Which is ironic because he wrote that song about the struggles of being a married man and touring, but he and his wife ended up divorcing after the song was released.
Agree i really really REALLY love that song and idk how that song is very overlooked by everyone same thing goes to Sweet & Simple that song is very underrated
Yes it is Kim, Steve Perry's voice puts a lump in my throat every time I hear it. AP sings well and his ascension to fame is awesome but the only problem he has is he replaced an irreplaceable singer, Steve's version is as perfect as it could ever be.
I've been a Journey fan since 1975. Not to get churchy on you, but when I got saved in 1987, the first time I heard this song after then, when they got to the part where they sing, Oh girl, I'm forever your, I'm forever yours, faithfully. I said, Oh Lord. Great song.
Such a gorgeous, heart wrenching song about loving a musician. PLEASE continue your journey with Journey. I'd suggest "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'," "Stone in Love," "Send Her My Love," "Girl Can't Help It," and "Feeling That Way/Anytime" (definitely catch this one from Midnight Special in 1978).
Part of this video was filmed in Wyoming. I was in the audience, after waiting all night in the parking lot, of the Event Center in Casper, Wyoming. They were amazing ❣️
When I Got with my husband, he was an over the road Truck driver, this was the song he played for me. We are still together, our 17 year anniversary is on the 15th of November.
Greatest love song of all time! This group has tons of songs. Grew up listening to them! And I still listen to them! 60,70,80s music phenomenal….nothing compares!
There's so much more. Lights, Anyway You Want It, Stone in Love, Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin', Feeling That Way/Anytime, Lights, After the Fall, The Party's Over just to name a few. Also I had the pleasure of seeing these guys on the Frontiers tour in '83 and the Escape tour in '82.
Faithfully, written in the city where I live, In upstate New York The city is Saratoga Springs. Written by Johnathin Cain, At Saratoga Springs Performing Art Center.
My recommendation is to go back to some of their earlier material, case in point: Steve Perry and original vocalist Greg Rollie trading vocals on the two-in-one song Feelin' That Way/Anytime, or just Steve on Anyway You Want It.
Man oh man, I so so respect you. First time seeing you & definitely gonna watch more. I love that you’re a Christian & a holy husband. Don’t ever stop. Much love & peace brother❣️✝️🙏
This band I grew up with as a young man. One of my fav bands. I'm a christian also now but still so enjoy this bands older work and the last things they have done.I couldn't agree with you more brother. Love Jesus and the Father your wife and children and fellow man.
Do Mother Father that one is good too but make sure you do the live version. Pretty much anything by Journey or Steve Perry solo career is good you won’t be disappointed with any of it. It’s a shame they never played and still never play any of their other stuff aside from the usual hits on the radio I guess that’s why everybody streams now so they can pick what they want and create their own playlist.
I have seen several others doing their first time reactions and I have to say, I really enjoyed your comments during the video and follow up at te he end.
Jonathan Cain said this stuff ng came from a higher power in coming to him per melody and all so quickly and how he just wrote this so effortlessly and so quickly. At the time, vain and his wife were experiencing some problems and they eventually divorced. All in the band for the frontiers record were having relationship issues or divorcing. Side note:. Prince contacted Journey prior to his release of Purple Rain for permissuon to release purple rain voting that his guitar work and solo melody at the end of purple rain sounded too familiar to Neal Schon"s guitar work and solo on Faithfully. Quite the compliment to journey and this big hit that is as fan favorite among Journey and Steve Perry fans.
Journey is my all time fav band Randy Jackson replaced bassist Ross Vallory when they were on tour for their RAISED ON RADIO tour circa 1986. Any live video you find from that era will be with Randy. Look for "I'll BE ALRIGHT WITHOUT YOU" (LIVE) is a great place to start.
I can relate to this so very much. My husband is military and he began his 3rd rotation in May of 2022 overseas. So, when we see each other after long periods apart, it really is getting to know each other again. Our marriage is worth it.
There is a great Shakespeare quote "the course of true love never did run smooth" it reminds me of what you are talking about. I am a fan of your reactions and have been for a while. I am glad that you found Journey.
Los 70 i 80 mis más recuerdos tan lindos i hermosos de mi vida nunca jamás los olvidaré nunca ahora tengo 54 años i todavía me ase llorar 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻está clase de música 🎧 tienen que oír esta nueva Generación de hoy en día 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
🦋🦋Absolutely 100% ''A Work of Art, Painting The Silence of Our Lives, Forever Faithfully, Through Our Speakers, Spiraling Eternally, Into Our Dreams...& The Music Plays On!'' 🤘🤘
I saw Journey in 1982 in Philadelphia! Great concert with the Rolling Stones. My son is your age and we listen to all kinds of music together. But I am into Metal forever! Love your videos. God Bless!😊
Listen to Steve's second solo album "For the Love of Strange Medicine" like "you better wait" all the tracks are great and Steve is phenomenal as he ALWAYS is.
El Canta con el Alma 💯❤️🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎵 por eso cuando lo escuchas también puedes sentirla 👂🏻🎧👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

