The main problem is the poor quality of our food. Pesticides, preservatives, GMOs, poor soil quality being deficient of nutrients, not to mention picking produce before it is ripe enough to have formed proper nutrient content. I could go on but won't.

Correct - poor diets = reduced residues = straining on the toilet = injured visceral autonomic nerves = autoimmune disease, etc

      Dear Virginia,
      Agree 100%!
It's why Dr. Mark Hyman is
      my favourite You Tube
      Doctor !☺️
      He has made several video
      talks about all this, and
      it backs up very neatly
      what I learned from the
      great Doris Grant
( Main book, " Food Combining
For Health", sadly might be out
of print now) : Doris learned from
Dr. Howard (?) HAY, of USA.
He came to U.K. to meet her
and ask for advice / data, etc.
      I tried the "Food Combining",
      and had a big improvement,
      after damage from radiotherapy
      made eating a chore !😢.
Because of the following bad effects ,
I contacted Doris, and met her at her
      "then" home in Poole, England.
We kept in touch, and she urged
      me to lecture in Naturopathy,
which at the time I didn't feel
I was knowledgeable enough to do...
but have been absorbing "info" ,
      ever since....
(BTW, my " case" was included
      in her next book,
      " Food Combining For Life").
      But we now have the
      excellent Dr. Mark Hyman,
      who I'm sure is a " treasure"
to us all, and I hope his diligence
      and perseverance will
      somehow get through the
      huge resistance of the
      modern food and medical
      industries...😢.....
As you clearly know, the poor quality
of the " food" being put before us
is driving huge amounts of illness.
      The USA profit-led medical
      "BUSINESS" has no desire
      generally to disrupt what is
      an INDIRECT form of
      INCOME !!!
      Don't challenge greedy
      " food" manufacturers,
      while their products are
      supplying suffering patients ,
ready to pay loads of money !!! 😠
      Hopefully, the modern technology,
e.g., as here, " The Net", supplies
      us with information,
      so we can SAVE ourselves
      from the many potential health
      problems all around us.😢.
      We face growing numbers
(%) of folk with chronic illness :
a future crisis of diabetes, obesity,
      auto-immune diseases.....
And so much of it is due to
      the modern diet ! 😢.
A look at the t.v. adverts
      with this in mind, should
      trigger Alarm Bells !!
      But on they go, and
      nothing is done to ALERT
      the (so-far) gullible public !
      Jamie Oliver did try, but
      without a nationwide poll,
how will we know the results ? 🤔.
(Well, there have been a few
      food programmes, but those
      who most need to watch
      them are probably else-where
      watching movies, reality shows,
      movies ,game shows or
      " Soaps "...?)
      There should be a health
      warning under every advert
      promoting sugary, salty, msg ,
      preservative and toxin
      - laden takeaways,
      not to mention
      super - slim models seductively
      savouring choc' s and ices....😢.
      🎉🍔🍩🍕🍟🌮🍥🍬
      The adverts coerce folk
      into thinking all the bad
      stuff is good for them,
      by images of people,
      especially kids ) having SUCH
      fun , and temporary pleasure,
      from the products.
      How can we help spread
      the truth about the health
      evils lurking in the modern
      over- processed. "foods"?
      Jamie Oliver tried ,
      with school dinners :
how far did that get ?!🤔
      We all need organic food,
      as Doris Grant 🦉wisely 🦉
      said, MANY
      DECADES ago.
      Eternal thanks to the
      excellent
      DR.Mark Hyman .
      🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉🦉
      🇬🇧💕🦉🇺🇸🇬🇧💕🦉
      P.S., Virginia, will you please
write back : I'd like to hear
      more of your thoughts about
      all this ...☺️🇬🇧🦉☺️🦉

My mom was experiencing debilitating diarrhea for over a year, she went to family doc, then a urologist. The urologist diagnosed her with inflamed bowel syndrome and prescribed some expensive meds. She didn't know what to do, she is very much against taking pharmaceuticals long term. I asked her what meds, vitamins, and supplements she was taking. She said she quit everything except her turmeric (she is a big advocate of turmeric, taking it 3 times a day.) I told her stop taking it and see what happens...lo and behold her chronic diarrhea cleared up within days. She was SO THANKFUL. I'm just a mechanic but I know how to troubleshoot problems by process of elimination.

