I had an Oscar review session with Jason a few months ago. It was awesome! The analysis and advice he provided lowered my AHI from avg 2.0 to avg 1.2, with many nights under 1.0. And just to get to ask Jason questions directly was priceless. Highly recommended.
I also had a successful Oscar Review session with Mr. Lefty............and it was very helpful. He came up with several things to keep my timeline and event flags from looking like a Jackson Pollock painting............and they are now at the point where they resemble a Monet more. He also was very patient with my ignorance of all of the technical terms. Last but not least, he also showed me several new chord voicings that I can use in typical Jazz chord progressions, more as passing tones, but still within the realm of listenable music, at least to 'western ears'. Thank you Jason. Thank you Lefty. Thank you Dad.
I LOVE that you are now offering this! I have learned so much from your videos and as a nurse with CPAP, I really believe we must empower our patients to be able to manage their own therapy to maximize its' effectiveness. Someone can walk into Walmart and buy insulin without a prescription & a glucose monitor and treat their diabetes (not very well, but still can be done) but we don't think people can adjust their own APAP settings.
I had my PAP Therapy Data Analysis with Jason a little over a week ago. I wish I had done this two years ago! So much useful information. I had been relying on the daily readout on my CPAP, which was telling me my AHI was 2.0 or less, and often under 1.0. And yet I was still waking up constantly and feeling super tired during the day. As it turns out, that daily report on CPAP really isn't very helpful. Downloading Oscar and seeing everything in detail was quite the eye opener. Jason went over my data thoroughly and figured out what was going on: I wasn't getting enough pressure during REM sleep. My old PLMD that I thought was controlled was coming back, but only during REM. By the time the session was finished I had a good idea of how to read my Oscar reports and got an initial plan for tackling this problem. I was very encouraged afterwards. This service is a tremendous value. I plan to schedule sessions with Jason periodically to get my sleep really dialed in and keep it that way. I cannot recommend it to others highly enough.
We use the ResMed MyAir software (free) on an iphone and the report comes in at noon daily with a score report of 100 possible points totaling 70 for 7 (or more) hours of sleep, 20 points for a perfect mask seal, 5 points max for "events per hour" and 5 points max for mask on/off. Scores from the low 90s are okay and good is mid-90 points. If the score is below 90, I use OSCAR or ResScan software to look at time intervals and see what happened. Usually it is: 1. forgot to turn machine on after bathroom, 2. mask leak, 3. apnea or hyponea, which I don't know what to do about. Seeing the off-on times is extremely helpful. ResScan seems more organized than OSCAR. Thanks Jason, I learned most of this approach, this way of thinking, this year from your videos.

I have a quick question.. I have a sleep doctor that listens to absolutely nothing I say.. He put me on 9 and I couldn’t sleep or wear it because of panic attacks.. I finally turned the machine down to 7 and turned it on auto and finally after 6 months of trying the other I can wear it 4-6 hours a night.. AHI is 1.8 most nights.. my question is am I not getting the same therapy with the auto than I would with a constant pressure..
Ahi could be good but that doesn't mean you're not getting arousels when the pressure bumps up. some people are sensitive to pressure changes. i believe lankylefty covered this in a auto vs fixed pressure video.

Thanks so much for replying! I’ll save my money and not get an Apple Watch and order a compatible Contec. Then I’ll set up an appointment to have you read my Oscar data. Thanks for all you do Jason!!
I downloaded oscar from the source given in your video, but had a number of issues. Up until last June I used (and have been very happy with) a Phillips REMSTAR Pro (system 1). Oscar read this data but gave me a message that the program had not seen this data before and requested that I send the data to the developers so they could check that the data was read ok. I looked at the data. It looks plausible other than the total absence of "large leaks" from the top of the page. Because of foamgate, I replaced the Philips with a BMC Lunar. When I tried to upload data from the card for this machine it initially seemed to load but then asked me to find my memory card for it. I clicked the F: "drive" which is the card, and got a message "Please remember to select the root folder or drive letter for you data card". I clicked the F drive again for it but once again it asked. Can You or anyone else tell me what I need to do or if there is a difference card reader that I should use?
Please, can you help me? Just a simple question off topic. For an Aircurve10Vauto is there a ratio for the upper and lower settings? Or a range they have to be in , like 4 and 10, 5 and 11, etc. if you change the clinical settings? Asking for a friend. Also, could you talk about aerophagia? No ratio. EPAP is increased until obstructive apneas are resolved. IPAP is increased until hypopneas, RERAS, and snoring are resolved. A good starting point is a pressure support of 4cmH20.

It mostly responds inappropriately to what the user is doing. It also doesn't increase fast enough or stay at the required pressure long enough to maintain an open airway. If you were already on a static pressure, the pressure really needs to be evaluated in terms of effectiveness and if there are other factors undermining the therapy.....mostly leaking, but it can also be an inappropriate mask or inappropriate mode of therapy. (bilevel, asv, vaps)

Hi Peter. Appreciate your comment. I make these staying "true" to myself. Really it's the brand of the channel not being so "professional". Thanks for watching Peter.
Yup, I notice my RERAs and VS2 are high on nights where AHI is below 2, but feel crappy in AM. But I cannot increase beginning pressure, or stop the bipartisan function cuz I cannot fall asleep when pressure is above 10. Also sustained pressure above 10 blows out my tear duct flap, and my eyelid flutters. But, I am still better than before any CPAP so, . . .
The bipartisan function is clearly just pandering. 😉😂 (autocorrect 1 : Paul 0 ) Increasing your IPAP should help resolve RERAs and snoring. (unless the snoring is actually the silicone cushion flapping)

If you were already on a static pressure, the pressure really needs to be evaluated in terms of effectiveness and if there are other factors undermining the therapy.....mostly leaking, but it can also be an inappropriate mask or inappropriate mode of therapy. (bilevel, asv, vaps)
@@FreecpapadviceHow do I get ahold of you for personal consultation to give CPAP another go with some assistance?

Thank you for your very informative videos they have been very helpful and informative. Most respectfully I have a request. Could you please toned down the cartoon and prank stuff, it is distracting when trying to assimilate the important info you are imparting. I'm not an old "grouch" and love a little humor but I sometimes find it too much. Again thank you for everything and will most certainly continue to subscribe.
Hi Peter. Appreciate your comment. I make these staying "true" to myself. Really it's the brand of the channel not being so "professional".
Thanks for watching Peter.
14:47 That's not the leak rate, that's the total venting rate which includes the air going out of the mask vent.
All leak to me. Intended and unintended.
are you a subscriber yet, "Maybe" that was classic
0:05 I hope that's not a corona wheeze 🤣
0:43 NixOS is so much better than Bububuntu 🤣
And my pulmonologist says my sleep is great because all they look at is AHI
It might be perfectly fine, but it they aren't titrating for RERAS and even snoring it can really decrease the effectiveness of PAP therapy.
But, I am still better than before any CPAP so, . . .
Not bipartisan BIPAP ! Stupid spell check !
The bipartisan function is clearly just pandering. 😉😂 (autocorrect 1 : Paul 0 ) Increasing your IPAP should help resolve RERAs and snoring. (unless the snoring is actually the silicone cushion flapping)
9:30 So much snoring, can't be good.
