Looked like you had a great trip, I’ve not been on smiler since it opened so sad it’s got quite rough. Great beard game you got going on for the trip too! If you can get to phantasialand I think you’ll love it: also if you get to Warner park Madrid or europa park I’d happily tag along!
@@ellishopper360 Nemesis is ranked 2nd only to Hyperia as the top 2 coasters in the UK. Icon in Blackpool is ranked no. 3. That's according to Themepark Worldwide.
The track you saw in the Nemesis queue line was infact track made for the ride during it's retrack, however it didn't fit! (same with another piece which was is also used in the queue) so instead of scrapping brand new track sections, they are used as queue line theming. Shame you missed it! the work they where doing lasted 2 days and they had to rerighted some bolts on the first drop, so nothing that major :)
@@AdrenalineRush236 I was told this information by the Senior Project Manager David Taylor, who gave a talk at a TowersTimes event I attended in April of this year. So unless he was lying to us when asked about this track, I'm pretty certain I can trust this information. Besides, you can't modify already manufactured track without compromising the smoothness and strength of the rail, so this wouldn't be true anyway.
One of the facts about Alton Towers is the planning permission restriction limits the height of any ride to the height of the tallest tree. This explains the design of Oblivion and Nemesis as the park excavated to get the height of the lift hills.
Nemesis is my favourite coaster and heavily brings the park down if you don't get on it. My one and only visit of the year is later this month and I can't wait
Looks like you made the most of the day! Glad you got to enjoy most of the coasters and some of the dark rides. A massive shame you missed out on Nemesis Reborn. Also a pity you didn’t get on with Smiler. It’s understandable; for me it can be very hit & miss. I’ve had great rides and terrible rides on it. A front row coaster for sure.
Gutted for you. Great vlog and interested to see your take on the park. Personally, I've put off making the commitment to travel there in the last few years as it's either spending most of the day in a queue or forking out for fast pass. Great park, average line up, and poor value for money.
Alton Towers is one of the biggest parks in the world in terms of size of the land. Obviously a lot isnt useable or taken up by rides but it's absolutely huge. I think people underestimate it because you look at the number of attractions and think oh ok, thats a fine but not massive number, and then you arrive somewhere the size of Disney. So sad you didnt get Nemesis but an excusd to come back maybe.
@MaloneysCoasters Haha love a bit of Smiler. It's over hyped and not aged well but it's a real clever piece of engineering and I don't know many rides that are quite so spectacular to watch off ride. There's a single rider queue if you want to save on fast track next time. Never guaranteed but I usually save at least half the main queue time.
Most people from overseas has The Smiler as their No1 bucket list coaster or at least one of them and tbh it’s probably one of the worst coasters in the UK it’s rough as hell especially the further back in the train you are and it’s that intense that you can’t ride it more than a couple of times, it’s also unreliable and gets really busy
I noticed the reliability issues too, it went down several times through the day. The Fast Pass was the best decision I made, I did it because I couldn’t be bothered waiting 90 minutes but ultimately I probably would have missed out if I had got in the regular queue.
Ohh shame you didn’t think much of the smiler, it’s in my top 3 one the uk! 1. Hyperia 2. Icon 3. The smiler, is my top three 🤩 I’ve never found the smiler rough though I have heard a few people say they think that it is. Maybe it depends on the time of day you ride it as I always have it at the end of the day so maybe it’s warmed up who knows! Could be where you’re sat? But yeah I’ve never experienced it being rough. Rita I find bangs my head a bit on the last half though no one else seems to notice that. The worst coasters in the country for me have to be Colossus and Infusion those two are PAINFUL! If you ever secretly hate one of your friends, get them to go on those haha. AT had a great selection of coasters IMO, nice mix and all are unique in their own way which I find nice!

That's not true, it's repainted OG track. The ones that didn't fit were sent back to B&M to be modified and were then fitted into place.

The random bits of track around nemesis are bits of the old track that have been repained and used as themeing props.
@jacobphillips4856 Not old track, but new track that didn't fit. It's was meant to be the first 2 peices after the lift, but they needed to be remade

I definitely managed to get a lot more into the day than I thought! I’ll be back for Nemesis and to give Smiler another chance 😄

So when did you do this wickerman closed
Love the park but wish they had more frequent bus services

Nemesis being closed is a huge letdown :(
