One thing almost nobody comments on is the Box art for all of the 2025 releases. It is some of the best that I have ever seen since the Great Roy Cross era.
Kudos to the Team at Airfix, what fantastic releases for this year - well done and can't wait to get my hands on the new Gannet and jag :) There will always be moaners, but Fantastic, Well Done :)
I think this year’s Airfix releases are wonderful..People wanted a jag in 1/48 and Airfix heard.!.I think a new line of new tooled Harrier’s would storm it.!.The Kinetic 1/48 harriers are a tough build and a new tool range would sell,I believe.. Great video chat,as ever..Thank you and all the best from Blighty🇬🇧👍
Hi, jamie. i think airfix has bought some fantastic kits out this year. i for one will buy the b-24d and the jaguar and the TS9, but it would be cool to have a 48th hampden this year. Cheers, Gary, uk 🇬🇧
I was really pleasantly surprised by the T.9, been on my wish list in 48 for years. And the Jag is very welcome of course. And unlike yourself the Stalwart has been on my wishlist for some time too. I'm a very happy camper

You referred to your check ride. What did you and are flying? I was a Navy pilot. Flew the Intruder and Viking. Retired from Delta during Covid. Really like the program.
Hi Paul, I was a navy fighter pilot too; Tornado F3 (exchange), Hawk (Aggressor) then went rotary for a change, Lynx, and since then I've been an IP. Now I'm on the PC-21 in Saudi as a contractor. I expect you're looking forward to the new Trumpeter Vikings? Chuffed you like the channel shipmate.
@@thescalemodellingcafe Indeed. The new Trumpeter Intruder A-6E TRAM arrives today! 😎. After my A-6 Desert Storm tour I wanted to do an exchange tour to fly Tornados with the RAF but that billet was taken. The Luftwaffe tour was open but the language training scared me away. Something I’ve always regretted. 🫤. Thanks for the information. In addition to my scale model hobby, I’m building a replica Sopwith Camel in my garage. If I can find a hanger I might finish it in 2025.
Obviously not in your orbit, but the high satisfaction quotient for me comes from , apart from the obvious which you mentioned, the wide range of genres in the rereleases; Space ships, 1/72 scale boats, 1/48 airfield support vehicles to name but three. Good show, Airfix, something for everybody. As you said though, a new-tool 1/72 Halifax and Stirling are overdue but hey, maybe next year.
Interesting comment from Dale in an interview, that the TR.9 came first and the Mk.IXe was effectively a freebie once they'd decide to do the two-seater.
I think the TR9 was a really brave and good choice. I agree it'll do well. The Jag looks great and a T2 would surely be an easy addition? I like the look of the T2 by the way, looks like a real sports model.
I'd suggest that the Spitfire T9 may have a market for those that have flown in one.... a good opportunity for those that competently offer their building services too perhaps.
I reckon Airfix chose well for this year's releases. Love the Jag, the new Spits are good, and the Stally is a possible for me - a wetish diorama might be on for that. The K2 Victor is one I have wanted for a while, so about time too!
Pumped up on the 2025 releases myself. 1/48 Jag and two-seat Spitfire are definite buys in the aircraft kits section Jamie. (Other definites are boat kits E-boat, Vosper and RAF rescue launch for nostalgic reasons.)
The slide molded nose and rivets make the spitfire worth looking at, I'm not in the market for another MkIX but if I could make ML407 with its better looking rear canopy I'd probably grab one.
Hi Jamie, hope you're well. I'm really excited about this year's range! A lovely diverse and varied amount of releases. The Jag obviously! Looks fantastic, deffo getting that! The Wessex too looks stunning and highly detailed and as you say, many scheme and variant possibilities. The new spits are another winner for me, especially the TR9! The second releases of the newer tooled kits are also really exciting, especially the Liberator! All in all , I think Airfix have smashed it! I've already seen a load of negative nannies comments but you can't please everybody! Nice to hear your thoughts Jamie. Looking forward to the MkXIV vid! Take care mate 👊
