As an Afghan, I would like to thank you for showing the positive side of Afghanistan that the corporate media do not want to show the world. About the people who asked you to take their children to the US have a story. Most Afghans want to leave the country because of extreme poverty and unemployment. They see their neighbors and close relatives sending them pictures and throwing lavish parties and think the US is a heaven where everyone gets rich. As soon as they land in the US, they find themselves with a culture shock and factory work, some go to depreciation and loneliness. A lot of Afghans returned to Afghanistan when they left the country back in 2021 because of loneliness, language barriers, and racism.
This is very true. I used to work with some Afghan families who came to the Atlanta area as refugees years ago. They were so warm and welcoming but it was definitely difficult for them culturally and financially.

Thank you for sharing this video so many of us especially westerners have such a negative view of Afghanistan and so many places in the world. Your videos give us a different view and perspective. I tell people that a majority of people around the world desire and want the same things. It is up to us to step outside our comfort zone and travel, talk to people and see the world. Thank you again cause this was really stepping outside so many peoples comfort zone and you did it. It was nice to see the other side of Afghanistan besides the one that the media only shows.
As an Afghan, firstly i thank you for the video and secondly i would be delighted to go with you on your next trip to Afghanistan to show some beautiful scenery to the outside world 🌎 that has only seen guns 🔫 and violence on the mainstream media about Afghanistan 🇦🇫. DIL, do you mean rich in natural resources?? From what I can see, the people are very kind. When MaryJane said all the people she talked to, said they were happy that the Americans were gone. I don’t believe that means, they hate America. I believe they’re are just saying, they want to run their own country, and they also don’t want the Taliban controlling their lives either. They just want to be free?? Did I get it partially correct?? 🙂

