Kaizen seems the best method to me since it would include the contribution of all key associates giving a faster problem resolution where’s as Six Sigma is a group of analysts identifying data then implementing, possibly creating a drastic change that associates have difficulty adapting to in a timely manner. My company has adopted Six Sigma and has taken almost a year to begin implementing a successful restructure with no end to reach the final proceses. I can’t help but think Kaizen would have successfully got us there sooner and my team to feel it was all a team effort to a common goal.
To add to this Six Sigma you would be relying on the competence and self motivation of tasked individuals, where as anyone working in any industry knows that is rare. 😂😢 cheers!
I have worked first hand with a major aircraft manufacturer that uses kaizen+ 7s and I have come from another company that used lean six sigma+5s and I have to say that from experience the lean 6 sigma +5s was 10x better when you involve the workers directly in the process of creating a more efficient work output. I'll just say this we went from a 85% stagnant learning curve and output to 95% output in less than a year and if our IT department had their stuff together with scrum it would have been 100%.
Perhaps it's been said, but think about the employment marketplace and needing to attract the highest quality talent and you'll know that employees are a very if not the most important customer. This means that Six Sigma is most valuable when it utilizes Kaizen where Customer Perfection is concerned. Yes, you state that "it is better to create a combined system" but the only reason you give is "because when they work independently the results will differ." I suppose the indispensable value of satisfying the employee as a customer could be implicit in the differing results, but it is not at all obvious. It is best to state explicitly that Six Sigma is most valuable when it utilizes Kaizen.
