I have both the 4 and 5 and I can honestly say the 4 is FAR superior. The way the software works on the 5, especially on Android, is borderline terrible in comparison to the 4, making it just an expensive selfie stick that can extend. I literally ended up putting my 5 BACK into the protective case and reassembled everything back to the 4, that's how BAD the 5 was. I really wanted it to be SO GOOD but it just missed the mark, except on the body design. I really like how they streamlined the 5 and also made it to where cords coming out of the bottom of your phone don't hit the unit's chassis as easily, but EVERYTHING else outside of that was a HUGE FAIL honestly. 😫

@@Davyyd1 That i'm not sure to be honest, but I can honestly say I found the OM5 to be MUCH more flimsy than the 4. So I feel like the 4 will be more stable based on my experience. I've even had the OM5 just RANDOMLY drop 100% stabilization (like its in standby mode) while i'm recording and its got my phone in stabilized landscape mode. VERY disappointing. The OM5 has VERY LITTLE weight resistance so it almost, for lack of better words, FOLDS under pressure, whereas the OM4 is way more heavy duty and can take a beating and won't fold or lose your phones stabilization at random like the 5 can unfortunately.

How is the motionlapse feature on this gimbal? I had the Zhiyun Smooth X. For the price, it was a pretty good buy. But one of the reasons why I wanted to jump on the smartphone gimbal, is for the timelapse/motionlapse capablilty. And the problem with the Smooth X, was that I couldn’t use the motionlapse feature for durations more than 10min. Now, if you are ever only going to be doing short timelapse videos, this is not a big issue. But say you want to do a motionlapse of a sunrise or sunset, you will definitely need to do more than 20min of video capture. And the Smooth X fails in this matter. When you assign point A on the far right, to point B on the far left. Most times, 10min capture duration or less, does a decent job of motionlapse between point A and point B. But anything longer than 10min, the gimbal pans for a very short amount (a fraction of the full distance between point A and point B). Then gets stuck the rest of the time. But you can still see a bit of skipping movement in the final video. Which leads me to believe it’s getting stuck. But that’s another story about the Smooth X. With the OM 4 SE, what I’m wondering, does the timelapse on this gimbal work properly? Can I capture a motionlapse longer than 20min with no issues, using the full gamut of assigned points? As well, what are the features/options within the Timelapse are available? Ie. Can set the speed of the pan? Or does the Mimo app calculate the speed, based on interval and capture duration? Thanks.
I just tried to use this with my iphone 13 max, and it could not balance and when I tried to switch it to vertical it seemed not strong enough for the weight of the iphone 13 max, have you ever experienced this?
Thanks for the useful review. At 4:20 you say that "we have a zoom slider that... zooms". Well does the zoom rate change proportionally with the amount of movement or is it simply a switch with fixed rate of zoom? I returned the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 that I bought the other day because the wheel on the side that zooms is, well, too small. Worse yet if you roll that wheel too slowly, in order to make an artistically slow pull back in zoom, say, well at some rate of rotation it stops adjusting the zoom. So there's no way to zoom slowly and if you try to ride the threshold you end up zooming and not zooming which is way so annoying. So my hope is that this version of gimbal with it's slider for zoom allows for proportional control of the zoom and the slowest slew rate is quite slow. I'd like to be able to run the full range of zoom on my iPhone 14 Pro continuously over like six seconds or more.

Yes you can. I actually used this on a video I have coming out in July. I walk around explaining something using the front camera to record and it tracks my head to keep me in frame
I bought a cheaper one yesterday and downloaded mimo for a Samung S20 and it still doesnt show up the 4K 60fps in this app just 30fps. With the filmic pro you can get the 4K 60fps with it but the you cant use the story modes

I wonder, has DJI solve the problem that is with the DJI OM4.. the micro circulair movement.. i discovered that problem when taking night/ astro shots with the pixel 4A5G and used the om4 as a tripod to direct the phone to a area in the sky with stars.. the pictures had moving blur.. then i checked it inside my home and zoomed to the max to a point a bit away and saw live that the camera was moving around in tiny circles. It does that in the mimo app but also in the google camera it self.. you can try it easy.. put the DJI on the table and just zoom in to the max and watch the image on ur screen.. if it is motionless its solved, but when i do this with the om4 the phone is moving in little circles. so it must be a hardware problem DJI could or did not want to solve, i also saw on the forums that i am not the only one with that problem.. All of this and the lack of moving possibility when shooting a movie does make the DJI not something i would buy again.. Kind regards from the Netherlands, Pascal

From what I gathered, the phone clip if slightly larger. I thought the 4 didn't have the magnetic ring attachment that sticks to your phone, it was sold separately...but I could be wrong.
