In relation to the towers ruins, wouldn't be surprised if it was linked to the current extensive work in preparation for scarefest. During my visit I saw many workers entering and exiting the Altonville mine tours as well as a lot of scrap coming out of the building. Hopefully this combined with the closure of the towers ruins means huge changes for scarefest 2023!
It'll be interesting to see!
The fact that they haven’t made a tea rooms out of the conservatories is just crazy.

How was your Algeria trip?
Loved seeing this beautiful park. Would love to visit one day if I ever get the chance to go to the UK. So much green space! I love it. The themeing of the rides were incredible. It really adds so much more to the ride itself. Like you said before, I really hope parks here in the states start adapting that. Anyways, another great vlog!
Having grown up visiting the park it is truly special, nestled near the Peak District even the drive up to the park through a forest road is magical. The ruins and park is full of history which stands it apart from other parks
Hopefully you can come and visit at some point!
Alton Towers has inspired and kickstarted many a thusies obsession with proper Theme parks. I'm reaching my 40s and I still get butterflies when getting onto the monorail to the entrance. A truly magical park, and I hope Merlin have a proper plan to give the whole place some TLC to maintain that magic. It's eroded a bit over the years but it's still such a special place to so many of us!

Visited last Saturday was our first time on curse of Alton Manor and we were so impressed much better than Duel. Also loved the waterfalls being back on, on the rapids made the ride so much better. Just waiting for Hex to return now 🤞

Glad that you guys are back at Alton Towers! It is nice to see the waterfalls on the Congo river rapids operating again. Also, the eyes on the statue in the gardens was just not right.

Loved seeing your reactions to the storm as we were there and it was definitely one of the most surreal / memorable moments from a park that I've ever had. Pretty sure from watching this we managed to be at the opposite end of the park to you all day 😂
Loved getting back on Curse twice. Such a phenomenal ride. It was ride 5/6 for me and I only just noticed Emily disappearing on the Swing!
There's some awesome effects in Alton Manor that we love!
I was in the park on a Saturday and it was very quiet compared to Friday. We managed to do loads of rides!!!
Yes mate, whent there last summer absolutely scorching 40°C. Loved it there.

Galactica is so underrated of a ride, I just think it's the theming but the entrance is really cool, and everything but the outside view hasn't got the best theming! Also, did you have a good time in the USA going to all those theme parks?!
It definitely is underrated, which I find hard to believe because I recall the day I visited Alton Towers during my school trip back over 21 years ago when it was known as Air and everyone who went on it absolutely loved it. I find it so unique myself because the ride is meant to make you experience flying in the air like superman or woman.

Galactica is great but I recommend holding on to the restraints especially on that long inverted section

On Sunday and Monday (July 23rd and 24th) I am making my first trip to Alton towers on a birthday trip for my 14th( I am 14 and live in london) and I already know so much about the park thanks to you. When I went to Alton Towers in April, Galactica was a 30 minute wait, and when I came off it, it went up to 1 hour! Great video
Also, you are right, the retrosquad are annoying
It’s nice to see Sub Terra back open it definitely gives the capacity while Nemesis was under investigation and hopefully when the observation platform is gone they can reduce the wait time

I was there the Sunday before and the queuetimes were moderate. Managed to get multiple re rides on Curse and Congo... Waterfalls make all the difference but still didn't get wet!
Sundays is the best day at the moment!
That girl on that picture on that creepy ride when she jumped at us I actually screamed she scared the absolute life out of me 🤣I refuse to go on this at Alton towers got in the queue and walked back out🤣🤣
last week i came with my school and thanks to your videos i found out about the single rider line, we managed to get 4 or 5 rides on the smiler in total, although i dont think i could do it that many times in one day again 🤕😆😆

Nice vlog. I'm taking my 11 year old up to Alton Towers in two weeks on the train from London and staying at the hotel, her first time there. She isn't 1.4m so shame Hex is still down. Would love to see you do a full gardens tour vlog at some point!

Went last Monday was pretty gutted we only got to do 5 rides, my first time ever at Alton towers too, hope next time I go we get a lot more done
When we went in March at the opening of the season the pleasure gardens and follies were looking very neglected. There are so many possibilities for improving the offer and experience beyond the thrill rides - how lovely would it be to have a tea rooms with proper meal options in the old glasshouses, particularly for parents and grandparents? - but they just seem pathologically incapable of taking proper care of the place.

Not being able to film on the dark ride is puzzling.
Perhaps they don't want to spoil the surprise for the riders.
Many of us would like to see it but we live all over the world.
Why not an in house P.O.V.???
Everything is lovely when in bloom.
It would be nice if they offered some insight about their future plans for the manor and gardens.

