For those asking, here is the link to the tool used in the video. It was kindly sent to me by @nubianlocktool www.nubianlocktool.com/
What is the name of that white paper-like scalp/parting measurement tool your mom used? I'm preparing to start my micro loc journey.
Do you sell pins?
@@lamishamoore-carroll3219 I got the idea from queeneleem’s channel here on UA-cam.
How does one measure the parting?
I’m getting established tomorrow and I was so curious as to how it’s actually done and this video was great for me to see a up close and personal view. Thank You!
I'm loc'd. I've got microlocs. My locs turned 3 months last week. This is my second set tho. With my first, I combed them out after 6 months. I wasn't okay with how they were turning out. I wanted smaller locs. So I did the second install myself. Took me 4 days tho. I'm very satisfied with the outcome. Oh and I use 2 point because it's the easiest for me. 😊😊
4 days is pretty fast for diy. Good for you!
@@JOSETTEBIANCA Thank you for the compliment.🤗🤗
How long after you combed out your locs before you did your micro locs
@@sandraross8642 I started the 2nd set within a week of combing out the first one
Do you have a video of how you did them on yourself?
That is true true love from a mother the way she is pulling it through. Her fingers is remarkable.
Her mom is the real deal this is how it should be done beautiful work
I work on my daughters locs. A friend in Ghana got them started when we lived there. She took a few out when she was younger and I want to fix those areas. She loves her locs and her hair is really coily like yours. So helpful to see how you start with your fingers.
I love you for this seriously!!! Your hair is so beautiful. This helped me loads and I’m saving so much money. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for showing I’ve had 2 sets of locs and this time I want sista locs I will be purchasing the tool today your mom sure showed exactly how to install 😊
I’m 100% gonna loc my hair now. Thank you for this video!!!
Im on my 2nd set of locs as well. And decided to go smaller with this set too. My first set was 78 locs which I had for over 9 years. My 2nd set is 180 ish and currently locked for a little over a year. I love locs! I use a 2 point rotation because my fine hair needs all the body it can get.
This makes so much sense... only doing a 2 point rotation so the locs can fill out more! I have fine hair and have cut my locs off 3 times because I was just dissatisfied with the look... great advice.
I'm really thinking of starting over too 😢 I'm about to hit a year, time flew
Amazing!! Thank you so much for this, so helpful.
I'm thrilled that I can across your video, my hair is very short but I am definitely going to get my hair installed with micro locs, and just enjoy the journey.❤
Im going to get micro locs and I’m excited I’m only 16 and I think it’ll be a perfect style for when I’m older, I wish I got them when I was younger but thanks for the tutorial 😊
Yess I wish I started in middle school or high school 😭💔
Wish i could start them now😒 15, some ppl are haters
Great video. She did an amazing job
I am 2-days microloced! So I have a long way to go..lol. But I'm going to enjoy this journey and process. I also have 4C hair so I can't wait to see how fast my hair will actually loc!
Congrats! ☺️
How long did it take to install your locs? Where they installed by a loctician?
@seritablack7735 yes I went to a loctiction to install took about 10-hours.
I'm considering locking my hair and researching methods. Thank you for the video.
This is super helpful. Mine were installed by someone else but the bottom row slipped out almost immediately because it’s so much looser than the top and this finally helped me reinstall them appropriately
I have watched all of your videos. Just combed out my 4th set of locs using comb coils. I didn’t like them they were too big and now I’m about to starts microlocs today. My mom will be installing them. IM SO EXCITED!!!!!!
Ooo congrats! 👏🏾👏🏾
We already have locs. I'll be 3 years loced next month, and my daughter's microlocs will be 3years old in December. Fun fact: your first set of locs were my inspiration to get locs. I wanted mine that exact number and size. I ended up with about 240. My daughter's locs are more within the range of your new set. Thanks for inspiring 🙏🏾
I need a Locticion to do my hair I have 4C hair ASAP! I love your hair it’s so beautiful before and after loc’d
Thank you for this detailed video! Best tutorial I have seen! New sub here❤
Very detailed! Thanks for the slowdown!
I’m locd❤️ I plan on being a loctician and I wanted to start some sister locs on a client. Ty for the video goo mom
Awesome video! I just cut my first set of locs a few months ago, but I want to do micro locs for my next set.
I finally found the perfect video to start my sisterlocks journey, because I have a lot of hair and long already, they want to charge me $1500.00. And I see why and the time it takes. But I'll do mine. Really detailing
This video isn't sisterlocs though
I was quoted that also in march but that was a sisterlocks consultation.
