When rolling, you can also put pieces of timber same sizes each side of the clay so when you roll, it will be evenly rolled all over

My daughter is coming in the morning to work with clay with me. Our first time working with clay and we are learning together. I bought each of us DAS. We will work separately of course in the same room. She has to sit since she has cervical cancer and her bottom hurts a lot. Im 74 and i will stand but i will have to sit and rest and sit and rest. Lol wish us luck. Im not sure what to make my very first time. I dont need a little dish since i wear no rings. I would like a little dish with a lid to store things i make with paper. Ok im boring myself. Lol thank you for this lovely video. I learned very much. I think u are in Canada from your words. Lol

    Hi,
I made a ceramic chess set 30 years ago and my son found the ceramics moulds and bought them for mother's day for me.
The moulds are made of plaster of Paris and are for ceramics.
I would love to make more chess sets for my other son's, but I am not sure what sort of clay/product to use.
As I have no way to fire greenware/ceramics in a kiln, what would you recommend I could use that doesn't need firing and the plaster moulds can be used again?
The product needs to be a liquid/ slip to work and needs to not damage the moulds and release easily from the moulds.
What type of paint would you suggest to use on the product you recommend?
The paints I used on the ceramics were acrylic and then varnished them.
    Thank you for your time.

Hi Omar, if you're making flowers I would suggest using gum paste/flower paste. Although edible you can varnish it to keep it for a long time afterwards
