Yeah that makes sense. The downside is that max and Alex never met so they don't know each other. But Steph is 100% memorable. She's like a bridge between these separate games that she was in. And no, we're not gonna talk about life is strange 2, Steph wasn't even there.
Imagine alternate universe Max being the killer for whatever reason that may be. Weird parallel with Jefferson being a photography teacher and being the killer too. All I’ll say is if it’s not Max or Moses then I’ll be somewhat pleased. If it is Max or Moses, god I hope it’s done well.
Max is not an evil character, though could potentially be without knowing it. During LIS1 it was brought up as a theory that Max’s powers were the cause of the storm, though this was never really confirmed as there’s also other theories of why the storm happened. In LISDE we could maybe be getting a confirmation of if it was really Max’s powers or not. (There’s also a joke of her best friends dying every time she takes a picture of an animal 💀). Moving on from Max, I really think that the skull could be symbolizing Chloe, Chloe’s original shirt had a skull on it. 2:32 there’s a sign in the gallery saying “Max Caulfiled: Walking with ghosts.” This is not to related to anything I don’t think, I just found it cool. Super hyped!
I had wondered if Nathan had power affecting the weather and it was his anger and drug abuse that was causing the storm to form, then when he died it couldn't be stopped. There's cut audio from the first game confirming Nathan somehow had knowledge of the storm wiping out Arcadia Bay before it happened, so in the least it seems he could have had visions of it happening, so could somehow be connected with it.
It looks like a Deck Nine version of Blackwell, and I really am not interested in any more updates or speculations about this game until released. It’s either the biggest hype prank/tease ever, or a complete AAA-hole reboot of a series that was never meant to be made canon. I have hope…a little…that they avoid canonizing anything, celebrate choice, and show us many Maxes, but most of what they’ve shown looks like a rebranding rather than a celebration of the fandom. They have some room to work with establishing a multiverse, let’s hope they know how to use it.
I don't think they're going to canonize anything. There are two separate trailers that showed the difference between your choices--one has a newer picture of Max and Chloe together hanging on Max's wall, the other doesn't. I think it's pretty clear that your choices in the first game will be respected and they'll ask you at the start just like they did in LIS2. I also think that's why we haven't seen Chloe. People keep whining about her absence, but it's kinda obvious she can't be in the whole game, because if you chose to save Arcadia Bay there's just too many variables and scenes to cut out. I think we'll get a cameo for our choice--seeing Chloe at the end or maybe Arcadia Bay if we saved it, and that's all. I don't think they're gonna butcher this game and I do believe they'll respect our choices.

We’ve already seen that D9 doesn’t understand DontNod’s style with their prequel(BtS) and spin off(TrueColors) contributions. Their games wouldn’t face this much criticism if they’re weren’t trying to piggyback off DontNod’s creations. There’s no reason for D9’s contributions to be apart of the LiS franchise, they would do so much better as they had just made their own series from the beginning. Edit: I’m not saying D9 is doing something nefarious or anything, it’s more of a decision Square Enix is making by switching up developers and what not.

They aren't going to put her in. It would complicate the story to make her important for only one playthrough where you chose she was alive. However others have pointed out that we see a photo in the background of one of the trailers of a much more recent photo of Max and Chloe together. Just wait, don't buy the game and watch an LP if your enjoyment of the game hinges on Chloe. They obviously aren't going to show us everything in the trailers.

Honestly Evil Max, would just be the biggest cop out twist they can do. For one its predictable(as people don't know crap about the actual murder other then it happened), and Max herself many times has said she is a pacifist. Its against her established traits (that you can not change) to murder someone. Especially someone she would know.

Life before the storm was pretty good I think you should give it a chance, True colors on the other hand? Wasn’t necessarily bad but it was boring, the power was boring, and the story was okay, wouldnt rewatch it.
True Colors is amazing and has a great story. There are more emotional moments in that than the original game. Alex being orphaned and separated from her brother for years, then finally being reunited only to have him die almost immediately was just the start of it, and Alex feeling out of place and alone. Before the Storm is fine, but fairly overrated imo. You play as Chloe, hang out with Rachael, burn down a forest, and that's about it. If you're a huge Chloe fan then you'll probably like it, but if you just like or dislike her, you'll likely find it a bit meh, and there are no powers involved at all, so life is not so strange with that one.
I might be the only one who is not at all excited for this game in oct. Everything about it spells flop to me. I like the location but it’s also similar to Blackwell. Maybe max leaves the university after she solves safi’s death? I highly doubt Chloe will be in it despite all the polaroids
