13:48 at your size is something to admired
thank you!

exactly that's making progress
Reminder that this is just the test to qualify to be assessed. Then if you pass that assessment you can actually start getting training. Those guys are monsters
Not only that this guy didn’t go through OSUT and lose all his muscle gains before hand.
You should see some of them right after this pt test doing psych testing, both physically and mentally dead 😂

You don't want to show up to SFAS with beach muscle. You want to be farm strong with 11B Recon or Ranger Regiment legs.
I came from over 4 years in multiple Infantry Units and Long Range Surveillance, so SFAS was actually really fun for me.
you have my respect
thank you 🙏
Saw you at the swcs dfac last month, knew something like this was on the way
The only thing that could get me into a dfac again would be being able to meet this man

I'm retired Army, and it was never my desire to go this route, but let me say that I have the utmost respect not only for those who made it through selection, but also those of you who tried but didn't make it through. I admire the guts you have to even try.

If you can’t do it…then who can.
You can do it…I believe in you 🙋♀️👍
13:48 is pretty freaking amazing! Great job! Youre in good shape, especially for bigger guy like you (taller and buffer built)
No its not
@@jasonshink6589for someone his size it’s pretty impressive. For SF it’s probably average but still impressive nonetheless given how big he is.
More of these!!! So motivating!
Bro I was a corpsman and I remember having to do the Army jump school PT test before I left pndleton then the Friday before school started then the Monday the school started. Those army dudes hated us so much they would count zero 100 times
No no no my friend. That's the 41 club. Bullshit I know. However they have soooooo many swingin dicks and clips show up for Jump school. So they fail people on purpose. Met a bunch of Marines that were sold dudes. Don't feel bad bro. Happens to the best. Even what dude is doing. There are fellas his size and probably as intelligent. They are called 21 day non select.
They did this with everybody 20 years ago. They didn’t start saying no until after your 10th push-up- because at that point it’s a failure and not a restart. You had to be able to do about 60 push-ups to be able to complete the minimum 42 very rigid all the way up and all the way down push-ups. They would usually do it to cut down the size of the class when they were overbooked in the summer (at least that was the general consensus). Right or wrong we labeled those guys as badge protectors. It paid off to be in the front of the line and get tested before they started thinking about the class size!
Army doc here, they didnt count about 15 or 20 of my pushups either, the blackhats are always anal about form, pro tip: go airborne during the summer, they dont run you everywhere if its heat cat V.
All true answers gents.
@@edwards99 maybe they did bro. I know they did that with non Army guys since the I was told the army guys hated the Marines and Sailors that went thru so they would fail some very fit guys
Brilliant the competition is so high I’d say they’ll only look at scores well above the expected, respect, amazing!
When I went to pre ranger you had to run 7 miles 7 minutes a mile in jungle boots.....drop out of 2 runs your gone.thats how we did back in the mid 80's
You’re so cool 🙄
Stick around for the Star Course and Down Pilot and get back to us.
Remember this is the MINIMUM requirements to start selection, which AA crushed.
With all due respect sir fly high!! 🤙🏽
🤙🏾 that was awesome
Salute sir good job 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Those Green Berets, there real badasses!!
But you sir are a beast of a man and a proud green beret for sure

I went to basic with Relation. Lol. He was our platoon guide. Great guy.
Im gonna need to know your work out routine because gyatttt dayum!!! Im tryna get like you man

This is my warm up everyday
Just had a timed mile at 15 total minutes and you’re whooping me at two miles 😂 Jesus and you’re huge! Good job broski
Army would love to have ya!
I'm currently recovering from a broken back, but hopefully I can still join up once I'm better. I really just don't want to be a failure.
What a coincidence I’ve been talking about this now I have an idea what to expect to pass the physical training test generally gets me excited
That shredded tire pit at camp mackall gives me flashbacks. That shit got hot in the summertime
Good luck sweetie
I see the log pit got a face lift since ‘10 . Carry on candidate.
Shipping out for army basic in October
The best of luck to you. I'm retired Army, and I admire and respect anyone who wants to step forward and earn the uniform. Give it everything you've got and keep a good attitude, in the long run, it pays off.
Im shipping out myself in like a week. Good luck to you!
@jd_geo2206 best of luck to you as well. Serve proud!
You’re going there on a ship!?
Best of luck. Thank you for willingly signing up to protect those of us who aren’t able to serve but wish they could ( like myself ) I was 18 days away from my enlistment date and was paralyzed @24. Guess God just had a different war for me to fight!! Be safe and watch your 6!
Let’s go, hooah! 🦾
You are go at this station. Move ahead to the selection stage.
When your pull ups get weak, you should move your hands inward so that your arms are more vertical and rely on some biceps
I miss that place 💪
Dang that's good
Beast
you are
Sgt Relation...that's badass
Please share your workout routine! I am considering SF
Good to also note in SOF meeting the standards is failing and exceeding the standards is the baseline
He is very nice Alexander
Be success all🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Really Impressive. Definitely the actual selection process would be just a liiiiittle bit more challenging. Still awesome tho
The selection PT isn’t the issue. Even for SEAL’s if you are reasonably fit. It’s all about mental durability to sustain and graduate.
When I went through everyone was in shape . And half of us made it
It’s called the ASF and it’s an subdivision in the Army Special Operations Command
I’m serving the military in another country too and I can complete this test. If it is for special forces then I’m proud of myself
I can’t even do one pull-up hahahaha
When can we get the full video? 🤩
it's coming soon!

