an easy bake dinner is, a couple of chicken breasts, we slice it up, in baking dish pour in a jar of salsa, mix around, cover bake for 25 ish mins, remove cover plonk some cheese on top, another 20ish mins until golden, serve with rice. I grew up rural, we always took the esky for the cold goods

Good haul! 👍For those who live in Europe or the US, the Australian dollar is about a third of a Euro or a US dollar. So if you divide the Australian price by 3 you are in the ballpark. For example, 60 Australian dollars is about 20 US dollar or Euro.

Today in Canada, one Canadian dollar is equal to 1.12 Australian dollars and one US dollar is equal to 1.53 Australian dollars.

We only just discovered Costco also. Well started to shop there only two shops really
But it’s us getting ready to see how much we can fit in our freezer meat wise as we can’t process animals at this stage.
However herbs were great I also didn’t make it to the bakery part
I’ll spend more time next time as for at time only really looked as we had to go to Sydney to take our eldest daughter to Sydney to go home to Melbourne
Then last time Hubby and son got impatient as it was a Saturday
Way to many people so go back on a weekend day just my youngest daughter and myself lol

I have still never been in a Costco!
I thought you were going to go Becky style and wanted through Costco chatting at camera for a moment there.

Hi ya we have shopped at Costco but we find Aldi is Cheaper and it’s not far away . Did the research and Aldi won. There’s only the two of us. Take care and stay safe cheers from Qld 🇦🇺🥬🥦🪴♻️

Good review Amanda. I was wondering if it would work for me to, but I have a five hour trip, so I need to be well prepared. It's one of the reasons i've been looking at chest freezers and saw Corey's CHIQ review the other day (i have a CHIQ fridge), so, more to add to my think tank 😂

We’re lucky in that we do have access to closer shops when in a pinch but so many don’t! We really enjoyed the extra time at home knowing we had weeks worth of stocked food. It made Corey’s initial weeks healing at home really peaceful and kinda intimate in a way. Lots of time just the two of us ❤️🙏

@ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead that's exactly what you need in times like that. Time is precious, but necessary for healing, great to have less stress 😊 And you never know what may be around the corner, so it's nice to be ahead of the game.

We love costco 😂 but we get bulk flours, sugars, nappies, tp etc. that said, we have 2 adults, a teen (often 2 teens), a child and 2 toddlers as a minimum at home so bulk suits suits our dynamic very well. Did you go to the airport costco? The one in Casuarina is so much better, and free parking too, but it is a bit further for us in the wheatbelt. Hubby reckons its worth the extra distance though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh wow yeah went to the airport one. Maybe the casuarina location might be worth checking out! I need to do a dry goods only run perhaps 🤔

could you let me know your pumpkin soup recipe you mentioned please...

    • @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead
      @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead  4 місяці тому

For sure! I oven roast the pumpkin in big chunks skin on then scoop the flesh out. In a pot o sauté a garlic ginger paste, add a touch of turmeric powder, garam masala and cayenne pepper. Pop the roasted pumpkin in and chicken bone broth or stock then top up with water till it’s the consistency you like. I cook for a while then blitz. You could also add cream or sour cream or yogurt if you like. Or stir through some butter at tue end for a bit of richness. Oh and season to taste with salt and pepper. I like cooking it with white pepper but will crack black pepper to serve