Bless you. ✨This made me cry because I too have done quite a bit of travel to see for myself how people live and survive in this world. I have not been to even half the countries but I can feel you, and what your seeing and going through. I had the pleasure to visit Pakistan years ago, and while returning home in a taxi a very nice Taliban gentleman loaded up my food in the taxi. I was totally caught off guard by the kindness I experienced while there. India was the same. We as Americans always hear how we are so much better as a country and people, but traveling taught me not to listen and to be kind and experience others in the world. Thank you,I throughly enjoyed this✨
A very wonderful short documentary in Afghanistan visit. Seems you've met some really wonderful people along the way and it's seems they really enjoyed you being there as well. I really appreciate this upload.
I really love seeing this It gives me a different perspective. At the same time I wonder about the accuracy in regards to the daily living experience for most women there. They treated you really well and allowed you to go into a lot of places. However, the women there don't get treated that way. So it's hard for me to tell what life is really like, there.
Our women are our honour and dignity. No harms can ever be done to them. Not by us and and we wont let anyone else harm them. For 20 years americans forces were breaking in our houses raping our women and shooting our children. Then they tell the media they came to bring peace. Alhamdullila we humiliated all the occupation forces at the end. Any tourist is welcomed in our country but if you come with guns then we will decide your fate.
As an Afghan, I would like to thank you for showing the positive side of Afghanistan that the corporate media do not want to show the world. I need this to be at the next Sundance film festival or someone's film festival. This entire series was AMAZING!!!!
This is one of the most awe- inspiring vlogs I have ever watched. You are truly a gem and there is an essence about you. Thank you so much for letting us see into this country. wow!!!!
Mary Jane is one the bravest explorer/contentcreators I've ever seen. 🙏🏽
It looks like the photographer is using a Daguerreotype, invented by Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre . It was the first available photography device, mid 1800's. Very, very cool you had this photo taken!
This is absolutely beautiful. I could feel the serenity and peace in the people.
I'm am so happy that you posted this video. My heart goes out to such beautiful kind and loving people. They are just trying to survive this world filled with suffering just like the rest of us. Can't wait until your next video.
This documentary is so insightful. I appreciate your courage to go to this beautiful country and show a fresh perspective on the culture and people of Afghanistan. No matter if we may come from different cultures, countries, etc. through your documentary one thing that is clear is that love brings us together and makes the world go round. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip and that you also were able to full recover from the accident.
Love from Afghanistan
Thank you for given us a look into Afghanistan. Thank you for being brave enough to visit. ❤️🙏🏾
As a Caribbean person from Trinidad 🇹🇹 &Tobago this is a very touching episode new to your channel by accident but I am looking @ your videos I like them thanks. For sharing your travels be safe BLESS.
thanks
Absolutely masterful Docuseries in your Afghanistan journey 🙌🏾 What a beautiful depiction of the Country and the People. You were well received and you have given a true depiction of what US has vilified. Big up to you and the Afghanistan people whom allowed you safe passage into their world🌺🌺🌺🌞🌞
Love from Afghanistan
Thanks for giving us an incredible video to actually watch 👏🏼
You are one brave woman.
Best time to visit , end of spring start of summer
Afghanistan is one of the richest and most beautiful countries in the world + the people of Afg are all so kind and hospitable no matter who u are where ur from or what religion do u have they respect and appreciate you, but unfortunately not everybody thinks about Afghanistan the same as I do … In’Sha’Allah one day those who don’t believe will find out the truth about Afghanistan ♥️ Missing my dearest homeland sm 😢
💚💚💚
My neighbor is from Afghanistan and they’re very nice ❤
sounds all good but let’s not play games🙃
I hope also my dear watandarr
DIL, do you mean rich in natural resources?? From what I can see, the people are very kind. When MaryJane said all the people she talked to, said they were happy that the Americans were gone. I don’t believe that means, they hate America. I believe they’re are just saying, they want to run their own country, and they also don’t want the Taliban controlling their lives either. They just want to be free?? Did I get it partially correct?? 🙂
This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL record of your life, experiences, and memories! Thank you so much for sharing. I truly admire you! Very brave soul! Keeping you in my prayers. Most High bless you, and the people of Afghanistan 🇦🇫. Nostalgic feelings for sure.❤
Just finished reading “THE KITE RUNNER” so the part where you’re at the kite hill in Kabul made me so emotional 😭loved this video ♥️
Omg same. I read that book years ago and when the kids were flying their kites on the hill it reminded me of that book.
@@samsam-hk1kb same here, I just wanted to comment the same thing.. absolute great book and very nice clip that was captured..
You literally a journalist now. This is a work of art. Great Production and you are beautiful
Even when someone offers something for free you must pay. They say it to be nice. Have a heart. Afghans are struggling
I was thinking the same thing. Or buy multiple and give them away.
Oh wow I am so glad you are okay! I love to hear how God always keeps you during your travels. You certainly have favour upon your life in this area.
I lived in kuwait for 8 years and had the opportunity to travel to 6 continents including working in Antarctica with a research center. Life has been amazing and traveling changed my perspective about life as well ❤
This video was so beautiful and displayed such a love for humanity of the people. You have a beautiful soul and are blessed. I could feel the love of the country and the people through your video. God bless you and thanks for showing everyone the kindness of the world. We all need this in the US. ❤
I am loving the Afghanistan series, it's giving me documentary vibes and I am here for it. ♥️
Nosipho, wena this wonderfully shot, shem. makes me wanna spend a month with them tbh
@@PHlophe Bro me too
Beautiful people and country. Thank you for doing this. The kids were adorable. I hope every single one of them will have a bright future full of opportunities and happiness. Well done for doing this.
This was so moving, and the cinematography, especially from kite hill. Another example of kind and wonderful people in Afghanistan.
Incredible video MJ. I worked as an aid worker in Afghanistan in 2018 and 2019 and i am still in touch with many of my Afghan colleagues. The most beautiful, kind people you can find and for sure the country is so much safer now post America’s exit. During 2018-19 every single day I experienced the Afghan people being target practice for your government’s army
Wow, this was top notch work Young lady, a thrilling adventure, thank you for taking us along.
Another winner 💯 everything perfecto: content, editing, music and the voiceover in sections 🙌🏼🤗 .
Thank you for making this and showing us the beautiful people of Afghanistan. ❤ It definitely moved the heart.
You made me want to visit Afghanistan with this excellent video documentary. The people were so kind to you. I hope their country finds its way forward - hopefully so that women can have more freedoms than what they are afforded now.
This video gave me goosebumps. Amazing job MJ. Thank you so much for sharing your experience in Afghanistan
I have a deep desire to visit Afghanistan 🇦🇫 it looks like a great place full of beautiful people and culture. Sending lots of love from Kenya 🇰🇪.

