As the Beta has just released a lot of add ons will not be updated for 11.0+, if you’re getting lots of LUA errors this is why and you will need to disable them for the meantime

What happens to my retail stuff if I fuck this up? I could not find account at 1:38 but transferred addons over to beta.
This did not work for me. There was one thing different. The names of the servers was not there, it was numbers. So I change the name to server I made my beta realm on.
My weakauras work but most everything else doesn't. In particular I can't get details to work which is super annoying because I have 0 idea if my hero talents are doing anything useful or not ...
That's gonna be the case, it's a radically new build. I wouldn't worry so much about hard numbers just yet, just throw some lightning hammers and summon forests for a bit. Sounds like a fun time.
Its beta 99% of addons are set for 10.x not 11.x . In the next 3 days a lot of addons should get updated to work with 11.x beta .
details never works with the beta when it first comes out, best bet is to install recount for the meantime

if you still can't get it working, re-install it via the curse forge client and once it's installed, right-click details, go to release type, select alpha, bam!

this is the public test server and not the beta not the same thing
MAKE SURE YOU DONT ACCIDENTALLY DELETE EVERYTHING FROM THE RETAIL FOLDER.

Well, some addons worked, details doesn't and that's the main one I care about. I get lua errors every second. :/

Be careful with this!! I managed to destroy my entire retail setup. I'm sure I made a mistake but the hours to fix it have me contemplating quitting until the xpac... So beware.

A) you can easily make a copy, B) even if you delete stuff you know there's a bin on your PC where you can get things back I hope?
It's "easy" to screw everything if you rebuild your computer from scratch or something but by doing a copy-paste it's kinda wild.
how does it take you hours, what do you literally have custom scripts for your addons that you need to replace that tell you how to play the game
@@MakiFox Oh wow what a novel idea. Obviously i tried this. To be clear all i did was drag and drop by mistake. When you restore all deleted files it only kept broken links and nothing would work. After two hours of trying to restore i had to rebuild. SO yah took about 4 hours and its still not quite right. The copy of the WTF i have on my desktop also would not work. Every single player pushing 16-18s is using all the wa's. Your "play the game for you" tells me you should enjoy your 5s. This streamer uses TONS of weak auras as does everyone else fool.
Everything worked except for the character transfer.

I don't even have an option to copy any data...
i followed all these steps back and undid them, but i still get 2 lua errors when trying to enable weakauras was 9 before. Gonna try uninstalling
i didnt find a way to repair what this process has done, i still get a lua error like every 0.7s even after reinstalling beta
going to try uninstalling all versions of wow and deleting all files

They both work just fine. This isn't how you do it though. Toweeliie knows how to do it.
