When movie stores started to close down they were selling like 3 dvds for $15, I picked up district 9 not knowing what it was. I was very impressed. Probably watched it 4 times since.

@@Husky_Passion you never saw Aliens, right? The Aliens movies are the best and the beginning of all alien culture movies. Just watch it on Netflix. Even after more or less 40 years it's so damn horror.
Imagine: You are on a mission in the space and find a signal on a dark planet... You never expected an unknown race of lifeforms and it wants to kill you. And the aliens you see are like... Whatever! Hulk? Hm... No more like the Nemesis in Resident Evil Apocolypse / Biohazard 3.

The Life (2017) was the best movie of the genre I have watched to date - I would rate it 8/9 out of 10. Quite remarkable.
I also liked the Cloverfield (2008) - 8 out of 10; The Mist (2007) - 8 out of 10; The Happening (8 out of 10); Super8 (2011); Alien: Covenant - 7/8 out of 10; A Quiet Place (7); The Day the Earth stood still (2008) - 7; BirdBox (save for the shameless miscegenation propaganda element) - 8; Avatar (2009) - 7, Притяжение (Attraction) (2017), etc.
I absolutely didn't care for junk like "The men in Black", all manner of so-called alien movie "comedies", etc.
