Great cooper find. The other scrap metal you pick up for Taco Stacks was very nice of you to lend him a helping hand. You are a good friend Take care & thanks for sharing.
It's just easier for some people to toss stuff since they don't have a load of stuff for scrap or know what going to the scrap yard entails - also, they may not want to pay for a load at the dump. If they put it on the curb instead of in a garbage can, at least scrappers can easily see it to take it.
Every time I drive by the original trash bag house, my heart hurts a bit thinking of how much fun that was. Hopefully a new trash bag house will emerge!
Your find of "free money" brings back a memory when I found "free money" I the form of neatly rolled United States Federal Reserve Notes...$300 worth! The roll of bills was laying in the gutter near a park area. I looked around the area for perhaps a purse, billfold, or other container...nothing. Went home a happy fellow! Another situation sometime later, I found a wallet, again near a curb. This one had $500, as well as a driver license, and ID with the owner's address. The house was nearby and I took it there...the owner was a senior lady and was literally in tears when I returned it to her. She wanted to give me $50 as a reward, however, I refused it and was happy to make her day! She had just returned home from her bank with the cash! I Good trip for you!
You find the coolest things!! ….Wow that’s a lot of copper!!….Nice haul! …Hope I get to watch more videos…sigh…Another hurricane on it’s way…just a cat 3 so far…Ian was a cat 5
That was a nice trash day with excellent weather conditions and some pretty neat finds. Big score on the copper scrap, the rule of thumb is that you will actually get around five bucks for two pounds. So, congrats on these easily earned 61,- Dollars ! 👍 My price for the Monopoly game at our flea markets would be around ten bucks, if it´s complete. Don´t forget your actual appointment at Bloomsbury P.O., Renée, because more profit is awaiting you ! 😉 Hope you are having a good time, and see you on the next one ! Greets from GER, U.
I'm off to the post office shortly! The clips in this video are actually from late winter up until a few weeks ago, hence why you sleeve the sleeve of a winter jacket :0) You know good trash days are few & far between when you've been saving up clips since winter! It has to get better though, I'm sure!
@@PaperandMoose It was a smart decision to put these clips together. I didn´t even see your winter jacket but recognized your different hair style which is more important to me. 😄 Keep it up, after the copper scrap finds I am pretty sure you´ll find some silver next time (bars or even coins). 🤏
😭😭😭You left a whole tote of Vera Bradley purses on the curb! Those purses are very expensive new. I have to buy used ones to afford them. The purses wash like a dream and wear well. Vera Bradley is a big brand name in Indiana. 🙂🙂🙂
Hey Rene - Congratulations on the copper find!! I always love your trash picking episodes. Would love to see you find some of the bags like you found in the past with all the neat stuff in them.
I had a great Pre-Calc & Geometry teacher in high school that made math enjoyable, but can't say I've used any of knowledge since my high school days :0)
Thank you Renee for this fun video🤩 I just love it when you find good things in the trash👍👵 The unknown mystery of it all is great to watch. I sure learn something, and have fun learning from you and your videos. My mind wonders where ever you go. I can't, so I love watching you. You could be my grandchild......Ha. Much love and luck. beautiful woman😘❣
Nice copper find Rene..😮 Gotta love it finding free $ in the garbage..😍 That is a tank of gas or a nice meal/lunch for two..😊😉 Well done.. Take care..👍💕🔥👊
Nice find on the copper. If someone found $69 dollars in bills on the curb, they'd talk about it for years. But they pass by the copper. The planter was nice, too, if that's what it was. Was it some sort of bulk pickup day in that town, or just a normal trash day? All our stuff has to be in city-issued bins except 2X year, I think. But we live on a busy street and can put almost anything on the curb and it's gone in 30 minutes, trash day or not. Thanks for the video & have a great Monday!
The copper wasn't even out on a trash day! I was leaving an estate sale and traveling back to a family party, I turned down a street and there was the copper! Call it fate to have randomly driven down that road on that day! Trash is so odd in certain townships. One township you can put out everything & anything, the next town over everything has to be in a bin. Like you said, even in the bin towns, people still do put stuff outside the garbage cans knowing it will be picked up. If it isn't, my guess is they just toss it in a trash bag the next week. Of course, then there's the bulk trash like mattresses, TVs, big furniture pieces that also vary by town. They sure like to make things confusing! Hope that today was a good start to the week for you!
My friend got brand new underwear at a yard sale for $2. If I find texts in the trash, they become origami, or other papercrafts. I got some nice wrapping paper someone was tossing yesterday. Book pages are nice to age with used tea bags- not collector's items, of course. Tina, Al's wife
It's nice we have some trash picking videos from you again, even if you don't find so much. That tooled leather bag was a score, I'd have loved to have a closer look at it, without the plastic around it. You know, I like you have got me a sewing machine for my future projects (lol) only that it still doesn't have a needle, but hopefully it will soon. Those other bags (were they VB?) would have tempted me for a future project 😉
Renee !!! Thanks for taking us along with you! I appreciate you! I was thinking It would be sweet if you found scrap? And you did ! So cool you found copper just in a pile waiting for you!!! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
Hey Renee. Best trash picking ever. You made money in a short time. That is wonderful. And you also found some good stuff. Were their purse 👛👜 in that bin. They might have been Vera Bradley bags in that bin, bc I have Vera Bradley here at home. And I should be getting more bags soon. You should have taken them. They are quite expensive. All in all you did amazing. God Bless you Renee. Hope to see more trash picking soon. Love you. Mari'a. 👜👛💙💙💙💙❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍👍👍👍💜💜💜
I think they were Vera Bradley, the issue was their condition as the straps were heavily worn, threads coming out/undone, and some rips. For me, I know that they would be very hard sellers at my market due to their condition. Hopefully someone else came along, found them, and could put them to good use!
Hello Renee. Hey it’s a great day when you find $61 in the trash. I also loved that planter you picked up. Pretty cool. And I love a short video from you it’s better then no video. Thanks . Take care. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🥰🥰👋👋👋💯💯💯💯💯💯
It looked as though there was some brass on that copper. Scrap yards will downgrade (pay a lower amount) for the copper if there is brass attached. If you get more copper like that a hack saw works good to cut the brass off. Yards don't care about how much copper is on the brass but don't want brass in their copper so will pay less if they have to process the copper to clean it of the brass.
$61 in copper! SCORE! That'll fill the gas tank if nothing else. I'd have bagged the whole box of bags. Worn Vera Bradley isn't worth a pile, but every so often you find a purse with jewelry or money in it. The purse itself can go to the flea for a few bucks or back into the trash from whence it came.
Renee, is this an older video? I see you are wearing a winter coat. Great trash picking video anyway. 😊. Forget my question as you answered it at the end of the video. 😂
We have alleys with dumpsters in Midland, TX. I live near Midland College so there are lotsa apartments where students live. I walk my GF dog around and wait for move-outs and landlord put outs. One cannot believe what students leave behind.
There is a college in this area that has a big sale on everything left behind by the students. Like you said, it’s crazy what some don’t take home with them!
If I was you I would of took the entire tote of bags because I would at least sold what I would have got for free as 💯% profit. Even if it was $10 a bag that's $10 you didn't have before. Sometimes those quilted purses are $50 to $100's of dollars. He just have to check the inside tags of each one of those purses to find a treasure. I have a quilted purse that I found at a dollar yard sale and it's worth $300.
The bags were all ripped and pretty worn. I'd be lucky to even get $1 for one because I would hear "Well, the bag straps have lots of damage, I'll have to try to get the stains out, there's some rips on the edges... Would you take $1 for all of them?" So that's a stack of purses that I'd get $1 for taking up space in my car that could have been used for items that would sell for much more.
Way to go with that copper!! You even had a dove cheering for you in the background! 🕊
Great cooper find. The other scrap metal you pick up for Taco Stacks was very nice of you to lend him a helping hand. You are a good friend
Take care & thanks for sharing.
It always amazes me that people throw out good items instead of donating them. Thank you for saving things from ending up in the landfill 🌞
Not everyone has a way to transport items for donation
It's just easier for some people to toss stuff since they don't have a load of stuff for scrap or know what going to the scrap yard entails - also, they may not want to pay for a load at the dump. I had to buy a piece of oak to repair an antique table, which you guys find in the free pile. Not to worry, $2 end table at the Outlet for repurposing

