It looks really good! Another cool thing you can do (if you dont mimd darkening the leather a little) is using an antique gel. It will darken the scratches and blend them in.
Thanks. Yes that would work, but I think most people that restore a vintage leather jacket, want all those scratches and patina.
You've done a good job with the restoration!
Thank you!
Great video as always ❤
Thank you!
Great video and awesome looking jacket!
Thanks!
Great Video. I think yours is the only one like this.
I also like and have used Pecards on my Old Leather Jackets. I like Pecard Brown Tint Conditioner also if you want to cover some of the wear. It comes in Black also. On Fadora Lounge Forum Some people use Obenauf’s LP.
I researched for hours about leather care. Even though Pecards made with Food Grade Petroleum big debate if safe for leather.
You found a beautiful jacket. Thank You for Posting.
Thank you, I've used both but keep coming back to Pecards Antique. I've never tried the tinted but that probably would help if you wanted an even color.
That jacket is 😍
It really did come out great, better than I thought it would.
👌🏼
Thanks!
I don't ever wipe peccard off. I let it soak in.
You can totally let it soak in, but if you apply it heavily you might still need to get the edges and seams
@@derekdoeschannel that is where you need it most actually
How do I get dark blue ink pen satins out of my brown jacket the same color as this one?
Probably can’t if it’s leaked ink. Maybe try restating the area with a similar color but it might just be permanently stained blue.
Great video. Quick question. So I should do nothing if I purchase brand new horsehide jacket? Just wear it for some decades and then condition it?
Thanks. If your jacket is new, just wear it. Let the weather beat it down for a few years, then you can condition it. New Horsehide is already conditioned and oiled so nothing to do but enjoy it!
@@derekdoeschannel Thank you!
What would old leather be? +10 years?
10 would be the earliest. I’d say 30+ as good leather has lots of oils in it so it can age decades.
Thank you very much! @@derekdoeschannel
It's not in bad shape. Considering it's from the 30's.
No it's not bad at all. Definitely wearable.
