I wish they had given Steph the option to go outside and explore Haven Springs and seeing Gabe and Ryan etc etc. It felt kind of boring, no offense but I did enjoy playing it.
I feel like that's what they went for, showing that most of Steph's days in Haven were lonely and monotonous, and how it made her feel. But for us as players, I agree it would be more enjoyable to play outside as well.
That's was the point. Alex was the one who made Steph come out of her cave and reignite her life.
I agree but I think the whole point is showing what stephs life was in Haven Springs, she mostly spent her time in the recording booth and in the main game, staph does mention a couple times that she don’t really see a point in Haven Springs. But yeah I do wish she could at least interact outside and not the entire 3 hours in the booth
That’s the thing about dlcs some of the aspects can be good but still miss a lot of things we really wanted to do and hoped for
I understand she didn't like to come out of record booth untill Alex came. But they could of least had some flashbacks to her time in Acadia Bay, that you could intract with.
I felt like they could have stretched it more like acutally going outside, visiting gabe to play fossball, having interactive flashbacks or like they could have added the scene where steph got her job
Still an great dlc to get to know her and the story from bts till now a bit better

That’s the one thing I don’t like about this dlc, I wanted to talk to Gabe to get to know him better
It purely came down to the constraints the pandemic had on it. They had to keep her safe so could really only record Steph on her own. Interaction with others was tricky. But it definitely could have been its own game like Before the Storm given the right circumstances.

@@T_History Because work for TC began in 2017. Well before the pandemic hit. This was started later as part 5 was in completion and the full team all joined in once they had wrapped the main game up.

yeah ngl i didn't feel like spending money on this but i just might now cause this man's play style is infuriating. he kept missing everything and didn't even stop to sit in the memories which is what makes these games special, the emotional aspect
I'm really happy Steph and Mikey left Arcadia Bay and survived the storm that's how we got them here after a long time ❤️
My heart hopes they meet Chloe again and play DnD again 👍🏻

It was okay, for a DLC, but I think it would have been tons better had there been actual customers in the store to mingle with. There isn't a single customer in the store the entire game and that seems silly. Also a random phone call by Chloe (if you choose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay) or a creepy call from Jefferson calling from prison (if you chose to sacrifice Chloe) would have been amazing, and give new depth to the series.
Why would Jefferson give two shits about Steph?
That’s why I always hold back on dlcs because there not always good.

@@Anomalous602 Knowing Life is Strange, their DLC's / Prologues / Spinoffs are actually great. So I wasn't really hesitating to opt for the version with DLC.
Before The Storm, Awesome Adventures of.. I suspected this background story was just as cool. I even had the hopes up for a little return to Arcadia Bay (Despite limited, but still ) But it felt cheap to spend several hours of not so much exploring, only hearing out stories in one single small environment. It was a bit of a dissapointment though. Nice story arc, but it could've done with much more.

damn it was so boring that i couldnt even finish it myself. the full game repeating the same things. wish we had more backstory of her leaving arcadia bay and blackwell academy. at least let us leave the store and explore more her story with gabe

This is why I’m always skeptical about getting downloadable contents, sometimes people hype it up so much but when you really look into it they miss a lot of the portions to measure up as a good game worth our time.
A 2 hour DLC for $12.99? Wow. They are getting bold.

The price itself wouldn't be a problem if you would get a nice dlc, but this was really boring.

Yeah I’m so glad I didn’t buy it and instead just watched this. Honestly a little boring. And pissed there was no mention of the store mascot the cute black kitty (unless I missed it)
After playing this DLC I went back and got Alex and Steph together, I felt for steph, the Lonely life and just wishing you had someone to share it with and then sudden fate brings Alex into her life and gives her a reason to stay in Haven
More like a reason to leave haven 😏 that town wasn’t made for Alex and Steph. Too boring, they are way more adventurous and creative, their music talent can’t be limited to a record store in a city full of old people.
Surpriesed they could make a whole 2 and a half hour DLC in one tiny studio with bare minimum gameplay

I don't know about you, but for me the end of this game was quite unexpected that Alex appeared, I love that they added her here too
It was nice to play but to short and lonely it would be better if customers came in and you can talk or argue with them or Max and Chloe are call you on the radio this would be epic

I have mixed feelings.
I mean its a great addition to Stephs Background and for people who already know her its a great Fanservice BUT its way too overpriced. The game itself aint cheap plus adding 13€ (in my region) is a little bit cheeky to say it midly anyway my issue with this DLC is we just have Steph as a character, I personally thought they will unfold Gabe more as a character but nope you aint seeing him at all and basically the whole DLC is like a escape room where you just do your tasks and the whole year flies away. Def. wasted potential by maybe let some characters visit you like Ryan, Charlotte or hmmm how bout GABE it feels like the whole town is dead and youre the only one living in it.
Positive is to say that the fortune teller gimmick is pretty funny and enjoyable there are some unique and funny dialogues. Overall to see Mikey is nice and the refrences to Arcadia Bay (depanding whether you destroyed it or not) are interesting.

So basically its a nice to have situation but you dont need it actually so wait till the price drops and buy it together with the main game cause the main game is also way too overpriced.

i think she was supposed to end up traveling with steph. she was the only one truly on Alex"s side and was willing to drop her plans for Her unlike Ryan who decides to work at the bar of his disgraced dad. idk why she would stay in a place that did nothing when they saw her covered im blood and tried to gaslight her. Steph believed her no matter what. even if the player didn't pursue her.
@@kendrashaaaa actually they won't gaslight her if you do certain things in the episodes. But it was weird that they had no concern for her when she walked in covered in blood.

So... DLC/Standalone, just doesn't seem like it works with the bigger picture of "True Colors" after playing it. Like it almost feels like "Captain Spirit" was for "LIS 2", instead of "LIS 1" and then you get "The Farewell Episode".

This was the most pointless, boring dlc ever, it was short, boring, paid and meaningless at all. Deck Nine just wanted to make a cash grab honestly. In comparison to Captain Spirit which was short but meaningful this felt like The Sims.

Are people really satisfied with this DLC?? I feel like it could've just been included for free with the base game. Feels very shallow and almost like nothing had happened from the 2 to 3 hours of playtime. It is cool to hear Chloe's voice and see how Alex chimes into the story, but that's about it. I guess it was meant to appeal to the Steph lovers more than anything. Anyway, thankfully the base game was good so i'm glad I chose to watch someone else play this DLC instead of me trying to enjoy it. Also, no idea why the person who played the game for this video acts so brain dead...it's kinda frustrating to watch.
