Mate Plz don't add live chat!
Thank you!
Inequalities in society!!? You stole off a wrestler in Pakistan and refused to respond to him for months!!! And please check the explicit misogyny in your lyrics, women as bait, serving as meat to please your carnal instincts. Nude in my loubis?? It's sick. And those Twitter and Instagram METOO all*gations are not far off! Muhajir loving Bhutto.! Talk to your Dad about that government job in Pakistan.
“The act of trying to find the way home is what convinces us we are lost. We’re not lost; we’re not alone; and we’re never even left home.”
Definitely should start a podcast and get these guests on individually
The amount of books in the background of this chat makes me incredibly happy.
Fatima, your words flow like warm honey. I want to hug each of your answers haha
These are some incredible words and thoughts. Mad respect for you guys.
« Home for me is London in october 2011..... every time i go back to London now, it feels like a place that belong to other people.... » this resonated so much, WOW..... Feels like he read through me and put into words what i have been feeling for so long
Love this discussion of 'identity' as a shifting, switching thing and not a static one word answer. As someone with a 'complex identity' myself, it's so reassuring to hear! :) Thank you for opening up and having these conversations.
Riz i didn't know you had this in your locker! fair play.....you are a great inspiration and role model for british asians and all around the world. Keep it up, this was great, look forward to the next one!
You're all legends, what a gathering, thank you for this!!!
Reading has always been my great escape. The chance to inhabit different worlds, generously peopled books that leave you with a genuine sense of loss when you closed the last page, and the need to kiss the back cover when one is done with a book.......what can I say.......
Home is where you were brought up as a child and went to school... Dont get too confused, you'll be falling down the rabbit hole..!
Riz Ahmed...lowkey best actor right now.
Can relate so much to these people. Home is always the place you leave behind
what a treat watching all four of you together!
Resonated with me on so many levels!!
Great show Riz! Loved the conversation! Look forward to more great shows! Keep them coming!
I really appreciate all of yous, thank yous for doing this!!! 👍🙏🥰❤
Incredible collection of mind and emotion. Thanks Riz for bringing everyone together.
I think for me the idea of home has been a case of ever decreasing circles since childhood where the start point is the whole of the UK and the criteria is where you feel safe and protected. The end point is that home is a state of mind.
Loved this! Please keep lockdown discussions as consistent as possible, I’m sure am not alone in feeling inspired and enlightened after each episode. Riz your ability to keep discussions flowing and humorous is also underrated 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I feel to eat kabab
You should invite Lowkey for your next Live. For the Middle Eastern diaspora.
Really enjoyed this, something new for me. Many thanks. 💜
Home is where the heart is......
Fatima's comment on the moment we are in, where we require everyone to be well in order for us to be well, was for me so important and I truly hope we do take this mindset forward with us. I am however not feeling optimistic we will.
Thank you all for this experience.
Hey Riz,
Just wanted to drop here that this is a really good initiative and it really hit home with me how you guys discussed the concept of home.
At the same time, this and your session with Hasan and Guz really showed how much this mean to you and how you're trying to answe your philosophical questions.
Would love to see more of it.
Thank you for this chat; the conversation reminded me of a favorite line from James Baldwin's Giovanni's Room - 'Perhaps home is not a place but simply an irrevocable condition.'
Love this!
Fatima speaks & it's like poetry. Please start a podcast Riz & have her on as a guest
Great reflection by Nikesh on living in the moment and spending time with his little 'uns. Likewise, but there are times they have driven me bonkers!
Riz thank you for doing this!!
Home is where your heart feels content.
Excellent I really enjoyed that
Fatima and riz ahmed two of my favourites..
have you bought her books? like really paid your own money to buy any of her books?
Love for Fatima.
My heart goes out for her knowing that what she went through regarding her Father. Seeing her this composed makes me proud of her.
She is an inspiration for many girls.
Lastly she is so beautiful and her features are like my mother.
This idea of home is an interesting question, does it exist or is it an idea, a bit like love? perhaps home is the place you love? or the place you feel loved and accepted by others?
Further, is this question really only seriously asked by immigrants/emigrants and/or their children? it would be interesting to ask this question to people considered ethnically native.
I only came across your channel this month and am enjoying your contribution to our world.
15 years ago I shared with my brother the idea that a tv programme should include a bunch of intelligent people/academics kicking off a debate and viewers to follow their trains of thought. Today I got this wish fulfilled with you interesting lot! Thank you Riz! And the moments you froze up whilst everyone else got one with the convo for a good few mins made me crack up..you’re just like me! Hahha /theswedepakafghanangrezmaa
lovely
Love you Fatima
Cool stuff
I try really hard but I can't seem to like rupi kaur. I hope I find more in her work
Home is where loved on are, home where you effort and your hard work is appreciated, home is where everyone is equal or atleast get respect as a human .... home where poor , powerless ppl don’t have fear whether it’s a feudal area of Pakistan where poor farmer izzat like a dust on the road , or Delhi where women feel insecure or London where a innocent ppl going for prayer have fear to get frisked. Or home where minority feel safe like Muslim in India or Pakistan .... human behavior make home safe or unsafe. 911 has some very bad stories and some good where most of the resident were protective towards Islamic communities. But real back home have more racism, bigotry towards minority, ppl with dark skin , poor ppl .
I think you need some Bengali byriani
@@adrisajjad6370 i think you need some education and some lessons in manners.

sorry to be *that* annoying aunty but Riz and Fatima would make such a power couple 🤩🥰
zainab a I totally thought this as well the entire time I was watching it 😂 😊 But also, just in awe of these guys giving women space to talk. No egos here, just beautiful conversation 🥰
lol ended up being a different Fatima but still !! 😂
COVID-19 is the 21st century's version of the Angel of Death that blighted Egypt in the time of Moses. Only this time it isn't only the first born!
Home to me has never been bricks and mortar, rather than my body being my temple, it's my home - it houses everything that is me, including my spiritual self!
This is what real privilege looks like. Please tell me more about how hard your life has been in Britain. If you don’t feel that you belong then that’s on you. If you even mention anywhere else as home then you’re not British, you just live in Britain.
Lol, who are you decide what is home to anyone? And who gave you the authority to tell us who is or isn’t British? Did your forefathers build the roads? Or were they part of the plundering around the world? You clearly proved why some people feel like they don’t belong and I can’t blame them. Do you consider the white people who have moved to Spain as British?? I am sure you do.
Imperialist numpty
Andy See - Exactly.... they are just people that live in Spain.
firoz2007 - They all clearly have a void and don’t feel like they belong, I didn’t decide anything for them. You might get to legally be British but when you label yourself as ie Pakistani British or West Indian British then you’re always going to feel you don’t belong. British people feel 100% British we have no other home.
Andy See I am sure we consider them expats?? It’s only when they are brown/black or other than white that they become immigrants. That’s the white privilege which we have to account for.