Austen did you ever consider going to BUDs while you were in the Navy?
Or even going Army to go to SFAS and become a Green Beret?
I can do all of it but the run. My cardio needs work but I was expecting it to be vastly harder.
The PT minimum is always low for special operations test but they want you way above the minimum if you’re performing the minimum or slightly higher you pretty much don’t stand a chance
My best friend was special forces he was in 75th Ranger regiment and then became a Green Beret in 101st airborne. I miss him so bad😢
I only train dead hang pullups very nice
Do the Australian SFET next. You're going to love the 3.2km run on that one.
I’m in best armed forceman in history. I served 8 years in the U.S. Army.
Nice
I aspire to get there one day hooah🇺🇸
I might do my packet this year
Yeah I was thinking when u said 41 push ups at fort liberty we are expected at least 61 in our platoon
My asthma would be killing me
I have a friend who did the course, broke his foot during. Tried to keep going but they made him drop with the injury. As soon as he could he did it again and became special forces
How should I prepare for this test? I want to be a green berrete but am not sure if I have that kind of athleticism 😅
nice 🎉
Do you recommend any starting routine distances for running? I know one mile is going to kill me haha
Remember all the special operations training is not always about begin fit, begin fit is one thing but the first thing is all mental. Your goal in the special operations community is earning that Green Beret, Maroon Beret, Black Beret, or getting that scroll. That’s your goal and mission, reach for those beret think about the beret, don’t think about home think about home you fail, think about the beret putting yourself first for the beret is the only way for you to succeed. These are the words that have said by many many ex special operations units who have gone through it. Yeah it sucks but remember everybody is sucking with you, work as a team you live, work alone, you die alone, you always fail. You may not like that person but work together you’d make it out alive, if these guys can do it so can you. Keep your head in the game and don’t think about home ever, mission is always first family second
When the “knife and fork” work against you..
What works for me..
Cycling every nite 10miles ✊🏻down 70 lbs
Mad respect ftom Maine. 13:13 was my 2 mile time in basic at 19 yrs old but i was a smoker but thats awesome what you fid as i was only 165 lbs. Mad respect
Hey can you try do P company the ultimate fitness test
That 2 mile time is legit
No it's not
I went through in '92. It was a "gentleman's course" then but it also required a swim in BDU uniform with boots. The swim stopped a LOT of candidates.
Still have to do the swim…
@@Robert_H_Diver I would hope they kept the swim test.
they need to up the PT test
Those are the minimums. To be competitive you have to score way higher. All because you pass the initial PT test doesn't mean you earn your spot in the class
Good job Austin Alexander ❤️❤️💋🇱🇷🇱🇷🇵🇭🇵🇭💋🌏🙏☝️
Take the ranger fitness test
There is power
The pt run tail there has to be short by .4 at least. I didn’t my run portion in an 11:20 and my pr for a 2 mile before that was 12:10 for a 2 mile lol
💯❤
Austen is an athlete.. I'm sure he could be jn one of the branches special forces groups no problem
Just for anyone wondering, if you can't pass this test easily, you won't make it through the SFPC aka the Q Course.
Camp McCall fun times
I’d hate to be this guy god damn, the arms work outs are easy until pull ups. I know my chest would be shredded by that point. And the two mile run with an average of less than 7 a mile is beyond my understanding. I’d probably fail the pull ups cause my max is 15 and that’s with a fresh set of arms. Dude is a beast
When is the full video coming out?
Soon! I don’t have a solid date yet
I broke a proper sweat taking a dump this morning
decent that
13:48 damn ! My fastest time was 14:30 and I remember I ran like I died for that shit, eyes tearing up from the cold and I sprinted the last quarter of the run
I still might go marines after college get that officer title