This was beautiful and I hope you feel better. Beautiful men there, wish we could have seen more women. Thank you for sharing. So Sweet to pray for the sick daughter. May God continue to Bless you Maryjane.
This is a wonderful video of the Afghan people. I know they are trying to give you everything free, but I would pay them anyway, because they need it more. But they’re so kind, but it’s much more blessed to give than receive! Thanks for the upload! It makes me want to visit to help in some way! I pray for their freedom!! 😢

These shots are actually beautiful. You have created something special my dear 💖🙏🏽
This is a heartfelt documentary. They treated you well. Thanks for the insight.
This was absolutely beautiful to watch. So inspiring, this one is my favorite. You did an amazing job with editing and storytelling. Love this ❤️
Amazing videos of Afghanistan. I felt as though I was there. The music to this video was exactly what was needed to top off your journey. I have shared your Afghanistan videos to those who I consider absolutely wonderful people I know from there. Thank you. I will continue to view more.
Thank you for sharing I've heard so many stereotypes about global traveling, this brings ease watching how humble the people are.
Thank you for this video. It was so amazing! Your editing and the music you chose, did it for me. This is one of the best vids of 2022!
Haven’t watched you in years. Glad to know you’re still uploading and traveling. I appreciate all that you do for our entertainment and your legacy. Peace and love to you empress 🖤🙏🏾
Seriously I started watching her when I was in SS3 now am in 300level...and she is still uploading
Thank you su much, this video brought tears in my eyes.
I remembered the time I've spent in Afghanistan. ❤
Thank you, for your visit and showing positive side of Afghanistan to the world.
It’s crazy to see it in this light because I went as a solider in the Army my experience in the capital was way different. Thank you for showing this side. I wish as a woman I would of been treated better out there. It had to be the uniform.
Yes it probably was. Because Afghans have seen too much awar from different nations and they don't like it.
It was the uniform
Hello, I am an Afghan!
Thank you for visiting my country, I was very happy
Well done.
This should be submitted to Sundance.
What I respect about your documentary is that it doesn't feel exploitative. It's raw and beautiful.
P.s. I'm sorry that you were in an accident. Glad you're ok.
Facts
Beautifully said! I am so emotional right now. This young Black American woman has done something so amazing. I know that this may influence other young Black women to want to visit after seeing this. I would strongly advise them to be familiar with the customs of Afghanistan and move with complete caution and respect, bc their culture is totally different.
I agree with you 💯💯💯💯 percent. This young lady's documentary should premiere at Sundance Independent Short film documentary. This should even be showcase in World News. This is so beautiful and amazing ❤️

Black people especially BW are always waiting forever for their accolades.
Haven't seen your vids in a while. So thankful to come upon this series of Afghanistan. You captured it beautifully
Wow! Your journey is amazing. I am so glad that you're okay.
I really love seeing this It gives me a different perspective. At the same time I wonder about the accuracy in regards to the daily living experience for most women there. They treated you really well and allowed you to go into a lot of places. However, the women there don't get treated that way. So it's hard for me to tell what life is really like, there.
Same way women are treated in America
@@gigiamharic468 what??? No!
It’s a show or display, or best of the best lol
They hold her to a different standard but on a personal level the way they treat their women is how they really feel
Thank you so much for showing to the world that we are good people❤
the end melted my hearth with the melody in background and that kite hill