I am fine with Airfix having a modern standard lit of every mark of the Spitfire and Seafire. I’d just like a similar approach for Hurricane’s, Typhoons, Tempests etc let alone US and German ww2 fighters as well. I do think the 2 seater was a good choice. I think a lot of people will buy and build it at least once, although perhaps not with the decal options chosen ?
The Artemis was quite the surprise! I will confess some disappointment that it isn’t 1/72, but 1/144 makes perfect sense to go with their Shuttle and Saturn V.
I was surprised (pleasantly) by the B-24D release. Having seen "Strawberry Bitch" at the USAF Museum, i think there's a lot of great markings options for this one. Also pleased about the Gannet COD. Hoping that the TR.9 and Mk IX Spitfires will ultimately yield a Spitfire Mk VIII. Think Airfix is trying to seek a middle ground between Eduard and Tamiya.
Airfix nailed it - Ordered the following with the 10% discount - 1 x Victor K.2 2 x Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A 1 x Spitfire TR.9 Victor because they are £199 on eBay. Jaguar because I flew in a T.2 when in ATC at Lossiemouth. TR.9. as a friend flew in a Mk VIII converted so want to do him a facsimile. Got to say bit shocked with you doing folded wing Gannet Jamie 😮 - have I convinced you ? Thought not 🤣
The Wessex would also look good, as an HCC Mk.4 of the Queen's Flight. Flown by several Royals, many others were also passengers. Also looks like I need to move my (now) 'old tool' Airfix Jaguar plus Paragon T.2 resin conversion set, up the 'to do list' LOL.
I'm definitely getting a Tr.9 and a Wessex. We need to convince Airfix that a Spit PR.IV and XI would sell well as well! It wouldn't surprise me if Airfix didn't do a B-24J as they never went very far with the B-17, we never got an F.
I'm hoping that like with the Buccaneer they do the Jaguar in 1/72 eventually. Having seen the schemes that are due on this first edition it has the pointy nose of a very early GR1, so potentially they could do the French A version, once we see the sprues you'll know if a two seater is coming if the front end is seperate to the rear fuselage.
@@davidhansen994 I have both the Italeri and Hasegawa 72nd kits (Hasegawa - 1984, Italeri - 1996), they can be made into nice looking examples but need work to do so. The italeri kit has thick trench like panel lines and no rivet detail, the Hasegawa is more refined but is 30 years old now so an updated newer mould would be nice that covers all versions.
I am not British, but I am very happy about the Jag. One in the desert pink is an obvious choice for me, bu who knows - maybe there will be another one if build process will be enjoyable.
Really happy for the Jaguar contingent, should be a fabulous reproduction. But why yet another blooming Spitfire, when we are desperate for a decent SHar. Fingers crossed for next year.
I have many of my wish list kits that i would like to have seen so i for one is happy. The Wessex's was a big "Yes" for me. But im still waiting for my 1/24 Scout/Wasp. Small enough helicopter be be made in a large scale. Saying that re-tool /72 or /48 would be nice. Maybe Airfix cojld do their magic on the Puma
Regarding the 1/48 Spitfire Mk IX you say Eduard or Airfix, get the Eduard kit....I'm sure it probably is the better kit but from my research all Eduard kits are C wing Mk IX's and this seems to be the first E winged Mk IX. which surely now fills a hole in any Spitfire collection. Has Eduard ever released an E winged Mk IX?
@@thescalemodellingcafe Thats cool,In regards to Aircraft ive still got my Vertol 107 to finish and soon a De Havilland Heron. Also got a Cessna as well all in the que .
This is definitely a good release with some very nice models. Unfortunately, nothing for me though, I have a quite narrow niche, British aircraft of WWII in 1:72, would have really loved a new mould of the Hudson or the Anson, and my last vestige of hope was a British liberator but alas no.
Great releases from Airfix and loving the channel. Keep up the good work
Cheers Terry

Chinook, it’s the twin antennae on the port side. No sprue A on the original kit!

The Buccaneer S.1 had deHavilland (later Bristol-Siddeley) Gyron Junior engines.

What about a 1/48 Lockheed Hudson, still missing. A major allied game player in WWII?.
I'm sure it's on someone's radar
You’ll need to find and reproduce the secret writing in the 7 Sqn Chinook locally-applied camo.
Ooh!
