    Another thing is to make sure that your bedsheets and pillow cases are cleaned regularly. It's best to wash them once every one to two weeks. You spend 8 hours of your day there. If they are dirty, your face will become dirty.
    Retinols and retinoids have a lot of benefits as well. Look into those for a nightly skin care routine

    if you have health insurance I HIGHLY recommend seeing a dematologist. It really is life changing and I suffered with cystic acne for almost 10 years. I wish I could say other products bought over the counter helped but sometimes you have to understand medical grade medication may be needed.

    loved that video, the only thing i do kind of want to mention is that hydration and moisture are two different things, hydration is water based and what kind of needs to be in the skin. moisturizing your skin will just sort of protect the hydration of your skin from evaporating basically but won’t help the root of the problem. i know that you said that this video is all about basics but for dry skin this definitely is one of the most fundamental concepts to understand.

    For face shaving I've had great experiences with using a safety razor rather than any other type of razor. I dhave daiky and have little to no irritation and i never really cut myself. A good shaving cream also makes my razors last five to seven days before i swap them out. After that i just CeraVe's moisturizer, no after shave.

    I wish I knew about skin-purging when I was in my teens. My skin would always clear up for three days, and I mean I had severe acne and it would _clear_ for three days before purging so the purging always freaked me out like why was it clear first before purging? And so then I'd think it wasn't working and no one told me that purging just... happens and that I needed to wait it out so I went most of my life thinking that, despite trying pretty much everything (reasonably affordable) on the market, nothing worked.

    I feel like out of all the expensive skin panacea's people shill online the only skincare product you should probably worry about is a good exfoliant. Spending a little extra money (Like anything more than $15) on a good exfoliant will go a long way towards improving your face in my experience. Originally I was using a really cheap exfoliant for a long time that would literally scour my face, and, it actually made my face more sensitive to break-outs.

    For somebody trying to get rid of sebaceous filaments on their nose how do I apply exfoliant and how often? I normally pat it on with my hands 2 times a week but I’m not sure if I should increase how often I use it and if I should be rubbing my exfoliant rather than patting it (I use Paula’s choice bha). Also, what split of cleansing products do you recommend for mixed skin? I use Cerave foaming facial cleanser for general application for my whole face.

    • @Aznmaa
      @Aznmaa 4 місяці тому +1

      You can start putting your exfoliant on more often after your skin gets used to it. Try 3 times a week and then after a couple weeks, 4 times a week and so forth. Also remember to put on sunscreen everyday even if you're not exfoliating everyday.

    • @Sweet4chokoreeto
      @Sweet4chokoreeto 4 місяці тому +3

      Sebaceous filaments won't go away, they're part of your body. To make them appear less noticeable you wash your face everyday and exfoliate once or twice a week, don't rub too hard, just rub lightly in circles for a minute.
      Pore strips will eliminate them for a while but at the long term will enlarge your pores don't use them more than once a month. I had scarring from that so I don't use that anymore. I just leave my face alone and apply skincare.

    HOW DO I MITIGATE OILY SKIN JQ!!

    • @fashionelitist
      @fashionelitist  4 місяці тому +5

      Hydration is key! make sure to use light moisturizers and light products! also diet is ver important!

    • @monkeybusiness3807
      @monkeybusiness3807 4 місяці тому +2

      If you eat like shit then clean up your diet. That alone fixed most of my acne problems and reduce the oil coming out of my skin. If you naturally have oily skin (like me) then look for products with niacinamide to help even more with sebum production. I recommend the Cerave foaming cleanser for oily skin. Also like jq said, hydration is important even if you have oily skin so use a lightweight moisturizer. Hope this helped🙏🏽🙏🏽

    why would you even make a skincare video in 2024 and say to use your hands for cleanser. get a silicone scrubber

    • @fashionelitist
      @fashionelitist  4 місяці тому +5

      While silicone facial brushes are a gentle method of facial cleansing, using them daily can thin the skin's stratum corneum, making the skin more fragile. Therefore, using them every day is not optimal . The optimal usage interval is once every two days
