"Hes dead Jim" - springs to mind, And of course, its always tradgic, the consoles dead. Any console dying off, is a bit tradgic. However, I am certain most people missed out on the WiiU being basically dead, and now going "Wow! Nintendos back with something Wii-not-related" thats a "go anywhere tablet thing!" - Heck, In order to get one myself (as my post gets regulated by others who live with me, and they complain if I order anything gaming related) I passed it off as a tablet.
Wii U was the perfect console for this game... Nintendo and Bandai Namco, you guys had one job

Vampirian Blood Clones don't take much time to make, if it's slightly different then it would be a different character, DLC was a good thing, while Brawl is slower then Melee, Sm4sh is faster, but yes Sm4sh is slower then Melee

I think you meant to say that Melee had nearly just as many clones as in Smash 4, while having half the roster AND the roster was completely unbalanced, unlike Smash 4 where nearly every character gets use.

Victor Olavarria I mean Miyamoto and Nintendo developed it so they probably needed Nintendo's permission to put in on in the first place so it would be weird if Nintendo allowed them to put it on but without the voice.

Also why would Mario be the announcer? The only reason I can think is because of the good ties between Nintendo and Namco.
In a way, this was almost a precursor to Nintendo Land's "Mario Chase."

Couldn't they have done this with an app for the off screen player? Seems dumb to need two consoles.
foxhound6364 They could've, but have you tried playing PAC-MAN on mobile? It doesn't control nearly as well.
But a 15 dollar controller for a phone is a lot cheaper than a 300 dollar switch that are still hard to find and you won't use because you already have one. Thankfully I helped a friend get a switch so playing this should be easy for me, but for a lot of people two switches in one place is not an easy task. A phone app, even if it didn't have controller support and only had touchscreen control, would have been appreciated as an option and would have made it the most convenient way to play PAC-MAN vs. As it is now, its about as inconvenient to set up as the original was with the only advantage being that they consoles don't need to be physically connected anymore.
BUT THIS WAY, THEY CAN FINALY HAVE A WAY TO DO ONLINE SCREENING!
The whole point of the player playing as Pac-Man having a screen to himself (GBA on the GCN, DS with DLP, Switch Wireless Play) is so that the ghost players don't cheat by peeking at the Pac-Man player's portion of the screen. That's actually a very smart decision on Namco's part.
(That's also why non-split-screen play on Switch only has ghosts.)

I was disappointed that the Switch wasn't like the Wii U with its seconds screen allowing asymmetric gamrplay.
Problem solved.
Now the only thing another Nintendo console has that the Switch doesn't is 3D.
TripleJump sadly an expensive way to achieve the same thing. I too hoped that the switch would have been able to transmit data to the dock wirelessly to display on the screen alongside a second screen on the tablet itself

I agree, but it's still something. Maybe Nintendo could release a controller like the Wii U GamePad which doesn't work independently of the Switch but is instead specifically for games like this.

i have pacman vs along with pacman world 2 on my GC but never played it cuz i never got a GB connect cable

For single console, they should consider online play with support for the Nintendo Switch Online App. Which really isn't single console but you get the point

I don't get why there are only 10 games in Namco Museum. They probably won't make a successor for it on the switch like they did on the PlayStation which got 6 titles. So why not include 30 games or more? I don't see the effort as it is basically the same Namco Museum game since many years. They only changed the title selection and the bezel images with every iteration.

Oh my gosh, YES! I was scrolling through the comments hoping somebody would realize the potential! Four Swords Adventures was my favorite multiplayer experience, but it was hindered because of those blasted linking cables! (I never managed to get enough of them, only ever owned one, and still own one. I could buy more now, but my Gameboy Advances are long gone, as in...the batteries seem weak, so I didn't bother getting new cables...)
I just played this with four players. It's great and very fun. However i hope that Namco/Nintendo fix the connection issues with a patch. We had a very difficult time getting the 2 Switch consoles connected and keeping the connection. The game would also lag during actual gameplay. I never experienced these kinds of problems when playing it on the GCN or DS. Again, I believe that this really needs to be fixed. It's too fun for it to not be working correctly. It might also help to show everyone how to get all four controllers connected. You have to go into the options to connect each controller. Just setting up the controllers on the Switch itself, before hand, will not have them working when you get into the game.
I wonder if I can try it with a Nintendo Switch/(OLED Model) (as the Main Screen) and a Nintendo Switch Lite (as the Sub Screen)...

Not being able to play as Pac-Man kind of defeats the entire purpose of the game... As others have said, WiiU would have been a much better-suited console for this game. Still, as long as you have TWO Switches, it should all run as advertised...

It's a shame they couldn't maintain the asymmetric multiplayer without the requirement of another Switch... if you already have a soft-modded Wii it seems more worth it to just install Nintendont, buy Gameboy Advance and a gba to gc link cable, and go that route.

The story of Pac-Man Vs. has been lost to time. This game was not made together with Nintendo and Namco. Nintendo made it exclusively themselves which is why Mario is the announcer. A few hours before E3 began that year Nintendo approached Namco and showed them what they had and got permission to show it off at their E3 speech. Then Nintendo more or less gifted the game to Namco to do as they please with it. I don't know if money was involved but it kind of sounds like there wasn't.
Although this is a free download, I prefer the Championship 2 Pacman Game on the Nintendo Switch. I felt iffy & skeptical about this game.
I played the DS version with my cousins almost every time we visited. I have so much nostalgia with this.

It makes me think of the Luigi's mansion Nintendo land game. This is probably where they got idea for the Nintendo land game.
This is much more viable now that a lot of people are getting secondary consoles for Animal Crossing for spouses/siblings/roomates.

This really would have worked better on the Wii U. Then you would only need one console, just have the player use the tablet controller.
The only real way to play this is with two Switches, lame. This is absolutely a sleeper hit, though. I played it on DS.
Here's a stupid question: if they have a system that has a screen that can be turned vertically, why don't they use it vertically?
NukeOTron some arcade rereleases on Switch do, but if you ask Namco now, they'll say because they want main display to be docked or something like that. Would have been a nice option to have at least.
