I am trying to figure out how to use the top 8 knobs in the q-links menu. I tried switching the pad bank the way you access top 8 pads on an 8 pad midi machine...but how do i get the top 8 knobs? Specifically im in the screen q-link mode menu

i first wanted to get me the akai mpk mini mk3 but to be honest i think i will go with the mpc touch the touch... i can get the touch for around 200 and the mk3 for 120 new lol i... i thnk once i can handle the mpc touch workflow i can upgrade to the live in the future... i already been usign mpc beats the last two weeks cant wait to use it with the touch :D
Hey Ave, do you have to change any settings in the track mute mode to allow your pads to trigger each track? Instead of doing that, my pads just play the different sounds off of a single track. I've got the MPK mini mkII and I believe you have the mkIII, but I imagine setting that up would be pretty similar if not the same...

Tiffany Anthony it’s indeed “different” but not hard to adjust to the color. I personally want the default just to match my mpc. Perhaps I’ll get it next time.
I have the MPC One as well, but I use it standalone. If I plug this in directly will the knobs on the MPK work? I have the MK2 and I gotta use midi learn to get them to work which is ass

I will get MK3 soon but want to do as much research as possible before i get it and waste time learning non-needed DAWs just cuz its "Free" I messed with FL loooong time ago. made a few decent beats. i believe i can do a lot better with a Midi. but i know it will take a lot of time learning music and how to make it on a Midi with a complex DAW. so with all of that said... is MPC Beats DAW worth learning? Also, does it offer anything different or special that isnt found in other DAWs? and is it a fast learning curve opposed to FL Studios that has too much stuff that can overwhelm a beginner? I dont remember most of it tbh... but i had fun making music.

It is definitely worth it especially with an Akai MPK3 bc it isn't integrated as good in Fl Studio so if u want to make Authentic Drums it's worth learning + the Chord Playing feature if u need some inspiration
what do you do if your pads won't map to the accordingly I wanted to set them up like how you got it but each pad I hit if all over the place. USING A Akai MK 1 I think (its the red one the everyone has)
Idk why but when I click on midi learn/enable, the pads are out of order, and are going up chromatically starting on C1. For example the first pad register as A02 on MPC rather than A01
I know this is old and all but in case someone runs into this issue... Click "Enable" if it is lit up and unplug the MPK, plug it back in and reclick "Enable". That should fix it. If THAT doesn't fix it, click "Enable" again so that it is dim... Got to the "File" menu (top left of the app... 3 lines) and choose Help>Open Startup Wizard. Follow the onscreen prompts, selecting the factory settings for your midi device and choosing advance on the next screen. You should be all set after that.
Hey man! Your videos are a blessing! I've bought a MPK mk3 and I'm having a bit of trouble.. I would like to adjust the keys velocity (not the pads) and I can't do it. The Editor does not install, it gives me an error related with my documents folder. I've reported the thing to AkaiPro. Can you give me a tip on how to do this? Thanks in advance. You rock!
I think I may have the same problem. Firstly I don't have MK3 mapping available in my Beats software. Just MK II. And also the keys velocity is really strange. I really have to hit hard the keys for them to make any sound.
@@Jux925 Yeah, the velocity is an issue. About Beats, install the version provided by the MPC app you install on your computer. I've noticed my version was somethingsomething.2 and it didn't updated because it says it's up to date but in the MPC app it says the available version is somethingsomething.3 Just install that version and you'll have the mk3 mapping done good. But the velocity issue remains. And I've also contacted Akai Pro support for this and the Editor issue. If no answers I might just have to trade this for a Novation product...
I actually had a MPD32 a few months ago and threw it away (since it didn't have any slider knobs). Answer is yes. all You have to do is plug it up, select it in your preferences/ midi tab, select "track" & "control, and go to MIDI learn.

You need the access your track mute option in the MPC beats software. It's possible that you might have your MPK mini on the right pad bank on your controller.

When I try to load a drum kit it says if I load it it will erase everything in memory which gets rid of my sample chops

IDK what you mean but if you're referring to purging your samples. You need to go to your sample pool and press the trash can icon.
