      Thats a lot of riding in two years! How do you get that many miles in a year?

    • @TheKurtTribute
      @TheKurtTribute 22 дні тому +2

      @ I live in NorthEast Texas, so to get to even the nearest town is a thirty mile trip one way. The first year I put over 20K on it, everywhere I went I was riding! When the weather is nice and I have a full weekend off it’s not uncommon for me to ride 1K-1.5k miles between Saturday and Sunday.

      @@jenniesgarageI’m eager to hear what you think about it for sure! I’m not familiar with the carbureted bikes, but the fuel injected ones start to pull pretty hard around 9k+ RPM. You really have to ring them out.

    I had the '92 model, and aside from some cosmetic changes, everything looks exactly the same. I never had any issues with this bike in the 20 years I owned it, except for the battery rectifier, which reliably failed every five years due to overheating (there are some aftermarket options with better cooling). Loved this bike!

      @jenniesgarage  22 дні тому +1

    have had both a 2000 cbr f4 (carbed) and 2004 cbr f4i both amazing bikes, as far as tuning goes with the f4s carbs just to adjust the pilot circuit there two specialty tools just for that job and quite a few more for electric tests for the coils, cdi, etc..I'm not so fond of the specialty tool requirements on it and preferred the f4i, the FI was just way easier to work on and diagnose that it won my heart over lol.

  • @aaronbehindbars
    @aaronbehindbars 23 дні тому +4

    No questions, but I have some predictions based on my own experience as to what Jake will think:
    1.) The bike will impress Jake with it's smooth, linear power delivery.
    2.) Sport bikes are so vastly different from dirt bikes, this will feel something akin to a spacecraft.
    3.) The booty up, paws down position will be very odd and give a feeling of being less in control of the bike at slow speeds. The faster you go, the better it feels, partially because the wind flow helps hold up the torso to relieve pressure on wrists, arms, and shoulders.
    4.) The narrow handlebars and high, rearset footpegs will be awkward and may feel slight sketchy at slow speeds or when you go to put a foot down. Male sure you're limbered up begore you ride.
    5.) Same goes for the neck. It gets sore from craning to hold your head up. Stretch that out first.
    6.) It's always fun to ride a type of motorcycle you've never ridden. I want to ride something with a side car next.

      I'm not paying him enough to make it like new. I've never rebuilt the calipers since I've owned it, because it pretty much stops on a dime. I guess that's because I religiously use both front and rear brakes. And this is the most time it's been without a cover. Gotta keep the dust off those scratches.

    If Jake were to have a catch phrase to use at the start of every youtube video, what would it be? Sorta like an ice breaker intro that's catchy to remember, easy and maybe even a little funny or even changeable. Or maybe even an outro phase too. Or maybe there always has been something and I just missed it. Just tryin' to help, seems almost all channels I watch have something like "let's get that on a tray... Nice" or "ill see you guys at the coffee shop" and "How much garbage do we make" "keep your stick in a vice" It wouldn't be something too crazy, or bring too much structure to videos, or at least it doesn't need to. One guy even just takes a selfie of himself and his lemon tree for the ending of his video, and he has an animal rescue ranch. Doing so just builds a brand and loyalty. I now the channel is aiming for a more live sort of feel, with less scene cuts or cut scenes. Just tossing an idea out there tho. Maybe something to do with a garage door and "welcome to the garage" "Im Jake, that's camera girl"? Maybe a soundbyte of an electric start of a bike added in there somewhere?

    Be careful especially with the brakes. Yes the bike is going to be very powerful, but the brakes are also extremely powerful. You accidentally grab a handful brakes on an old dirt bike and you’ll probably be fine, on a 600cc sport bike a handful of brake will likely put the bike to the ground

    I owned a 1988 600 Honda "Hurricane" and also a 2001 600 f4i, both black and red. Loved the switch to fuel injection. I was riding a 76 Yamaha XT500 back in 1988 when my friend got his Hurricane, a white and red unit. I took one ride on it and was obsessed with getting one. Took me a couple years to save the money to get mine. My advice is just be careful and watch out for the power surge as your rpms climb, usually about 9 or 10k rpm the motor comes alive and can catch you off guard. Feels a lot different from the low end torque most of the bikes you have been riding have.

    I get that google will tell you CBR stands for cross beam racer, but Honda in the 60's had the CA models, like the CA77 Dream 305. Benly CA90, etc. These little bikes were considered touring bikes. Then the CB's came out, CB350, CB360, etc. People claimed they stood for city bike, which also was false. The CL was the scrambler versions of these bikes. The CB's from the past and the CBR and CBX are just sport models, as were all CB bikes. Even the CB350's were called super sports. CRF's were dual sport bikes. The letters actually mean nothing, just the series of bike it falls into. Now all the touring bikes fall into the GL lineup, Aspencade, Goldwing, Valkyrie, even the little GL400.

    • @jenniesgarage
      @jenniesgarage  21 день тому

      I've heard that too, that the letters mean nothing. Since honda hasn't officially stated, it's all speculation. Keeps people's imagination going that way.

    I had a 92 CBR 600 for a few minutes. I had purchased it from a friend, it needed basic service.
    It was a lot of fun to ride, but I quickly learned I am not a street bike guy. Spent my whole life riding dirt.
    Rocks and trees stay exactly where they are, and dirt tracks or trails are understandably of varying levels of traction
    Dogs , deer , squirrels, cats, bad drivers that don't look, sand , gravel. wet spots together with the 100+ HP and street tires,,Then you have drivers that just plain don't like street bikers, blocking lanes, not allowing to pass, Getting all frothy.. well , I had way too many OH SH$T !!! moments. Had to let her go.
