Theres a theory about Metro-man: he purposefully chose music, something he’s bad at, because all his life his powers have made him perfect at everything. So he chose something he had to genuinely build upon without any help from his powers, because otherwise it would be just as boring as being the all perfect Metro-Man
Maybe he just likes music and never had time to enjoy it because he was too busy shouldering the responsibility of humanities safety? People think metroman is a piece of shit because he started living for himself. I think everyone else is an asshole for relying on one man to solve their problems when they shouldve been doing it for themselves. A persons value is more than just what they can provide for others.
This movie went under a lot of peoples radar on release, which is a shame because its one of the best animated films ever! Story, music, voice acting.. perfection. There's an hero inside all of us!
Two little facts about this movie, Roxane pass for 3 dress, red at the beginning when she hates Megamind (oposite color to megamind's blue tone), Violet when she likes him like Bernard (mix Of red and blue) and blue at the final when she likes Megamind... And Metroman chose music because it's the only challange he has, the only thing he can't do perfect. Hope You understand My English, i know it's not perfect but i try to practice whith this videos... Hugs from Argentina
It’s so sad when little kid Megamind was driven away from school, he was smiling but then he loses it to a sad face as the bus drives away because he doesn’t actually want to be bad he just thinks that’s his fate to be, and the photo taken no one can see how sad he looks... 😭 Also I LOVE how Roxanne’s smartness was part of his sun death ray plan ahah! Does the graffiti at the secret entrance say go away??? XD
There is a theory that people raised Megamind specifically as a villain for Metroman so he doesn't turn evil himself, because if he does - the world is doomed.
In the Christopher Reeve version of the movie Superman from 1978, Kan-El's father Jor-El is dressed like Space Dad. Jor-El is played by the actor Marlon Brando, who also played Don Corleone in the classic film The Godfather, and whose portrayal of Corleone spoke very similarly to Space Dad. Megamind was paying homage to both Marlon Brando and and both his Superman and Godfather characters.
There are several cool things to this movie. If you watch, you can see for a frame were Metroman appears behind Megamind on the screens, when they change forms with the watch the eye color doesn't change, and Roxanne's clothes change from red at the beginning of the movie to purple and ends at blue showing her coming around to Megamind, and many more.
I love this movie!! The one thing that got me annoyed at Metroman was when they were playing dodgeball, he could have used his powers to stop the balls from hitting anything, but he only stopped the one aimed at the teacher......the source of gold stars....... but I liked his redemption in the end. Fun reaction!
i love this movie to death. the amount of real world themes they put into a superhero trope. it’s so similar to the Joker. it only takes one bad day to turn evil, but not because you want too, but society can be really cruel. but also with Hal, it’s not the outside that counts, it’s who you are. hence Megamind never really being truly evil. he just wanted to br accepted.
One theme I've noticed that i don't think anyone has yet is how perception and the narrators bias shapes the viewers views of the characters in any other circumstance wed instantly love metro man the same way people love superman in the super man movies but this movie makes you hate metro man despite not knowing it due to our perception from the poster and what megamind tells us this movie shows that everyone is the hero in their own story in their own way or that no one is a hero and everyone is just morally grey and the viewers will always see the bias that the narrator presents
"sure you're a villain, but you're no super villain. The difference. PRESENTATION!" Just because you're a supervillain doesn't mean you can't do good for the people.
A very great and underrated movie 🔥🔥🔥 If you want more animated movies watch: -Hotel Transylvania trilogy -How To Train Your Dragon trilogy -Corpse Bride -The Nightmare Before Christmas -Monster House -Up -Klaus -Kung Fu Panda trilogy -Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs 1 & 2

Megamind s so awesome. I'm over the moon or maybe just the fake observatory that you are reacting to this. One of the underrated modern movie classics.

I always felt I Was the only person who saw how amazing this movie was but you definitely were enjoying it and laughing at some of my favourite parts! Favorite lines Roxane-There's a doormat that says 'Secret Entrance' Megamind-Minion! Minion-I keep forgetting where it is. Hal-This town's not big enough for two supervillains! Megamind-Oh you're a villian alright, but not a SUPER one. Hal-Yeah? What's the difference? Megamind-PRESENTATION!
