I purchased several bottles of Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye back in 2016 when it was rated the best whisky in the world. I really enjoyed it. So delicious! A couple of years went by and now having depleted my stock of it, I bought another bottle. The flavor was not near the same. I was disappointed and found the same response from others who had had it earlier. I don't know what happened, but it was never again the same product I tasted as when it received the rating it did in 2016. Too bad that they were not able to replicate what they released earlier.
In my opinion, northern rye is perfect for a manhattan. It adds a nice sweet and bubblegummy note. The proof is not bad either with 45%, would be better at 50% though.
Yes the bourbon mash crown Royal got out for just over 6 months I was lucky enough to put one full case up in my collection lol before it got recalled every time someone sees it they always ask me what the hell is that lol

Mix it with water to that’s how pros do it it dilutes it so you can taste the profiles more just a tip from a younger dude
