit one (I don’t crochet) and my head is buzzing with ideas. Daft question - where did you get your temperatures? Did you record temperatures yourself or did you use Met Office charts? Did you record for Sutton or the UK?
Hi Jo. Love to hear that you’re thinking of starting a blanket. I used timeanddate.com. You can type in your postcode and it gives you the closest weather station. I think I used Mildenhall Air Base as their information was very accurate. You can find one closest to you. Hope you get on ok with yours. I can’t wait to see it
Where did you look for the temperatures?
Hi. I looked on timeanddate.com but there are lots of places online
Just wondering if you are starting a crochet blanket for 2022?
Not this year I'm afraid. I'm so busy at the moment. Will you be starting one?
@@TheMakerOnTheMove yes I am but not sure how I’m going to crochet it yet. I’m keeping record of high and low of each day though.
@@korenelord6755 There are lots of different options and it won't take you long to catch up so I'm sure it'll be great. Good luck with it!
I can't find your Instagram name
Hi. The instagram name has changed. It's now @themakeronthemove. It's great to have you as part of the community
Interesting project idea and I like your thoughts on it. I've got to say though, that loud popping sound effect you use every time you make a point is extremely jarring. I almost couldn't make it through the video because of it.