NEVER HONESTLY WANTED ANY ONE TO INSTALL JUST WANTED ASSISTANCE OR SUPPORT WHILST DOING
Very helpful, I would love to try it on my daughter 😊. Thank
Thank you 🙏🏾 restarting locs on my daughter this time with this method instead of traditional ones with two strand twists.
Thank you for sharing. I was planning to Do mine
Congrats on your loc journey
I love this, so glad you made this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing the video. I want to get sister locs. I’m just looking to see what’s the best for me.
Thank you for the install, I want micro locks, hair is about 4 inches long, this video is very helpful to me.
I am planning to get microlocs and came across your video during my research prior to getting my microlocs. Your video was helpful with my understanding of the microlocs install.
Glad it was helpful!
I want to do my own starter locs and this video is a good tutorial thanks.
Great explanation thank you
I thought this was a beautiful process. Im in desperate search of a loctician who will be protective of my hair since I’ve taken sooooo much time and care in my own natural hair journey and I actually considered doing it myself but just know I don’t have the patience to accomplish the results I’d be looking for. Definitely found the video to be a enjoyable watch.Even saw it as a beautiful bonding time between you and your mom🤎
Thanks. Just starting my locs
I’m get my locs right now and my excited
thank you! very informative!
God bless you! Thank you so much for sharing this video!
Glad it was helpful!
Great informative video!
Very helpful video ❤
This was the best investment for me.. team natural
Am gona do this to myself.thanks for this video
I’m on my first set of locs. Surprised to see it’s been 5 months and I love my locs. I installed mine myself. I started with 2 strand twists so my hair shrank up a lot. I have 210 locs. i have tried 2 point and 4 point rotations for my reties. I hope to decide which retie method I will use going forward.
Your mom is the best omg!
This is by far the best explanation I've ever heard. Thank you so much!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
This is irrelevant but your voice is so soothing! I would love to loc my hair in about 2 years time
I just cut my locs out and will be getting my micro locs installed Thursday. I can’t wait. My locs were not doing it for me.
Thank you so much for not playing music your voice is so beautiful and clear❤❤❤
MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY!!
Thank you I've subscribed
What an awesome and simple video!😊 thank you so much for sharing sis 🙏🏻❤️ how long did it take her to finish up all the locs?
Yes pls looking for a loctician in the Houston area thanks love your locks
Wow!! Thank you!
I am planning on doing them myself
Sending this to my loc'd mom
I had locs from 2006-2018, cut them off end of 2018 and rocking short natural hair. Now I want microlocs, definitely would like more than 300
Great video.
I love your locs ❤ they are beautiful. I started my journey August 2020. I have been going strong every sense 🎉 I went with the palm rolled method, and they are some fatties 😂 I love them though. I wish I would have went a little smaller but its all good.
That's good Thank so much
Great Job, Wow
I have locs already, I cut them a few months ago but I’m thinking really long and hard about combing them out & get this instead since cutting them I don’t really like how they look now. Although I know shrinkage is inevitable but I think I’ll like these more
I’m going to try and do my mothers hair ♥️
I have locks, I just enjoy watching, all of the different, ways, how individuals start, I am a locticians myself.
I want microlocs with interlocing to start off, I tried previously with braided roots and then 2 strand twist but I started to experience unraveling and foreseen alot of bunching in my future so I combed them out😩 now I still have that yearn for them and planning to possibly do it myself
Here watching
Hello, I just want to say; this video was so seriously useful for me. I am starting my loc journey. I wanted to ask, how long did this process take your mom, if I may ask?
I Started My Loc Journey In July & I’m 5 Months In … I Just Wish I Would’ve Watched More Videos Before Starting My Journey Because I Don’t See A Lot Of People Who Are Interlocked Like I Am,So It’s A Lot Harder For Me To Mange & Handle
When you do your 2yr update. Or even a separate video, if this applies; could you talk about postpartum shedding. If any
Yes once postpartum shedding starts, I will definitely talk about it on my channel.
I want to start my sisterlocks journey really soon I am forwarding these about to be 48 years old I don't know what really took me so long but now I'm at the point where my hair is thin but there's enough of it to start a journey what type of hair would you recommend to start the journey off
I'm salt and pepper natural soft curly hair thinking about getting sisterloc but I'm not sure how it will look on me my granddaughter will do she thinks it well look nice with the texture of my hair I think I'm going to try 😮
I’m thinking of doing mines myself
I started my loc journey during the pandemic. I cut my perm out and stayed with an afro. 💇🏾♀️
Helo. What's the difference between siaterlocks and microlocks?
