Dude, this Black girl from Chicago just discovered this channel, and can relate to each of the three main characters in facets of my own personality. Listening to you was so natural, and like listening to one of my Southern uncles relaying a tale... Subscribed💕
As a Black Appalachianer and hillbilly, I really enjoyed this story. The images don't really look like the Black people in my neck of Appalachia, but the sentiment is real. I'm from the Blue Ridge section of Appalachia in Va., and most of the Black people I know from here to East Tenn. and Ky are visibly admixed. Most of us around here have high levels of Melungeon and Free Mulatto admixture. Then there's the Va. Indian component as we all shared communities in the Colonial era. According to the DNA testing companies, we're about 35% European and 2% Indigenous. The rest is African. Hell, my ancestors John Venable and Solomon Sawyer were Confederates, as were a few others(Donathans, Goins, Evans, Gibsons, etc...). I'll forever be a part of this land that I love, but its beauty is being severely compromised by $$$$$$

I can remember hearing tails from older fokes when I was growing up that when they were kids and would be out at night messing around that it was always a bit possible that an old farmer might give them a "load of rock salt" if they wern't careful. Another goodin. God bless.
