Met him five days before 9/11 signing his Blues book at Virgin MegaStore in NYC. A real English Gentleman! I reminded him of the July 1,1966 Stones performance at Steel Pier in the Marina Ballroom in Atlantic City which I attended. He remembered the venue because it was such an unusual place to play - next to the Diving Horse!
I didn't know Bill Wyman was this good I'm almost 70 and I've been listening to them for over the better part of 50 years isolating put drum and bass highlights Wyman and Watts talents. GREAT FIND. THANK YOU.
Search for “isolated bass gimme shelter” and “remastered bass tone gimme shelter”. One is just bass, the other is a version of the whole mix but with the bass cranked up. That song will never be the same for you.
@@MySundin13 True, Keith played bass on the recordings of several Stones songs, but a relatively small number and definitely not on this one. According to the Rolling Stones website, this was one of the last songs that Bill played bass on before leaving the stones. In later years, Bill got sick of waiting for Keith to show up to the studio after midnight, so Keith ended up doing the bass himself. On other songs Keith decided he could do a better job than what Bill had already recorded, and usually what he came up with was not as good as Bill’s version, according to Glyn Johns. But Keith is a good bass player. He’s probably the best imitator of Bill around.
@@MySundin13 Nope, just look at the liner notes. If Keith, Little Mick, or Ronnie (or in the post-Bill years, Mick) played bass on a track it will say so. For instance, Ronnie had some great bass lines like "Dance"; Taylor played on "Tumbling Dice", and Keith played on "Live With Me." Mick played bass on several tracks on A Bigger Bang.
This sounds like Keith played the bassline on the record. Id check guys. Many tracks by the Stones list Keith as the bass player on the track in the album liner notes
Bill Wyman is a monster and he's so underrated.

I was just thinking that I would love to hear isolated bass and drums for Miss You.
I don't know if they exist. maybe if you search
@@Achilleas2019I did search, and I found a couple. But the sound quality on this one is better.
apparently they are old recordings that are not easily reproduced. Good luck anyway. if you find something... post it .
This would make a great soundtrack to an action movie.

It's got a rocky bounce to it very likeable and rhythmic too! Great playing Bill and Charlie quite the duo. All stylized for Mick, Keith and Ronnie.

I hear a real Sly and Robbie influence in this groove and approach. Good stuff...
Wyman and Watts were way before Sly and Robbie. Bill and Charlie were the influence.

Even Mick Taylor bass on Tumbling Dice.