Looking for a Loctician I have extension with my loc but need help
am planning on starting over from regular locs to these i have alopecia
Hi All, Im looking to get microlocs installed. Any recommendations for NYC area?? 🙏🏾
Today is my 2 year loc anniversary. I have microlocs like you.
Congrats!!
Where are you and mom located? I would do anything to have mom start my locs!!! She is the GREATEST and so very patient 💕 💓 💛 ❤️
I'm getting locs. I need to read about the journey
Hello I'm Schwanna, I started my locks on March 19th, and I have very soft edges all around my head and I get a lot of slippage. What can I do to keep the perimeter of my locks from coming out. My hair is very short as well. Comments please😊
So out of curiosity, can microlocks be started using either the braided, coiled, or two strand twist method? I have seen all the above and the one thing they all seem to have in common is interlocking.
I want to do these on myself
How many days did that take? Wow!
I wnt 2 put n oso knw hw 2 do it.
I’m thinking about getting micro in January. I’m scared but I’m so ready. I wanna do it myself. I would love to talk to you. Thanks
Pls I want to know how to do it thank you
I want some it’s just so hard to find the rite person in ATL to do mine sista locs but I’m loooking
I adopted 2 AA girls and have learned how to do crochet installs, box braids, countless styles with braids and bands, by watching thousands of UA-cam videos but I think this would be stunning on one of the girls and would love to try. So, I have some questions for you: 1. Is it better when the hair is wet, damp or dry? 2. I saw you don’t use products in a comment, am I supposed to moisturize prior just not after done or not at all? 3: she has thin stranded 3C hair, is that strong enough for locs? I don’t want them to break off.
Thank you so much for your videos and instructions!
Waiting for answers too. Good questions
When I got my sis locs, my hair had to be dry and stripped of all oils. This is good for parting. My loctician did use a spray bottle when needed. It consisted of tea tree oil, coconut oil, and mostly water. This also helped with parting. No oils should he used for moisturizing the first year or at least until they lock. If dry scalp occurs, the tea tree and coconut water oil is perfect.
What is the needle thing called
I started my sister locs 5 days ago😅❤
Hi how is it going? I want sister locs but it’s just too costly thinking micro locs instead
@azinity24 yeahhh lol i jumped the gun 6 months ago and have learned alott since then ! 🤣 I am DIY and I have microlocs! ♥️ but its okay I love them
I really want to do my own but I’m so scared of messing up the base/foundation I do not want my locs breaking off due to the base being too small for the loc 😩I’ll want to two strand twist them thou, I might give it a try I love micro locs 😭
As long as you take your time with the parting/grid you’ll be fine👍🏾
what’s the name of that tool? I used a longer tool for mine & they didn’t stay interlocked they unraveled..
I want to start to loc my hair but I’m doing it myself and I don’t know what to do 😊
I'm thinking about starting instant locs but now idk 😭 my hair is very kinky coily like yours and to think about I used to interlock my hair with my finger for fun didnt know what I was doing tho thought I was getting knots in heads 😂
My 12 year old grand daughter has locs one month in. Was thinking about unlocking and sister locking but I think we gonna just ride the locs out
Wanting to get locks
I did what you did, it makes the lock tight. I curled my hair with my fingers after seeing your video so far only got 2 done my whole imma do my whole head just like you did. Thank you
I just started my second set of locs two days ago on Halloween. I did two-strand twists. I didn’t have the first set long (maybe 7 months) because it didn’t go as planned partially due to my not using the right product to establish them and retwist them, but I got a really product this time around and am so glad I finally have my second set installed cause I was so ready to start over. I’m so happy to be starting my loc journey again, on the right foot this time 😩😂😊
Hi I’ve been loc’d for 2months now ur video was my inspo to start on my short hair, but I’m suffering from a lot of slippage…I started mines with short hair like you and lot of my locs in the back are slipping out all the way, what can I do to help them stay?
Heyy definitely make sure that you are braiding and banding or bunching and banding. That helps a lot. Also make sure to be very gentle when you are washing your locs.
You can also braid (plat) your locs that have a lot of slippage. The braided locs will not shrink as much as your 2 strand twist locs.
Will you do Mico install on someone else
