  • Chapman employee, Maureen Folk, presents her talk, "Great Camps of the Gilded Age: The Elite Adirondack Experience." The Adirondack Park is rich in both beauty and history. During the Gilded Age in America (1870-1900), some of the nation’s wealthiest industrialists built homes in New York’s northern wilderness. These became known as Great Camps. From Great Camp Sagamore to White Pine Camp in Paul Smiths, these grandiose summer homes provided luxury vacation spots for the American elite.