Rode Smiler last Tuesday for the first time, in a different life I had been a prolific member of the RCCGB(USA tours etc) it’s one crazy ride! Either that or I’m outta practice🤔
So happy themepark worldwide are back at alton towers
We went to AT the day after the storm hit, the debarked tree was a sight to behold as they hadnt had time to cleany chop away the base yet and you could clearly see it had been hit by lightning! I hadn't put two-and-two together about the ride closures untill I talked to the Galatica crew (sorry Shawn but it is my favourite) and they told me that thr ride itself was fine but some of the CCTV cameras and saftey sensors had been damaged and that's why it couldn't open. No wonder it took so long for stuff to get fixed if every ride needed new cams and sensors - makes me curious how empty the spares cuboard was after that day!
Still had a good day with my buds and got to go again a few days after for free so I got to say goodbye to all my favourite rides before I moved a few hours away from AT (Palutons is my home park now)
Going next Wednesday with school and I can’t be more excited

I'd love to see Galactica get a more appropriate theme when Nemesis reopens. Removing the VR just defeats the point of the galactica retheme

I'm so excited, I'll be going to Alton Towers in september this year!! We'll be driving from the Netherlands to the UK for a couple of days😁
On an inset day in May, I went with my friend and we were on our way there when we saw multiple school classes lining up on the side of the road… and then the million cars behind us. We still got lots of rides in!
Also, why do I feel like the waterfalls will only turn on in summer?
‘Chew chew’ is what they always say on the Runaway Mine Train - it’s part of the joke. Meant to be very camp. Regulars love it.
Seems you are walking way more than we ever do. Perhaps take the sky train between the key zones and do one section at a time? If you’re there for rope drop, you can usually get Smiler and Oblivion both done in about 20 minutes. Should easily get the big six done before about 2pm.
Provided you’re in the queue for something at park close time, you will be allowed to ride.
Unfortunately the skyride is closed all of 2023 as we would use it!
I went on Thursday last week, got on the smiler wicker man blade and curse at Alton manor.. did okay!!
I'm going tomorrow with school! I'm really excited as I haven't been since October 2021. Very excited to ride the smiler for the first time (it was closed last time) :D
Wicker Man is my favourite ride no doubt but wouldn't you think at peak times they would do the pre-show for every other group to help the queue? its always going to be a bit slow because of the cloakroom but then the pre show every single time.

Went with my girlfriend on Monday hoping to enjoy a day there without our kids…unfortunately for us every school in England was there and it rained. Ended up leaving at dinner was terrible! 90 minute queues on a Monday off peak :(
Thorpe was quiet on Saturday!! Longest queue was an hour but stealth is on 1 train service….

we did Alton yesterday and had a great day managed 14 rides :) we have spent 3 weeks in Florida and going back to Alton even the Smiler felt easier and slower, still a great coaster. They really need to get some maintenance going on some of these attractions, Galactica station looked a right mess, no screens running and tatty looking building. Looking forward to Nemesis next year, looking really good.
Hoping for Europa Park and Phantasia land in October :)

I'm going on Sunday and Monday so it's looking good
Going in August on a bus trip with 2 days at park. What rides would you recommend for first timers. We are a family of 4. My eldest loves Icon and Infusion at Blackpool and Sik and Hero at Flamingo Land. I prefer the woodies and my youngest is tall enough for Revolution at Blackpool.
We will be there a few hours in the afternoon on first day hopefully longer on second day. My eldest is entitled to an access pass so hopefully we can get on a lot through the days we are there.

I always had a walk inside the towers. I really wish they would restore the building. I can remember the model train set in one of the rooms.
I do wonder/hope that project horizon will have a inside themed land like Arthur at Europa park with some themed flats

You should be manager mate , horrible experience at the enchanted village, room 735, family of 4 supposedly wet room , all over the floor after showering, floors soaked, running into to room which is a serious hazard with a 4 yr old never mind me having 2 pints of Guinness, over 18 quid, and being remortgaged for a family dinner, over 1,20 minutes for burgers and a fish and chips, and raining all day... if I ever win the billions you can build me the best theme park.....raging in the rain no one to blame for that, but ffs better off staying elsewhere, shambles, much love, have a word, Peter
im going with school to towers for the first time tuesday next week as the school didnt do trips for years (its my last year to do it (year 10)) so i hope it isnt as bad as im expecting as i can no longer check queue times on the app while outside the park

You're not wrong about the school trips. I went on June 30th and despite the poor weather, it was rammed. 2 hour wait for the smiler.Operations were not that good that day either with Galactica, Wicker Man, Oblivion, Thirteen, Rita, Nemesis Sub-Terra and The Curse at Alton Manor all closing at some point during the day

Loved watching your usa road trip and now alton towers, im at alton towers in a couple of weeks . I think smiler is my favourite ride there. I really dont miss hex, although the theming is good the ride intelf makes me feel really sick!.
