My video did freeze a couple of times, but it gets better. Keep watching. And I think my puffs looked cuter in person. 💗Register for the How to Heal From a Toxic Job Masterclass on Sunday, October 27th from 5 to 7pm ET here: vaycarious.com/healing

I worked at a job where the supervisor constantly picked at me for no apparent reason. She called me into the office and said that I wasn't friendly enough. I transferred to another job and got treated much better. Also, in these jobs the conversation for black women are personal questions about your life.

I worked at a DC lawfirm where I was constantly bullied by my Supervisor (black woman). She kept calling me into her office out of the blue and told me one day, "you have an air about yourself". So glad I am no longer there. It was like childish High School Musical. I hope somewhere down the line, she got her karma.

I tried my best to work in the corporate workspace after college. I even tried to work at MIT and it was so rough. I lived in Boston. I tried working for the United Way in Boston and it was so racist. The team of white girls at the United Way were horrible. I even tried being a Dental Assistant and the Spanish girls in Boston were hateful. Being an entrepreneur is hard and I’m also a caregiver now at 50.. so I have no benefits no savings but I feel so much freedom. I would love to travel the world and get married again while building up my nest egg to retire when I’m in my late 70s using my military benefits. During Covid, I decided to travel when wow airlines came out with $99 in international flights. At least once every other year, I go overseas by myself so I can do whatever I want to with no one saying they are scared to do this or go there. I just travel and have a good time not even knowing the language barrier because there’s always someone who knows English

They don’t want us… they only see us as a threat… we need to start looking out for each other like they look out for themselves!

Ive been working since I was 13 yrs old. Now, im 47 and the last two years of working have been horrible. The last two years have also been the first time that my immediate managers have been white women. Currently, based on this conversation, my job is toxic. However, i have participated in gossiping about the managers. This conversation is for me. Thank you.

This video was personal for me. I quit my toxic job this week. It's still fresh & I still feel a bit numb. You both are right though, Before I made the decision to leave and came to my senses, I thought, I am not going to let them run me out.

My new job has me ready to stop by the dispensary for some edibles and 💨. I've been there almost 90 days. I'm looking for a new job already.

How do you recover when someone is bullying you at work in your place of living? Being left out....being belittled....talked down to and then informing you you have to take on additional roles for low pay?

I really care about working abroad. I worked so long all I care about is traveling. Any new job or service will have to come with traveling around the world.

I could not remain in my toxic job long enough to find a new one before I left. How do I answer the question "why did you leave your last job" during an interview?

I had a co-worker, a black woman, whose water broke at work, she was full term, they put her in a cab to go to the hospital.
I’m with you Stephanie, I have taken full advantage of family leave. I found the Clinton presidency stressful due to all the scandals, way too much drama, but I will forever be grateful to him for the family leave act

Oh my God! The covert toxicity, sabotaging unspoken mobbing is unbelievable. In my case the people are either white or foreign. I didn't even deal with this nonsense in high school. Thank you for truly this validation.
