What a wonderful program!! Please please please, keep the fire burning. This kind of initiative should be jealously embraced. I can feel something great will be coming out it.

It's my first time to come across suchlike discussions, very healthy especially to all LUO wherever they are, be it in Uganda, Southern Sudan, Ethiopia,Kenya, Tanzania,Congo or any other place of the world,it is a high time for Us to come together.
In listening to the speeches of Amb.Otunu and Bishop Ochola, both from Uganda, I can see the need for other prominent Luos to join hands in bringing all Luo across the world together.
Just like what Peter K'Ogot (from Kenya) is doing, let's give full support at the same time urge others to join them for the endeavour.

Indeed. Ladit Dakta Otunu surely placed his hands squarely on critical issues that we of the central Luo got wrong. Thank you Dr Otunu. Now that the key problems are known, without wasting time we need to stand up and address them. We need to restore early education styles. Vernacular teaching up to P4 instead of nursery in Engilsh. Concern about education to be top agenda. Reorganizing society with clear respectable hierarchy/s. The need for 'Nywal' not withstanding, to counter tyrany of numbers. Luo needs to trully rediscover themselves. Apwoyo.

Very good, meaningful "instructional" speech.. bulk of what was said are literally quite plain and self explanatory [to the 45+ olds]..
Here in London (UK) Luo Cultural Group (LCG) has for 30+ years done [under extremely difficult conditions] visibly successful work to.. PRESERVE/PROTECT, BUILD & PROMOTE [within the UK in particular] Luo (Acoli) IDENTITY.. natural & cultural..
Thank you so, so much Dr Olara Otunu for the wonderful pin-point analysis.. Every Luo (Acoli) man & woman must and has to get [hands-on] practical to make sure WE rescue ourselves from the rots/"diseases" that are doing every little [evil] thing to irreversibly destroy our Luo [NATURAL & CULTURAL] IDENTITY..
    Thank you again..

@@kr3539 Fair enough and good reasoning...I didn't realize other Luos wouldn't understand Acholi. Thanks for enlightening me on this. Much appreciated! Goes to show how much work we have as Luos in general to work something out...like a common Luo language (but without destroying any originals of course).
