- Near Norwich, NY is an old state campground that is now free primitive camping. There are port-a-johns, but not much else except great outdoors fun fishing, boating, hiking, and relaxing. Camping in the previous Hunts Pond State Park area is only allowed at the 12 designated campsites around the perimeter of Hunts Pond. May 1 to September 30, campers must get a free permit from the DEC Sherburne office. Call 607-674-4017 to reserve a site. Sites generally are booked two weeks or more in advance, so it's important to call early for a site.

I tried to keep them out of the muddy pond, so instead they found a muddy stream !! :-)
I've fished that place quite a bit the pan fishing is amazing and the bass fishing is great early morning

Hunt's pond is a gem, it has really been over fished though..I grew up on the dairy farm about a mile north of Hunt's. Many memories there..

I try to be dedicated, but the motivation definitely comes and goes..... it helps if I can knockout 2-3 video edits at a time and then work on the filming part. This is much more complicated than I had imagine when I started. But I like learning stuff and getting better !! I will continue !

This is no where near NYC. Very nice location. 3.5 hours from GW bridge. Some closer in Conn, but I'm not that familiar with that area.
Your boys are so well behaved
It just takes a few minutes of training each day and staying consistent in making them behave.... It works just as well on children, but with the children. a shock collar helps 😂😜😃

hi there! well I've just about watched all of your free camping videos and I have to see great videos! very well made and very informative! now I have been wanting to go camping in the Adirondacks for a couple years now and I finally have the time. the sites that interest me the most are the moose river plains because of the isolation that seems to be and the abundance of campsites. but I also very much like the hunts pond in this video because of how close to the water the sites are for fishing and kayaking. I will be tent camping. I am coming from the Rochester area and don't mind driving up to five hours anywhere if I have to. do you have any other recommendations or tips? I will be leaving July 5th and have about a week. hope to hear back and again thanks for the awesome videos!
Hunts Pond is permit only and its probably all taken for that weekend. Moose River Plains is first come first served, and does have a lot of sites. That's probably about 5 hours from Rochester to get into the actual sites. The sites I usually stay at, LOST POND are just a mile to the pnd and a lot of people hike in with canoes to fish the pond. I guess there is good brook trout fishing. Or you could stay on the western end of the road and get into Limekiln Lake or there are some other sites on water. But its a good chance they will be taken.. Make sure you get the map from DEC www.dec.ny.gov/lands/53596.html#Camping and check out the various ponds and river campsites.

what is the drone that you are using? I am thinking of getting one, but I have no idea how much it can cost.
They can cost a lot and they can be destroyed in seconds. I use the DJI Mavic pro, it cost $1000 for the drone, and they you need to have an newer Iphone or an Ipad mini to use it. It won't work with a samsung very often. I don't know much about the others except for the gopro drone, which I am not very impressed by.
thanks for the info! I don't have an I phone or Ipad so I guess that woud not work for me. I will ontinue to look around... They are quite expensive.
did you guys have service on your phone there?
There were some places around the car I could get a bar or two, but basically no, but that was a few years back, so thing could have changed.
