I spent hundreds of hours closely analyzing every single one of Jordan Burroughs' matches to learn what techniques and strategies made this guy untouchable for 4 straight years.
It was so much more than just being fast or explosive. His approach to wrestling was so genuinely unique no one could figure him out no matter how much film on him they could gather. Until now. I'm going to show you everything I've learned and break it down for you in the simplest ways I can.

Sonny Brown you see the Sadulaev? I’d love to cover him but actual bent at the waist wrestling has never been for points in my life (my HS was violent, for real so no combat lol). I can certainly appreciate the rule set and dominance and movement well enough to contribute though haha

I’m actually waiting for the day after Tokyo 2020 to release part 3 as it would be nice to conclude the series with his retirement. Also, there’s so much film on him already, he’s still competing and I’d rather not hurt his chances.
At the moment I’m working on a 1 part study of the evolution of Kyle Dake’s hand fighting and motion 2009 to present. I want to say 2 months but life keeps getting in the way.

Amazing work, thanks for sharing with us! One question: When Jordon drops and goes for the ankle (like he does after the whistle blows, e.g. 4:13), would this be considered an ankle pick? Coming from Grappling/BJJ I'm trying to get a hang of ankle picks by studying wrestling footage lately. Usually the ankle pick is accompanied by a sort of tie to push the other man over. But in these instances Jordon does it from the open, without a tie. Is this still called an ankle pick or called differently?
When its done without a tie its generally called a low single

You have determination to watch 100s of hours of wrestling holy, Iike wrestling but watching it can get real boring.
Very true. That’s why I only really watch athletes that push the action, early Burroughs, Nolf, Green, DT, Steiber, Retherford etc. Another thing I do is just skip ahead and only watch scoring sequences. Saves a lot of time but didn’t need to do that with Burroughs

yaboy Ahah! They are about some observations some friends and I noticed about things in a game that weren’t supposed to be there. It’s not at all related to the analysis I’ve been uploading recently but I kept them uploaded bc they are special to me and we had fun making them 😅
