- You asked for it, so here it is, a movie edit of the DLC for Marvel’s Spider-man: The City That Never Sleeps. This includes the story of all 3 episodes: The Heist, Turf Wars, and Silver Lining. This movie is available in HDR on compatible devices.
If you’re unfamiliar with my work, yes this is a video game. It’s a movie edit of video game footage. I try my best to take the story of the game and edit it into an experience anybody can enjoy as a movie. Whether you’ve played the game or not, whether you play video games at all or not. After all, it’s all storytelling here.
Those familiar with most of my previous projects will know that I usually do as much as I can to remove the elements on screen that make it obvious you’re watching a video game, in order to try to recreate that movie experience as much as possible and reduce distractions. Well, unfortunately in the case of Marvel’s Spider-man, this isn’t really possible. There’s just so much happening on screen during most of the game, whether it’s HUD elements like HUD or mission markers, button prompts during combat, XP/Level/Mission notifications, etc. There’s just so much happening on screen that there’s just no realistic way to get rid of any of it. Thankfully this allowed me to complete this movie much quicker than usual.
Some people will again ask about letterboxing. Often when there is a HUD that covers mostly the top or bottom of a screen, or if a game often uses a particularly wide angle FOV (both of which are true here) I’ll re-frame the image into 2.40:1 aspect. Unfortunately, there would just not be much that could be done with that here either. First of all, the HUD isn’t always in one place. It moves around, and there are button prompts and notifications that very often pop up in the middle of the screen. Secondly, Spider-man is a character where verticality is important. Traditional tighter framing (as you’d get from a 2.40:1 crop) would simply erase a lot of that verticality, and Spider-man often uses the full space of the screen, top to bottom. There’s just no good way to handle an aspect ratio change here, unfortunately. So while this movie (like the previous Spider-man movie) is not quite as ambitious as many of my other movies, it’s still got plenty of cinematic moments in the game, making it enjoyable to watch regardless.
I originally wasn’t so sure about making this movie, because I felt the DLC was mostly focused on showcasing different enemy types. While making the movie, I certainly remembered where I was coming from with that. The vast majority of gameplay in the game are these large crowds of enemies, with new enemy types being brought in each episode of the DLC. The middle episode of the DLC probably was the weakest, story wise. However, there are still some pretty cool story moments in there, in particular in the first act with Black Cat and the last act with Silver Sable.
There was one element I wasn’t able to include in the movie as much as I wanted to, and that was the phone calls with Miles. The problem is, his calls would come in between missions, when the game forces you to do busy work. So, they’d come when I was doing activities totally unrelated to the story, and the audio behind them wasn’t clean enough to throw into the credits or something like I did with JJ podcasts in the previous movie (which are saved separately in the game menu).

It would appear the HDR playback is broken in this video. It may be the result of me needing to perform an edit to re-enable monetization, although it was an audio edit, not video, but youtube processing can be weird sometimes. Marvel spiderman game ps4 I really like this game very much. It's really amazing graphics and terrific character and incredible design and detail and realistic character most unique and exciting game ever very awesome. I think the game is really cool and all 50 suits are really great ever. I think the writer and producer artist storyline behind the scenes really did great job making this video game ps4 I really enjoyed this game very much I just wanted to get it. But they don't have it for xbox 360 only ps4 systems. I cut out Tombstone in my original movie except for the scene where MJ is investigating there. It's a little annoying to have a thread dangling there, but the rest of that plot line isn't relevant to the main story at all.

Well because of the way the HUD works you can probably catch me leveling up in some points during this movie. I didn't level him up any more than it took to complete the main story before this. I could have used a maxed out version of the character if I wanted to, but didn't.

I need your help and advice. I'm planning on recording gameplay from PS3/ PS4 which I probably will upload on UA-cam later.
Could you help me? What do I have to do in order to record on my PS3 for example, since it's not the same as PS4?.
What are the steps I need to do?
How can I record over an hour without having it stopped by itself or I have to re-record everytime? ( Make it look like I didn't stop record, edit it out )
Also how do I record the cutscenes because It seems like it will stop during cutscenes?

For PS3 you will need something that can capture Component video, since you can't turn of HDCP.
For the other question, it completely depends on what you're recording on. I often record for more than an hour, but even if you just want to record for only an hour, you can certainly edit out the cut in the recording. Of course you'll want to find a good place to stop recording though. Look for somewhere you can pause where if you cut out the pause, it's not super noticeable.

What's wrong with the audio at 0:52:20?
I used youtube's "mute audio" tool to remove a copyrighted song. It helps monetization but the audio gets lower quality in that section.

@@darobster5520 there might be one or two more with that, and then I think there were a couple where I muted a song in the credits entirely, but usually if there are copyright claims on a video, there are usually too many copyrighted songs so I can't really do anything about it

The color should look BETTER with HDR. Maybe there's an issue with your device. Try watching it on another device.

It was when I uploaded it. I remember I tried using a feature that would mute music in a certain scene, and I had forgotten to check if it worked, but it looks like it did, but kept the stupid automatic ad breaks. I've fixed that by adding my own manual ad breaks in more reasonable places. Should be good now!

For subtitles I always want them to be optional and translateable. I type them up wherever I can but I also rely on help from the community to submit subtitles for my movie as well.
For some people like myself, subtitles can be a big distraction from the movie experience, so I want to make sure they're only there if they can be turned off. And it's especially helpful if they can be auto translated too.