      Dear Anton S.
      I'm a big fan of Turmeric :
      I wouldn't suspect it of
      causing diarrhoea...?
      I guess we're all slightly
      different , and maybe
      your Mother developed
      an intolerance to Turmeric...?
      Or even an allergy ?
      Well done you, for adopting
      the " change what you're
      doing, and see what happens"
      approach.☺️.
The only thing is, did she
TRY the med's at all ?
      Did the diarrhoea start
      again if she resumed
      taking Turmeric ?
      Worth "keeping an eye "
      on this...hoping it isn't
      something else , 🤔,
      that needs checking...?
      Best Wishes from England.☺️.

My mom always stated that all problems start in the gut (except some) and I've finally reached her conclusion. Thank you for putting the information out there! Thank you for educating us. Nutrition and health should be taught in schools, not just biology and anatomy etc. The food that we're buying from shops is like poison, medication that they give us is slowly killing us.

Yes, teach it in schools, plus,
      teach doctors in training ALL
      about it !
      Especially the scandal of
      what goes into processed
      foods !
We were told years ago to use
      Vegetable oils for frying,
but now we know how they are
made, and how much is used, e.g.,
in deep- friers in fish'n'chip shops
and restaurants , etc., we need
to be aware it has bad effects,
      long term...it has been behind
so many folk getting too much
      Omega 6, and not enough
      Omega 3 , for a start...😢.

      beware fakes! ).

I have Celiac Disease and DH. Sadly, the doctors I have been to just say "stay away from gluten" and you'll be fine. NO, not really. Gluten is one type of lectin. I decided to go on a lectin free diet and no nightshade vegetables (the skins have lectins and they are highly inflammatory), no grains, no dairy, no rice, no corn, no legumes. My blisters, rash, migraines, inflammation, intestinal issues and swelling gone! It is a very strict diet and by no means easy. But if you happen to have celiac disease and think just eliminating gluten is the answer, you are mistaken. If you eat beef or chicken, make sure it's grass fed...make sure the animal doesn't eat grains.
I was so swollen (155 lbs.) and now, I am down to 118 lbs. Watch what you eat! Eat organic please if you can. Your body will thank you for it. I am a former nurse and LMT.

We know exactly why auto-immune diseases are on the rise. We "played" with our immune system over the last couple of years. In many countries, people were threatened with losing their jobs and livelihood if they would not agree to "play" with their immune system. Having destroyed thousands of life with long term effects and exacerbated and totally out of control existing auto-immune conditions which had previously been mild (like in my case), they have now declared there is no longer the need to "play" with your immune system. Thank you!

Thank you for this wonderful interview! I was fortunate enough to somehow know I needed a functional doctor, roughly 11 years ago, when I was diagnosed with hashimotos and T1D, at age 57. We have a fabulous functional clinic in our town and utilize their health coach and nutritionist, their supplement store and all the extras they offer that would not be accessible at most conventional clinics. BTW, both my auto immune conditions are well controlled currently. We are always tweaking treatments as everyday environmental toxins and stressors, as well as our food sourcing, appear to find another pathway to create inflammation. Always the biggest battle, IMO.

I know I feel better on an autoimmune diet, but I live in a food desert and I think there is only one functional medicine practitioner in my state. It's a real shame. The answers are obviously here to help reverse many of these illnesses, but in many cases just not accepted by conventional medicine practice. It's really frustrating. Here in the UK - there simply aren't enough functional / integrative medicine doctors around. And so many conventional doctors seem to disapprove, because it's not within the scope of their medical understanding and it's 'pooh poohed' by the framework bodies by which they operate under. Yet one would think nutrition and lifestyle balance should be at the forefront of medical practice. What if - you didn't have to take 'a pill' for every condition? The world is sadly over obsessed about money and profit at all costs...yet the same 'money and profit' seems to be bankrupting our medical systems. Thank you Dr Hyman and Dr Schweig for sharing.