I was thinking the same thing. Come on trash bag house 👌😊 great score with the copper though 😁
I love trash picking day. I love the bags being reviewed when you find them.
Happy Monday always glad to get to see you hope you have a wonderful day 🤠

Thanks! I love the ringer style vintage shirts :0)
more and more people are doing this so you gotta get out early or the night before. Nice finds either way Rene.
Always a new adventure with your unique wisdom.
I was screeching ‘get those text books!!’ - sure they could have been at least as good as the copper - which was excellent btw…
The copper was a great find! At least you still give it the old try when heading out into the wilds of Trash Hood. 👍👍
I know one day I'll be driving down a street & there will be another trash bag house waiting just for me!
@@PaperandMoose Fingers crossed 🤞, that was a great gift at the right time. It was exciting every time 👍👍
Awesome! collecting that copper. You just never know unless you look. ~ Texas
If that BettyCrocker cook book is the first edition it is worth a lot of money
That's why people vandalize vacant houses and strip the walls for copper!!! The price of copper is high.

Ahh, glad you took it yourself!
Ya, Taco Stacks is one great teacher.❤️
Yeah for you!!! Love to watch you trash pick, no matter what you find.
Yay on the copper!
Nice find with the scrap. I also have been using that cookbook for years, look up the Texas Chili, it’s a favorite in our house!
