This video is actually so helpful for us tiny space artists... not everyone can have a sun room/ spare room or a perfect corner with lush sunlight to convert into a studio. Very inspiring! definitely gave me a few ideas for my setup ❤
I snorted at the non-mug-shaped-vessel for paint water because it’s such a simple yet genius solution. However, I’m sure I will still clean my paintbrush off in my tea on the regular lol
Everything about you studio space is so relatable! I lol'd at so much -- the artist cart, the random dried oranges, the vases for water so you dont accidentally drink from them
Love seeing the reality for most which is carving out a little space where we can and you've still made it look nice. I appreciate the dilemma of needing to see your things so you remember to use them and needing to store some of it away or it would be too busy to look at it all.
Im glad i found your channel as a cancer survivor at 15 now 19 in art college its nice to see someone pursue this career with similar struggles . i love all your work so much it makes me motivated :)
I wasn't aware that it's possible to reuse dried up acrylic paint?? Will look into that for sure. A tip for small spaces: I like to hang up spice racks on the wall for storing water colors, small tubes, glasses full of brushes or plant cuttings, palettes, sketchbooks you name it. It's a really nice way to have everything visible, compact and easily accessible (if I put things in drawers they don't exist anymore for me)
You have a beautiful, inviting, and well thought out space! I always love seeing other artists studios- gives me ideas of how to better organize mine! I absolutely love your fish painting! Going to watch that video next- glad I found you on here!
Glad to have discovered your channel today, Kristen. It's great to meet a cancer survivor. Two of my aunts, my mom and my bff from massage school lost their battles. But some precious online friends have rung the bell and are still around. One's even starting vet school after a successful solar engineering career, on top of art and a publishing company, both in progress. You guys are an inspiration, reminding the rest of us to go boldly forward in the direction of our dreams each and every day. I love how you maxed out your available space in a small apartment. Besides the micro & toaster setup convenience, it's great that your fridge is only a couple steps from your desk, to retrieve or store wet palettes. I was amazed your cat didn't traipse all over your art stuff. Your carp painting is adorable. It's nice to discover someone new that i'll enjoy keeping up with. Bright blessings. 💖💖💖
I’ve been slowly binging your videos over the past two days. You’ve already made me laugh, cry, and inspire me to fill multiple sketchbook pages. I’m also a full time artist just in my one bedroom apartment. It definitely is a tight squeeze, but so worth it for living the life I want ☺️💛
Hello and thank you sooooo much for your very entertaining tour! It really cheered me up as I've been very reluctant to share images of my tiny kitchen art space. It's reassuring to know there are other artists out there who have a peg board, girl cart(s), and unique storage challenges. It's definitely been helpful and seeing the comments from other artists with teeny tiny studios. Yay! 😊
Thank you for sharing your space with us. I just subscribed. We live in a one bedroom apartment with a sunroom. My studio was supposed to be just the sunroom. Over the last 9 years my studio has spilled over into the living room, dining room, and laundry room...lol. You have made great use of your space. I got several ideas from your video. A new studio tour is in the works for me in 2023. Thanks for the inspiration.
That comment of how the apple pencil charges totally got me, because that is exactly how i feel too X'D Love to see how you manage to get everything organized in a small space!
I'm always worried I'm going to somehow karate chop the pencil while it's charging and break it. I have accidentally knocked it before so it's not beyond the realm of possibility.
I loved the video because you show the real deal ... i mean, most of our workplaces are not pinterest perfect (but yours has a lof of pinterest worth spots and i likeeee them). Even when your space is small, working from home is perfect.
I’d love to know how to make stickers :) I use procreate too, but hadn’t for a while, your videos have inspired me to start making art again, so thank you for sharing your creative journey and ideas :)
This was so useful to watch thank you. I desperately need to get a functional space together, I have art stuff everywhere! I’m going to go and binge more of your videos now 😅
as soon as i saw your face, i thought omg she fell off her bike! sorry, i know you said not to mention it but i couldn't help it. lol. that must have been one heck of a bump you went over. thanks for showing us your studio. and yes, i just enjoy spending time with you. you're delightful. :)
Man, I love your videos! As an illustrator preparing to move into a smaller space it was super neat seeing how you organize your studio space. And generally your videos always have a simultaneously calming and inspiring effect on me, so thanks for the great content.
Kristen, I've been following you for a few years on insta now, I had no idea you had a youtube! Found this video while cruising studio tours for some canvas storage options...guess I wasn't paying enough attention? Anyway, it was rad to see your space. I loved this video, it was nice to see how you store a lot in a little. ☺ And I enjoyed spending time with you--hope you're having a good week! Also I peep the Vinyl collection and I'm massively impressed.
Omg I love that so much! Welcome to the UA-cam side hehe :-) The vinyl is mostly my partner’s who is a jazz DJ, but there’s some of my stuff in there too! It takes up a lot of space but I get to have all the room for my art stuff so it’s a fair trade 😅 So glad you liked the video!!
Hi, I wondered if you've seen any of Clutterbugs vlogs about our organizing styles. I watched' Home organizing style (which one are you)' Im a bee (but there's also butterfly, ladybird and cricket) I'm a bee because I like my art materials in view, but I like everything to be ordered. I think you might be a bee or a butterfly too, it's fun, I thought you might like her vlog :) Your art studio is beautifully organized :)
Would you mind saying again where the desk is from? I am moving from NC to who knows how small an apartment in NYC and putting this in my files would really help. Where do you live just for interest. Thanks for such a wonderful post.
If the person who designs the gen 1 Apple pencil comes to your place to settle the beef, lemme know. I'm coming as backup because I have beef with them for that same reason. 😠

"I need to see everything or else it doesn't exist" 🤣😂🤣 Same! 🙋♀
It's so cool to see how others organize their art supplies. I love the way you have your sketchbook on the pegboard! I think I'm going to try that.
Thanks Grace! Yeah its super handy!

Really a very clever space to have your art studio, and a very good use of that space! Well done!
I totally get the brush water drinking water mix up!

I’m only a few minutes in and I’m cracking up that you had no reasoning for the dried oranges. Just here are some dried oranges 😂
Hahah I couldn’t think of anything to say about them I just made them and put them in the jar but felt they needed acknowledgment lol
You have a beautiful, inviting, and well thought out space! I always love seeing other artists studios- gives me ideas of how to better organize mine! I absolutely love your fish painting! Going to watch that video next- glad I found you on here!
Aw thank you so much! Glad it gave you some ideas!

Thank you! Haha it’s such a silly design

My studio is also just a part of my main space. It's so cool to see how you organize and manage all your supplies!
glad you liked it!
Absolutely love your tiny art space😊
Thank you!

Thank you! I like watching aspirational Pinterest worthy tours too but the reality is most of our spaces have a bit of both! 🤗
This was fun & crazy cool how much you can fit into such a compact area! Thank you for sharing. 🩵🎨🦭
Thank you!

Is the mask you wore in this video (0:40), from 3M? May I ask what size it is ? Thanks
It is! It’s a Medium
