Yeh I have like 4 times giving birth and all of them is just without help, but sometimes you know some of the baby guinea pigs that are born could be immature and need human help you know there is bad and good things
I want to thank you. I saved life of two pubs thanks to your advices,even tried to acupuncture which had surprisingly big effect. If I didnt see this video a week before our piggie went into labour,they would die.

This was not the proper way to let guinea pig give birth. The animal knows what to do, Keep human hands away. In extreme cases, bring to a vet. This is horrible video
@@recoveringsoul755 I dont like it eighter and I wouldnt recommend it fotr any healthy female. But it saved our breed, that is the fact. Our dove had a huge problem during the labour and the puppies were already half dead. If I wouldnt pierce ones lip and if I wouldnt give a heart massage to both of small puppies, they would die in a minutes. Now they are fully grown up.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one stressed watching this,..I kept yelling just leave them alone, I’d understand if he intervened after seeing baby not responding after she finished giving birth but he automatically picked her up and did all that like she couldn’t just let mom clean her she probably had some of the sac in her mouth like a normal baby does!!! And they clean them naturally!!!😢

He's a vet, he did everything right, those babies could've died or the mother without his help and people are too dumb to do research themselves before hating on him for doing everything right.

Past 2 days my guinea pig give birth and we don't know she is pregnant and so bad the 4 pups didn't survive and the mother doesn't care and lucky for those pups that survive :)

Just give her a nice area to give birth, remove other animals. Give her some time an warmth. And thee worst thing you can do is pick up the baby, when ours gave birth we didn't go near them to let them bond. Only for cleaning their home and putting food in. This is not good really just leave her alone

I can't stand when humans feel the need to intervene while animals are trying to give birth. I believe they naturally will pop their babies out without any difficulties. I always thought it wasn't a good idea to touch the mother and especially her babies.
I can't stand when humans are too stupid to do research themselves and hate on someone for doing everything right because it looks wrong to them. He's a vet and knows more then you and all the other people with a brain the size of an almond leaving stupid comments, because of him the mother and babies survived, 20% of all guinea pigs die when giving birth, he did everything correct so that mom and babies would live, they do this at every vet around the world for guinea pigs.

I agree, he was turning them over and pulling the babies out, and you could see the mother try and struggle/run away when he did that. I will however say that it didn’t appear that is was his fault that the baby pig had breathing issues, so I will give him credit for saving that cute baby.
The mother probably couldn't push it out on her own, and without help they BOTH could've died.

But you DO NOT interfere with a mama guinea giving birth. (Except for extreme circumstances and in those cases it's best to get her to a vet) DON'T flip her over or pull her pups out! Agree. Almost used the mom like a squeeze toy to push babies out. She'd had litters before she knows what to do. I didn't know they were born with fur and open eyes, not like hamsters, rats, mice etc.

I would like to breed my male guniea pig with a female guniea pig but I want to know how old the female should be bc the male is 2 years old
The best age to breed a female is 6 months if they are older than 8 months and haven’t been bred yet it can be quite dangerous and even if they have been bred it’s still risky to breed past 8 months they are at their healthiest for breeding at 6-7 months
Please don’t breed them. There are so many that need new homes because people buy them and then tire of them and want to get rid of them. Just like cats and dogs and other animals. “Adopt don’t shop” applies to all animals.

The point is still the same. If you keep all of the babies, that means you’re taking on maybe four more Guinea Pigs than what you have now. But instead of breeding, why can’t you contact a rescue group or look on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace and find for Guinea Pigs that need new homes? Many times people have pairs that they’re needing to rehome.
@@xradelox because when you get them from the rescue they are usually males it’s very rare to find females in rescues unless they are with a male and trying to bond multiple males is very difficult the rescue I work at actually doesn’t allow their males to be put in groups with other males unless they came in with that male so if you want to expand your herd and want maybe 4 more pigs but don’t want to have loads of separate herds of mainly 2 male parings then breeding is a good way to go also some people don’t have rescues with guinea pigs in near them and when you breed you know the age you know they have been raised well and come from healthy parents but when you rescue a lot of the time they don’t know the exact age they are just estimating and don’t know what their parents where so could have been from inbreeding which will cause loads of health issues so some people just want the security of knowing their pigs come from healthy happy parents

guinea pigs don't HAVE a natural environment and they haven't had one for centuries. they've been 100% domesticated throughout time. please do your research before saying shit online. releasing a guinea pig into the wild would mean certain death within an insanely short period of time. it would be the same as releasing a poodle into the forest, they're so detached from their wild relatives they'd stand no chance. *i'm sure i don't need to explain the exact reasons a domesticated species would perish in the wild.*
also "oppressor" ..god PLEASE shut the fuck up. he is their OWNER, he clearly takes care of them and loves them, by your logic all animals under our care are being oppressed and should be set free to fend for themselves because apparently a loving, warm, human caretaker is oppressive.

Yea when mine gave birth I had never seen a piggy born. It's wild the baby has its fur already and eyes are already open soon as they are born.I'm not even kidding by that night the baby was heating hay..Hell, he needs to back away. Mother is trying to give birth and dude is hovering over her probably why she walks away from them soon as one comes out..Pushing on her belly this man is crazy probably why that one wasn't breathing he smashed it while it was in her gut, the dumb azz. Was funny that pig is eating grass then just squirts a baby out like its nothing and keeps eating grass never even missing a beat. now that's savage AF!