And they took it out from our tab water and replace it with bromeline and fluore that are dangerous and toxic for us and prevent iodine to get absorb. So today there is many people having thyroid disorders and breast cancer. ...see Dr . Brownstein videos and books . 📚 and Dr Steven Millet

Mark can you please recommend some functional doctors in Australia? I have undiagnosed thryoid issues (chronically low TSH and elevated antibodies) and diagnosed Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (being treated by a Dermatologist), I'm 39. I also have very stubborn facial acne that scars and presents in an abnormal pattern, started before the hairloss and been going on for over 2 years now. I don't know if we have 'functional doctors' here in Australia. I think Naturopaths do the kind of full blood tests etc. Is that who I should see?

I always love listening to your interviews and podcast. Since I am not living in the US, do you have any recommendation for Germany/Austria to receive this kind of treatment? Meaning, who would I need to ask/find that would do testing like you do it to get a holistic body picture? Thank you so much

I ordered several key tests from Germany to Great Plains Labs USA. Its easy, order the test on their website, u will get kit at you home. Collect sample as per instructions, ship them to lab. The kit comes with return shipping labels. In Germany, I see some of tests started by Verisana labs in similar way but those are still limited to few.

All treatment is the same: start eating clean organic foods like vegetables, fruit, fish, meat. No need for expensive doctors and tests

When I went to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance nutritionist, she said diet really didn’t affect cancer, just eat a well balanced diet. I asked about sugar, she said to just don’t over do it. I asked about plant based diets and keto. She said do whatever I wanted, they probably wouldn’t hurt, but recommended I not cut out any food groups like meat or carbs.

I've been in practice for a decade. I have always told my patients about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I stress it. I have myself been following a clean Keto lifestyle for even longer than 10 years. I have maybe 1 to 5% of my patients who will actually change. Everyone else glazes over or flat out says, give me a medication instead of a diet change.
Don't blame the providers, blame the patients.

Yeah it's crazy how often people suggest that doctors don't understand nutrition.
My own GP says most people just want the quick answer, and most of my friends give excuses for why they can't change.

Can this reverse my ITP - Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura - autoimmune blood condition where my body attacks / destroys my platelets (clotting factor of my blood)?
I was diagnosed with ITP in 2006 & am extremely refractory to all the medications that I have been on - prednisone - had steroid psychosis; IVIG, Rituximab, Promacta, and Fostamatinib.
I had my spleen removed in 2008 & had 3 accessory spleens removed in 2020.
I have been hospitalized countless times because my platelet count has been 5 or lower which I could have spontaneous hemorrhaging with a platelet count that low.
    I have had several hematomas.
Can this program reverse my ITP?

Amazing that one only sees old people doing the shows, the young our out having fun. When I was in my late teens I worked as a barman at a nice hotel. Every Friday evening three old gents (friends) in their 80's would come in, and all they would talk about was who had died that week, what ailments they have, what operations they are going for, and their blood pressure levels. Etc. I remember thinking to myself being old sucks. And I did not look forward to those old man Fridays. Now it seems the same stories are told by these old doctors, every minute of the day. Loose stools? Id rather be watching Alan Waker - Alone

Poor diets lead to reduced residues and coordinate, and incoordinate straining on the toilet (which injures short midline neurovascular pedicles). Women have x10 AI compared to men but they have had two children, hysterectomy and menopause.
Tell me how you open your bowels in your 60’s & 70’s as a woman. Loss of visceral nerves induced the CD4/CD8 lymphocytes. As usual it is NOT what is NOT in the section, rather than what IS there ? (Hypothesis - NOT proven)

    • @endometriosisexplained1799
      @endometriosisexplained1799 Рік тому

So what I am trying to say is that straining on the toilet causes injuries to visceral autonomic nerves causing autoimmune disease which is x10 mor common in women than men !
Only hypothesis but we have not looked for nerves in autoimmune diseases !?!

I’ve heard a lot of people have success going carnivore. I’ve been on carnivore for 3 months and have seen regrowth from my AA. Im now switching to more of a keto/ AIP diet. In addition to the regrowth, I no longer have arthritis in my hands and my much of my pain from inflammation have been significantly reduced.
