What I like about a Low F harp is (as you demonstrated) how clear high notes tend to be, and stay. It just has that extra oomph that makes it just a tiny bit warmer and fuzzier. It's just a shame they're relatively rare compared to other tunings, so they tend to be a bit more expensive too.

Wow I love the normal f harp for blues in C! Sounds great! Why do so many people say it's bad??
I guess because it's a bit 'shrill' but I love it... I even use an F# on my new album! (Writings on the wall) skifflemachine.bandcamp.com/album/mono
or maybe is because we wanted a regular harp to learn without pissing off the neighbours, but the only one available in our country is a cheap, high as shit F harp

Is there a particular low key you’d recommend? I play a lot with A but I’ve read that low A is difficult to play. I don’t mind spending the money for a good one, most of my gigging rotation is rockets and 1847’s, but I don’t want to get a low key that I won’t end up using.
its a good question, but hard to answer I find the low F good for some things, but it makes me tired to play it too much and it doesn't cut through a room like a regular F. I have a low D too, I like that for some jobs. I have tons of harps that I only use occasionally, however they all do a great job when i need 'em :)
@@lilchucktheonemanskifflema2214 hahah that’s the struggle of a decent harp player, eh? We can never have enough, yet have too many already. I’ve been gigging regularly for quite a while, so I thought it would be interesting to loop some bass lines and chugs on low harp, and fill-in with the higher octave soloing. My most-used key is A/Ab, but after hearing someone play a low-A, that’s out of the question lol

What the h*** is low f? I've only heard of f sharp f or f flat.
