- Experience the vibrant and budget-friendly side of New York City as I embark on a unique stay at the HI Hostel, a part of HI USA, a renowned nonprofit organization. In this exciting vlog, I share my first-ever experience staying at a youth hostel, stepping away from the comfort of premium Sheraton and Marriott properties that I've been accustomed to during my travels across the USA.
Despite hearing various opinions about hostels in the USA not living up to their European counterparts, I approach my stay with an open mind, ready to explore new cultures and make lifelong connections.
Throughout my time at the HI Hostel, I have the pleasure of meeting fellow adventurers from all corners of the globe. From India to Egypt, Pakistan to Brazil, Uganda to Sydney, Netherlands and beyond, the hostel becomes a melting pot of diverse experiences and stories. It's a testament to the power of travel, bringing individuals together from different backgrounds to share unforgettable moments.

You are very philosophical! I would have become upset by not being able to get to Central Park right away. I guess we all need to be prepared to be flexible when traveling, that is much more enjoyable 🙏
Haha, I've never been called Philosophical before, but I'll take it 🤠I did that math that it was so close to my hostel and so big that there might be numerous possibilities to explore it during the course of my stay anyway so won't matter much when I see it 😅 I like to keep things flexible and adapt as I go along
@@TheRusticWanderer I am sure that is why you enjoy your travels so much-by being flexible and open to different experiences!
Do you need to be a master of sports to walk the streets calmly? Is it dangerous on your streets?
I understand the soap dispenser on the laundry requires coins even though the machines do not.
Machines often do require coins for wash cycles.
Hello, sir! Could you share your ride all the way from JFK to the hostel? That would be very useful)
Thanks for the question. To get to the hostel from JFK, there is a possibility to opt for public transport such as metro lines, buses or even an Uber. Depending on your budget you can choose whichever option makes the most sense for you. Google Maps directions are quite accurate and detailed for the trip to the hostel.
You never mentioned something that a lot of people are curious about - the cost of staying there - very important
I booked 5 nights for £289 ($358) for October this year. Free cancellation.

Thank you for the support 🙏
You're talking about the first thing you're going to do after the park is get over to the hostel and all this farting around before you get there - if you say you're going to go to the hostel get there pretty quickly in your video
hello ..even i am trying to book a hostel room in nyc tommorrow .i.e. july 12 ... which one is better ... hi nyc hostel or international student center !!! 😀😀
I havent stayed at the international student center so can't really comment on that. Either way, have a fun trip to the big apple.
Is there a break served at hotel?
@SpiritualRam no but there is a self service kitchen which is huge and you can cook yourself. Otherwise there shops all around nearby so you can grab and go including a small bakery inside the hotel itself by the pool table near the reception.
How much you paid for bedspace
Was about 90$ at the time per night per bed