This song was written by jothian Cain the keyboard player about his life. And Steve sang the hell out of it!!
Yes!!!
Which is ironic because he wrote that song about the struggles of being a married man and touring, but he and his wife ended up divorcing after the song was released.
"I get the joy of rediscovering you"
Best line EVER!
This whole song is breathtaking.
Agree!!!! 💯
Steve Perry has always been known as "THE VOICE"
That's why Steve Perry is called "The Voice" !
"Mother, Father" Live in Houston '81 is an absolute, ABSOLUTE must to get the full scope of "The Voice".

I love this song so much. Love Steve Perry.
Steve's voice made this song great
Steve is the best Rock vocalist in my opinion. This voice is phenomenal! He is 110% an Icon!
Devin I have watched a few “reaction videos” and you are in a class by yourself……….never interrupting too much and your reactions are perfect!!
Faithfully is definitely my favorite Journey song
Welcome to the club of loving Journey and Steve Perry
I'm a die hard Journey fan. You have to SEE 1981 concert in Houston.
Devin would be the best dude at a concert. Gets into it no matter the genre. Just genuinely loves music and gets absorbed in it. Good reaction
Their LIVE in Houston 1981 concert is PHENOMENAL! 👍✨✌️
Yes it is Kim, Steve Perry's voice puts a lump in my throat every time I hear it. AP sings well and his ascension to fame is awesome but the only problem he has is he replaced an irreplaceable singer, Steve's version is as perfect as it could ever be.
No other voice can match his. Stunning. One of my favorite songs of all time.

This song was written by Jonathan Cain (the keyboardist), for his then wife Tane' McCure. And Steve Perry turned this song into a Masterpiece!!
It's a great song but don't forget who the ringmaster was...Steve Perry. Keyboards are a supporting player.
@@marshabailey772 ....... Indeed!! That's why I said that Perry turned it into a, 'Masterpiece!!'
in my opinion Steve is the best ballads singer ever!
@@andreascala2663 ..... Yes he is!!!
And it’s a very sad state of irony because he and his wife ended up divorcing after this song was released.
Hands down. Perfect love song.
Their most known/loved song is Don’t Stop Believing. Their 1983 concert video doesn’t seem to get blocked. Check it out.
Still they ride. Steve Perry and Journey ( speechless ) ! ! ! ! 😍😍😍
The joy is rediscovering you is my Favorite line in the song too Devin! hee hee
Part of this video was filmed in Wyoming. I was in the audience, after waiting all night in the parking lot, of the Event Center in Casper, Wyoming. They were amazing ❣️

If you want your mind BLOWN with vocal perfection, listen to Steve Perry in Something to Hide.
You asked about another journey song. Patiently is beautiful.

Randy was in Journey for a later tour, Raised on Radio around 1986.

One of the greatest rock ballads ever. They just nailed it Steve Perry. What can you say....unbelievable
definitely one of my favorites from them, shows off a good bit of his singing skills in this one, man has some serious pipes on him

Mother Father live in Houston...mind blowing!
randy jackson was in "why can't this night go on forever." he was younger and thinner
I graduated in ‘83. This brings back high school memories
A lot of people think it just about Steve missing his wife and kids I think its also a song to his fans
I love you Steve
I love that you picked up on the “rediscovering you” bit of lyric. You are so right!
Journey is my all time fav band

That's an actually talented singer. They like can we put your vocals in the background for a few bars?..... and he's like ....you can try!
I forget the year, mid '80s, at the absolute height of the bands fame Steve Perry called it a wrap and went home to his family. Just like that.
Los 70 i 80 mis más recuerdos tan lindos i hermosos de mi vida nunca jamás los olvidaré nunca ahora tengo 54 años i todavía me ase llorar 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻está clase de música 🎧 tienen que oír esta nueva Generación de hoy en día 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
