I had the same issue on a 2008 Buick Enclave, I scoped both injector and coil powers. When the injectors dropped out, so did the coils, but only set the injector codes. Huge fan been watching for years. I have worked on those vans before and I have seen the injector harness rub threw and ground on the block in the rear of the engine (unfortunately under the dog house)

I don't know about a 2015, but older ones of those vans had a problem with the engine harness rubbing through on the left front upper control arm mounting bracket.
Having the same issue with a 2016 4500 Express School Bus, replaced the fuse box and problem was fixed, thanks for the info. I must add our local Chevrolet dealer had it in stock .
I work at a GM dealership and had one of these with the same exact codes on bank one and it was a constant dead misfire on 1,3,5,7 connected a head light bulb to the power feed and it would light it nice and bright. Fuse box fixed it though
As soon you took that fuse out the fuse box and put it back in all those codes are coming back that had my mind thinking as a fuse box or wiring problem we have alot of these work vans where I work at and that's why we see a fuse box laying around inside their good work vans
I wanted to advise you to look along the wires to the injectors as, if one of them shorts to ground, all will lose power and the code will appear. The fuse will also blow or the pins will become loose if the short is very short (in time) and the fuse doesn't have time to blow but the pins get melted a bit. Now that I've seen the end of the video I understand there must be something else. Nice video anyway. I waited for one like this for a long time already. Cheers!

Well at least you got a chance to see what’s causing the problem. I think it’s too much of a coincidence that scope reacted to the gear shifter. I think your getting close Paul
Hey paul I have worked on dozens of those gm vans and had that exact problem around a dozen times and every time I monitored the power feed to the injectors and as it gets hot I would lose voltage . The cause was a bad solder joint in fuse box . I dismantled one box and I could see a lose pin on board where the solder was not holding and failed When hot . Hope it helps
you got my eyes leaking at the start you done very nice thing for long time subscriber s daughter big thumbs up mr paul danner well done calebs question reminds me of someone have said right if you change a part and the fault is not fixed what part would look at next check that part before replacing any parts
On intermittent stuff like this, once you have ruled out the obvious check points, I usually then go right to checking the harness; not tearing it apart, but just back track the harness as best you can/ use some mirrors and lights, and just look for something obvious. Because many times it can be right there in your face- a wire bending around a sharp corner and worn through, ect. ect.. We've seen it all 1000 times. Don't spend a lot of time on it-- just give it a once over and look for something to jump out at you--- and then move on. Sometimes we can get a habit of sticking with the scanner and diagrams and overlook a simple visual check. I've found that this can save you time more than you might expect.
I noticed both times you had voltage spikes you was turning the wheel left, maybe a wiring harness near the steering shaft or in the ignition wiring to the key and tumbler? Just a thought buddy
Great video as normal you also need a ground. Although supply cables joints good how's the return neutral. Your pickup is common and your not using the earth the injectors are using. I've had a loose bolt chassis bolt worked ok till drove rough roads vibrates loose. Was hard to find hope find in part 2.
When you don't have much direction to work with on such an intermittent problem, you'd might as well pull and plug all the fuses and relays a few times to eliminate that as the problem. Check any easily accessible pertinent connectors and grounds too. Don't cloud your mind with too much doubt about everything. If the problem persists, you can then start a proper diagnosis with a clearer head. It's not always useful to spend stupid time and money to prove that the problem was just a poor connection at the pin of a relay.
Your comment about charging is a tough one. I have given away a fair amount of time and money due to the fact that I couldn’t find the root cause of an issue.
Thank so much for your uplifting words Christ is the only option I know it not easy been a Christian and working in the motor industry as many of us have used swear words on a daily basis ,but my Christian faith is still with me despite both my parents passing as I said early there is nothing in this world that can compare with our Lord Jesus Christ someone you can trust in theses chaotic times .thank you for your knowledge and dedication to this craft and the great contents
So I had a case earlyer this with the same kinda van. I ran the same test then removed the fuze box and opened it and it was burned inside the fuze box same fault code but mine was not intermittent so sold a fuze box then found the tsbs on this problem
I agree with the logic that it's not likely to have the same problem across all 4 separate wires, so it must be upstream from there-- which would be the fuse box/ fuse.
Don't know if you have found the issue but I had one that come in with the Samy problem. Found the sodder on the fuse pin to be corroded. Orderd new fuse box.
Been there with this one, power distribution schematic will show the trans range sensor in the curcuit as well then you will question Mitchell's competency
Had a similar problem on that same type of van. But instead of injector codes I had misfires and a coil circuit code. Ended up being the ground on the backside of the engine. Had to take the doghouse off and wiggle the harness to get the fault to happen
Each injector is individually grounded by the ECM and then would use a main ECM ground after that. So with a faulty main ECM ground, we would be having more than just one bank of injector issues. Make sense? Great question
G1 is at the same tie point for fuse 65 that could possibly be part of the problem. If it was touching, it could draw down G2 and G3 circuits because all are tied to fuse 65.
Bad alternator? Last time I heard a GM alternator screaming like that, it would charged great when cold but would soon heat to like 500 degrees and intermittently stop charging!! Looks like the scope was picking up some ripple as well. I never look the other way on a screaming alternator since your video on a Buick? that had so much ripple to cause speedometer to jump in park!! Now I'm wondering if the entire vehicle voltage is dropping so low causing the misfire. Thanks for the video, can't wait for part 2....
The idea of FREE is that alot of people think you just plug into the vehicle and the computer tells you the problem. . I explain that testing is required beyond a code point towards a potential system problem. And TESTING IS NOT FREE. . So testing starts at x$ and additional testing is extra. And if the problem is not present when testing then the tests will possibly test ok. . . So there is only TESTING FEES to get to the problem. So the word "diagnostic fee" is never used. . So the customers options is pay for testing or guess. . And RETESTING cost just the same. . . Loose the "Diagnostic fee" , TESTING starts at whatever amount of $ .

