Rich and Lonely, from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

- This is another deleted scene from the original American release of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. In this scene, Tuco enters a cave he knows where old friends are hiding-out. He recruits them to help him hunt down and kill Blondie. This scene takes place after Tuco assembles a custom revolver and before the scene where he and his newly recruited gang attempt to ambush Blondie.
When I first saw this scene I thought Tuco was about to bust into a musical number.
Wow, indeed.
Singin' in the West. 🎶🤠🎶
"The world is divided in two parts: Those who have friends, and those who are alone... like, poor Tuco" - That phrase really connected me with this character 😢
"I'm alive you bastards and I always will be" I wish that was actually true.
Tuco is alive in us all, my friend.
Always loved the music during this scene. Morricone was a treasure.
I love the unmatched dialogue with their lips and the goofy laughing

"I'm alive you bastards...and I always will be!"
Another significant little scene which should not have been left out. In a classic piece of pure criminality, Tuco recruits some rather dim-witted compatriots as sacrificial stooges in what he knows is going to be the dangerous job of taking care of Blondie.
Agreed.
I’m certain that this is that significant little scene because the scene after this is when they try to sneak up on Blondie while he cleans up his gun and he shots them because he heard their spurs. The fools who jump down from that hole above Tuco are the ones who become his pawns.
Hell yeah! They should have named the character, America.

Totally agree 💯👍
Their laughing is the best, you can tell they are trusted friends
the laughter is very funny . not synced properly .
I like this scene. Why the director ever cut it, beats me. Thanks for posting it.
He did not cut it out. The studio did.
@@LeGabrielCantal No, Leone himself cut that scene out after its premiere in Italy.
It's sacrilege 😪😪😪😪😪😪
Yeah, really.
“He’s tall, blonde, smokes a cigar and he’s a pig”
Many years ago, around 2010, there was a channel on directtv that played old films uncut and uncensored. They aired this movie in its three hour cut. Although I didn't sit through it, this scene got stuck with me.
Just watched this part on Starz Western, thought I was going crazy... thanks for proving my sanity... that this wasn't in the earlier edits.
"you got to be poor to eat potatoes"
“Very poor.”
If you cook them right, you can eat like a king.
@@ethanstang9941 Hungry Jack instant potatoes says Hi.
“But people say u got killed in Albuquerque. Tuco -and people talk bullshit. 😂😂 Gotta love Tuco.
Supposedly Sergio Leone thought it slowed the film down too much.
I don't think so, but he was the director, it was his film.
This was only cut from the original version because United Artists thought too many scenes, including this one, would take too long. Director Sergio Leone wanted his film to be shown in total with every scene included. At the time this was only seen in the premiere version in Rome. The cut scenes weren’t dubbed in English, and that’s why, in 2002, Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach “sound so shitty.”
Last week The FULL version was shewn on TV.....
methinks prior was all the Spanish spoken scenes edited out ....Was fantastic...
But you can see it in his face throughout the movie. Why do you think Eastwood sold him out even though Tuco had never done him a bad turn? Look at his rap sheet when it's being read out lol.
Then, in the cemetery, " You thought I'd trust YOU?! " .
@Noodles37UK The rap sheet at the first hanging wasn’t too bad, all things considered. The second one had some worse offenses added though. However, I don’t think Tuco actually committed some of the worse crimes(rape, etc). More likely, him and Blondie fabricated those extra charges to raise Tuco’s bounty value.
I eat potatoes 🥔
I’m also poor! *Really* Poor!!

