Estonia fact: Estonia sang for their independence from the Soviet Union. The singing revolution as it is known, took place from June 14th, 1987 to September 8th, 1991 and also included Latvia and Lithuania where they would gather singing protest songs. Singing is a popular hobby of Estonians and most Estonian parents encourage their children to take up singing to honor their country's independence.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine were also glossed over and were only described as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
    Same with Paraguay.
Also, Samoa has a good rugby team. Not really fair to compare it to top-tier teams like NZ and Ireland.
Quick Romania fact: we have the largest brown bear (Ursus arctos) population in Europe (not including Russia).

Our country (🇬🇪) is best explained by sharing the name of a place with the Solomon Islands and Jamaica?? How about: Georgia is the birthplace of wine. Or Georgia in the 12th century had a female regent that was so powerful, they gave her the title of king. 2nd country to adopt Christianity? One of the earliest pre-historic human settlements in Europe (1.8 million years)? Worlds most terrible dictator (although I wouldn’t mind that one being left out), Rose Revolution, etc. There’s too much to mention and the fact that none of these were mentioned is so underwhelming😔

@@Lightkie I'll definitely check it out. I recently read somewhere about the connection between the mutual intellegence somewhat between German and Afrikaans. Germany
is called “Deutschland” in German and “Deutschland” derives from an Old High German word which originally meant "of the
people". This word actually did find its way into English, as “Dutch”. However, this
became associated with the Germanic peoples with which the English had the most contact.
This is why people from the Netherlands are called Dutch in English.

Afrikaans is mostly a Dutch dialect (from Zeeland province, where they say 'ons' instead of common Dutch 'wij' for we) and with some nautical terms (kombuis is a kitchen on board a ship only in Dutch) and Maleis (Malayan as in Indonesian) like pisang for banana. Also a lot of Khoisan words. I'm Dutch and I can read Afrikaans, I've read some books.

Another fact about Moldova: It is the least happy country in the world. There is wide spread corruption throughout Moldova. It's common practice for Moldovan doctors to require bribes before they will even meet with their patients. And many of those doctors in turn bribed the medical board to pass their medical certification exams. But for the common folk they just engage in mafia work: weapons and drug smuggling, kidnapping, mercenary work... All pretty common career paths in Moldova.
Many Moldovans wish they could leave but unfortunately they cannot afford to do so. So they remain there... Unhappily.
But I don't want to only say bad things about Moldova so the one thing that they can be proud of is that the largest wine cellar in the world is in their borders: Milestii Mici. So if you're a wine aficionado it might be worth a visit!

The term "Catara" (inhabitants, Cataraei) was exclusively used until the 18th century, after which "Katara" emerged as the most commonly recognised spelling. So he skipped Bosnia and Herzegovina, we started 1st world war( I mean Gavrilo shoot Franc Ferdinand and Sofia, ended Austro-Hungarian empire in a way) , we are only European nation which is 50%+ Muslim with other cca 50% of inhabitants being Catholics and Orthodox Christians (literally microcosm of world religion). Also Bosnia and Herzegovina has 20 km of shore on Adriatic sea (Town of Neum) . Also Bosnia and Herzegovina is known in a world for war between ethnic groups and agression by both Serbian and Croatian army, it was a mess for 3.5 years ended up with genocide in Srebrenica and Dayton peace agreement which was agreed in Dayton Ohio in US army military base and was later signed in Paris(14.12.1995.). Bosnia and Herzegovina is small country, not Vatican small but small and we border Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, there is even the part where Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro meet each other in the mountains. Also Bosnia and Herzegovina is home to last proper European rainforest which is Peručica in Sutjeska national park which has some endemic species. Bosnians are kinda strange between ourselves but we are incredibly hospitable nation which grows with tourism every year and we have this diverse touristic visits, Europeans want to see how does this once war torn nation look like and also many come to hike, Arabs and Turks come to visit Muslim brothers but also to compalin that our Islam is different because we don't practice total Islam like Saudi Arabia more like secular Islam in a way where we still believe in pillars of Islam and duties yet girls will easily walk the streets in mini skirt etc;to Chinese and other people we are probably touristicly exotic so they also visit a lot. Visit Bosnia and Herzegovina people.

the accurate Arabic pronunciation for Qatar is closer to "cutter" and because you don't have "qhaf" letter in English, you replaced the "gha" sound whith "ka" sound. All that aside, countries names change from language to other ..for example...in English you know "Egypt " using the mentioned name, yet in Arabic it's a totally different name. We call it "messrr" which has different historical background than the English one or to be more accurate the Latin name.
So debating about Qatar right pronunciation shouldn't happen. Cuz American Qataar is their way of making sure the name Qatar is not "cutter" cuz English doesn't have Arabic "ghaaf" letter.

It's not a case where people still calling it Burma are going to be inevitably frustrating the people from said country. It's not a neat division, but there is a somewhat rough split between supporters of the military dictatorships preferring Myanmar (rooted in distancing itself from colonial Britain IIRC, despite the fact both names actually have the same etymological root, simply splitting through different registers of the language originally), and the general populace of the country preferring Burma. As someone with a Burmese wife, I opt for ‘Burma’ given the sentiment of her and her family-though doing ensures exposure to many utterances of ‘um, actually’ and the like from people with no connection to the country flexing their knowledge. :P

I stumbled across your channel a week ago and subsequently watched quite a few videos. I find your level of intellect to be very attractive - absolutely love your analysis on all topics and especially the manner in which you articulate your thoughts and input. Oh and by the way, you have a gorgeous smile…it’s beautiful and quite infectious….greetings from South Africa.

If I'm not mistaken, the Interpol doesn't actually have any jurisdiction anywhere. That's because it's not an actual law enforcement force, but rather a sort of contact point between the law enforcement forces of the several countries.
Thus, joining it or not is completely up to each country.

The Sao tome and Principe portion made me curious about their wildlife, and sent me on a minor wormhole seeking knowledge about them, which I'll likely continue later. As far as Estonia facts, I don't really have any, however, I did meet someone from there that was selling Educational text books door to door in a city in Texas.