It's not always useful to spend stupid time and money to prove that the problem was just a poor connection at the pin of a relay.
Your comment about charging is a tough one. I have given away a fair amount of time and money due to the fact that I couldn’t find the root cause of an issue.
I’m an atheist but I believe there are good people in all walks of life and all faith’s. Thumbs up. 👍🏽
Great job man 👨
I fix one a few years ago was the fuse box
good info. thank you for this video.
Thank you my brother in Christ
So I had a case earlyer this with the same kinda van. I ran the same test then removed the fuze box and opened it and it was burned inside the fuze box same fault code but mine was not intermittent so sold a fuze box then found the tsbs on this problem
I had this issue come up on a 5.3 suburban 2008 . Had a bad ground wire on the back of the head
I agree with the logic that it's not likely to have the same problem across all 4 separate wires, so it must be upstream from there-- which would be the fuse box/ fuse.
I love you talking about God.
Don't know if you have found the issue but I had one that come in with the Samy problem. Found the sodder on the fuse pin to be corroded. Orderd new fuse box.
yes sir, check out part 2!
that was nice .
Been there with this one, power distribution schematic will show the trans range sensor in the curcuit as well then you will question Mitchell's competency
Leaving us with a cliffhanger 😬
Had a similar problem on that same type of van. But instead of injector codes I had misfires and a coil circuit code. Ended up being the ground on the backside of the engine. Had to take the doghouse off and wiggle the harness to get the fault to happen
Do all 8 injectors share the same ground, or is that irrelevant?
Each injector is individually grounded by the ECM and then would use a main ECM ground after that. So with a faulty main ECM ground, we would be having more than just one bank of injector issues. Make sense? Great question
190 grand miles could be the life of the fuse box ???
G1 is at the same tie point for fuse 65 that could possibly be part of the problem. If it was touching, it could draw down G2 and G3 circuits because all are tied to fuse 65.
Well spoken,,, reality.
Looks like at the end you need to apply parking brake while in gear in the low voltage condition.
So the word "diagnostic fee" is never used. . So the customers options is pay for testing or guess. . And RETESTING cost just the same. . . Loose the "Diagnostic fee" , TESTING starts at whatever amount of $ .
wow a fun one you should have been checking battery vltage at the same time. especially with the alternator singin like that.