Who are their actors I know one of them is Aysanoa Runachagua but who are the other two?
Absolutely love this scene ❤
"But people are saying you got killed in Albuqurque."
Holy shit... That can't be a coincidence...
Does anyone know the name of this cave, where it's located? Thank you
I'm watching this movie on on demand and this is in their version of the movie, I've never seen this part in my life
It was added to the restored version in 2002. Before then it had never been seen in the U.S. and it was only in the Italian premiere, the director himself cut the scene afterwards, and it had never been seen again, not even in Italian releases, until 2002 when they came out with the restored version.
May have been 2004, not 2002. But in either case, it's out now.
Ok so I'm not loosing my mind! I've seen this movie dozens of times on my life and had NEVER seen this seen before. I went to watch it a couple days ago and was dumbfounded. I thought I had Mandela effect going on.
this would be the only part in the entire movie that tuco shows intelligence and cunning
I don't know. I like how he killed the man from inside the bathtub. "If you need to shoot, shoot, don't talk".
Eli is just ...great !
Gotta be rich to go buy potatoe fries at mcdonalds😂
Buy some pototoes at Mcdonalds! Lol 🤣🤣
Eli Wallach is, and for me always will be, the Greatest Jewish Actor in history. My friends and I use the first line of this scene whenever we meet up, in honour of him x
Was he jew
Peaple talk bullshit! 😂😅😅😅
This is one scene omitted from the American-released movie, I believe.
Is it just me, or does Tuco's voice sound weird in this scene? I know it's echoing because he's in a cave, but it still doesn't sound quite right.
I believe he recorded this voiceover as a much older man, I forgot what the actual circumstances were, but this was not the voice in the original film. Deleted scene that was restored, as the uploader mentioned. They probably dubbed the entire scene to match all the way through.
Darryl Chan
Eastwood and Wallach overdubbed their voices on the soundtrack for the deleted scenes in 2003.
That means that Eli dubbed this, when was 89 or 90 years old!
In this film was ~50
Does anyone know the song name for this scene?
Saint Anthony Mission by Ennio Morricone.
@@jaythebillz9543 Thanks a million
Uma parte desse trecho do filme foi cortado da maioria das versões dubladas e até só legendadas em português.
Qual parte?
At 2:12, i was thinking about that part when i got my Tax Return Refund check in the mail....🤠
He said there's a big Such & Such with $4,000.00...
@nerad1994 I think on the newest US DVD release these scenes are in the bonus features.
microfish- i am very pro-capitalism and free markets but i still consider this quote as fantastic as well as hole movie and Once upon a time in the west- i think those two are the finest movies ever produced. and if you look the heroic image of a morton and how harmonica guy tells frank that he is f an ancient race- you can see a heroic image and big hope for the advancement in future in both of leones masterpieces
does the extra footage ruin the pacing? because i think ill buy the original
not at all, this movie is meant to be consumed in a slow manner I believe

This scene in my opinion has great dialogue; it's just everything else is done so poorly. From the dubbing, to the cheap set, and to the unusually bad score. (Especially by Morricone standards.) Had this scene made it into the original cut it probably would've been more memorable.
where is this cave filmed?
It is filmed in Italy.

I agree with the original edit.....adding the deleted scenes slowed the movie down. ....And the added scenes with a clearly elderly Wallach doing voiceovers damn near ruins it. .... The original version released in the US was a classic .........if it ain't broke, don't fix it. ...... More annoying than this ... Vudu and Amazon Prime only sell the extended version .....why? ..... Ridiculous.
It’s never bad to have extra content bro
😂😂😂
This was good to be cut, i think. pretty unnennesary.
It explains where he got those three stooges from when he tries to kill Blondie in the hotel.
I agree. It’s terrible. Those 3 actors are bad and the one that says he is supposed to be dead is bad. Plus the work for a living, what is that supposed to be about. Good it was edited out. I did see this seen once on TV.
@@freesoul3371 If you’re too dumb to understand the dialogue meaning, that’s on you and not the film. I understood the “work for a living” line perfectly
@@freesoul3371It was probably their secret password. He needed to say this to not make them act like someone uknown to them entered their cave and eats their potatoes.
@@Уляна9000 Whatever it was...it was terrible. Good it was cut.
Me I am rich
The scene is badly made, I am glad it didn't make it. However, the movie kinda needs it so people know who those 3 guys were.