I absolutely love this movie, with all the unexpected twists and the very grown-up themes. Metro-Man wasn't truly a hero, Roxanne was never his girlfriend, and Megamall wasn't truly evil. They only played the roles society thrust on them. But when they actually had a chance to choose their own path, Roxanne fell in love with Megamind, Megamind became a hero, and Metro-Man faded into obscurity. There's also an exploration of Hal, who is a classic "nice guy", i.e. he's meek and servile, thinking he's being nice, hoping it with make Roxanne love him. It's actually manipulative and creepy, and there's a good reason women are repulsed by "nice guys". Genuinely good guys are awesome, but "nice guys" really do finish last. Just a great, tragically underappreciated movie.
Megamind: You're alive?! Roxen: You're alive?! Metroman: Im alive! Thats like the moment when i show up in the living room after 6 hours of playing video games in my room, and meet my parents there 😄
Megamind is one of my favorite animated films, and this is the first time I've seen one of your reviews. Your enjoyment and laughter throughout this film was heart-warming.
Good movie always wondered how a sequel would look like and interesting that a movie like this came out before the whole superhero movie genre really boomed with the MCU.
All this time, Metro Man and Megamind are friends despite being rivals. And Im glad Metro Man has a replacement which is his rival Megamind and he feels like a proud friend.
Fun little detail, Roxanne's dress is red at the beginning, changes to purple in the middle, and is full blue at the end showing her evolving feelings for Megamind. This movie is genius.
You missed the ending after credits where minion is washing clothes and the real Bernard pops up out of the washing in machine. Then minion hits him with the memory stick.
A little something about those flowers Megamind brought to the Metro Man museum. Yellow roses symbolize "please forgive me." And I think that's just sweet that Megamind's intelligence doesn't just stop at villainy, science, and machinery, but history and culture, as well.
23:54 He's talking like that because it's supposed to be a not-so-great Marlon Brando impression. Marlon Brando who played Superman's father in Superman (1978). personally i like to think that even the "being predictable" was in the plan, he wanted Roxanne to feel safe and to feel she was in fact outsmarting him by revealing his position, to bad it was Megamind plan to have her think she was in controll.
Devil's advocate here. Hal was the guy who wasn't shy and tried his chance with the girl he had crush on (we are constantly told to take the shot and speak to her, but Hal shows us it can go pretty weird). And because of the "girl rescued by the superhero" story that was in every newspaper, he believed he needed superpowers to score. And that's the only reason he wanted to be the hero, but as soon as he learned it doesn't work that way, he got frustrated and angry on the world. Hal maybe was immature, but his motives could be understood.
Thanks for the reaction. Your happy face throughout the entire movie was infectious. There were two good animated movies around the same time that went under a lot of people's radar, Monsters vs. Aliens and Megamind. Although I think this is the best of the two. From Monsters vs. Aliens I enjoyed the voice actors, Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Dr. House (Hugh Laurie), Stephen Colbert, etc.
5:34 - So Magy, if I said I've been watching you like a dingo watches a baby... That's NOT smooth, right? =P 14:13 - Y'know, I used to joke that one day I'd become "Dread Lord Emperor of the United States." Then I found out that Joshua Norton beat me to it, declaring himself Emperor of the United States on 17 September 1859. He wasn't exactly crazy, but I wouldn't say he was sane, either. 15:45 - Again, Magy... Bouncy house is lacking in the smooth department? Our first date is going to be terrible without it. =P 23:27 - Y'know all those times I told you to watch "Superman: The Movie" from 1978? Well, if you'd watched that before this, this moment would be even funnier. This is one of my favorite animated movies. Glad you got around to watching it.
Another animated superhero movie you should check out is The Incredibles. It's a Pixar film that came out in 2005, and it remains one of their finest entries ever. It actually won Academy awards and the Hugo Award for best dramatic presentation.
You forgot to watch the ending credits, when the Minion is doing laundry and then all of a sudden, Bernard pops up outta the Laundry Machine, and then Minion used the “forget me” stick to knock him out (the same bat that he used to Knock out Tighten)
your reaction to this movie was fantastic. One thing you should know is that there's a mid-credit scene as well as a short animation entitled "the Button of Doom" that takes place after the events of this movie, you should check them both out.
Lmao it’s algood tho now you get to watch it anyway! I was 10 and use to watch this all the frickin time when it came out 😂 one of the best to this day
An awesome reaction. Megamind was really cool how it flipped the script on the superhero theme. Showing the opposite viewpoint. As you saw, there was a lot of Superman themes involved with this. When Megamind transformed himself into that old man with the odd voice, they were paying tribute to Marlon Brando who played Superman's Father in the early Christopher Reeves version of Superman.
