Vhagar and Aemond intimidated that little dragon and it reacted out of fear.. I mean who won't when a big ass dragon is flying behind all around
I think Viserys has a big hand in how his kids turned out as well. He was already an old dad who barely saw their mom as more than a broodmare. Put that on top of always being ailing, generally avoidant and focused on his past it kind of equals up to a bad dad. Rhaenyra was clearly his favorite just by virtue of always being the one he had for so long. They're royal so they get away with a lot, all of them and none of what they were stewed in did them any favors.
And even with Rhaenyra it seems like it was really only after her mother died that he start taking a more active role in her life.
@@islasullivan3463 In fact he made Rhaenyra heir because of the guilt of killing Aemma and to keep Daemon away from the throne. He did not declare her because she was worthy of being queen.
This is a bit of an unfair characterization of Viserys. He wanted desperately to avoid the situation they are in now and to do that he needed a son from Aemma. She understood and accepted it. He chose Rhaenyra as an heir because he was forced to choose and his only other choice was Daemon. Kings and queens do not generally closely raise their children anyway so they tend to neither be good or bad parents.
@@gunkulator1 He wanted a son from Aemma mainly bc he had prophetic dream of a son of his being crowned, and he was convinced that it would happen, and it did just not with Aemma.
Daemon may have been the original reason she was named heir but the guilt was definitely part of the reason he kept her as heir after Aegon was born.
And all the other parents on the show have scenes where they interact with their kids when they are older, especially Aemma and Alicent (who was not a good mother mainly due to her paranoia but she was at least trying to be). While Viserys only interacts with his sons when he has to, like questioning Aemond like a criminal, and he doesn't even try to comfort even though he just lost his eye.

The dragon Daemon is singing to is Vermithor The Bronze Fury. He was the dragon of the Old King Jaehaerys from Episode 1 and he is also the second largest dragon after Vhagar. He although isnt claiming him; Daemon is taming him and getting him ready for a new rider since he hasn’t been around people in a long time.
Yeah no-one has been riding him for at least almost 40 years I think
I hope we see Vermithor's girlfriend Silverwing, who dens near him in the caves; she was the dragon ridden by King Jaehaerys' sister-wife "Good Queen Alysanne".

I remember reading somewhere that Daemon is essentially in love with his brother and because he couldn't have him, he grooms the apple of said brother's eye only to find out that the person he loved didn't see him as an heir for those 9 years he was officially named because Viserys didn't share the prophecy with him.
And those saying she was naive, Rhaenyra was raised during a time of peace. She never expected to have to fight for her birthright because her father allowed her to make her own mistakes and clean some of them up after her. You could say there was the Targaryen ego of "well the realm rejected you but they won't reject me" in regards to Rhaenys but she was 15 then and even by episode 7 she had started seeing the writing on the wall. Hence marrying Daemon, bargaining with Rhaenys and making the Greens make the first move against a side that hadn't declared war (which was unfortunately killing an envoy/a Prince/her second born)
I'm here to support any and all crimes Rhaenyra commits next season!
I think that the only aging of characters will occur with some of the younger Targaryens - Rhaenyra's youngest three sons (little Aegon and Viserys, who were toddlers in episode 8, should, by the book's chronology, be about 9 and 6 years old, and Joffrey should be a bit older I think) and possibly Helaena's twins (who should be six years old, the one time they were shown they were two or three).
Maybe they plan to extend the war from the original 2 years to 4 years ? Maybe idk its just the kids need to be older because they play a part (joffrey and aegon 3 and maelor who doenst exist so far, for exemple)
Daemon doesn’t care if she is women and he does love her his own twisted way Daemon doesn’t care about being king Daemon has done everything to get his brother approve in that moment he realized his brother never trust him also Daemon deal with his emotions through violence
Arrax felt scared and could feel that Luke was scared and tried to defend them both, Vhagar is a war dragon and she could feel the hate and the antagonism from Aemond so that egged her on. Aemond is to blame since he gave chase and lost controll over Vhagar. Now he is cursed a Kinslayer

I never trusted Daemon, how people love Rhaenyra and Daemon together is beyond me…. He groomed her, manipulate her, and the one time she disagrees with him he calls her out publicly and chokes her……. Even if Rt and Alicent came to an agreement I find Daemon would still want to kill Alicent kids… hell I don’t even trust him not to kill Rt kids at this point.
Daemon is a cancer to Rhaenyra while Alicent cancer is Otto.
The episode is probably the best and worse of Rt. We saw how RT didn’t want war and the one time she disagreed with Daemon he immediately puts his hands on her.
We also see RT DELUSIONAL PRIVILEGE she just expected the Vale, Starks, n the Baratheons to side with her just because of a vow. She has spent the last 16 years not building alliances towards securing her reign or even knowing who her allies were .… n the last 6 years she wasn’t even governing the kingdom but stayed on an island isolating herself on vacation…..n she was SHOCKED people went against her.
I also don’t understand the hate for Aemond Luke took his eye, didn’t apologize to him n wasn’t even punished for it. Aemond hate for Luke is understandable in my opinion.

Alicent and Otto are the ones doing all the hard work but the thing is neither of them who will sit the throne is Aegon also ya’ll forget that the title given to the heir is PRINCE / PRINCESS OF DRAGONSTONE and heir to the Iron Throne (Dragonstone is the seat of Targaryen heirs)

What did rhaenyra do so horrible other than having kids with someone because her husband couldn't perform or act out as a teenager
When allicent is complicit in rhaenyra children fathers death and did nothing in the adtermath but keep larys in hee pocket for future dirt. And she went against the kings wishes to usurp the throne from rheanerya... because of that stress, caused rhaenyra to lose a baby girl and a son along with her father died. Team black ...
In medival times adultry was something that was seen as one of the worst crimes anyone could commit. Rhaenyra also in this show is way more lbtq+ california slay liberal. In the books she straight up looks down on Laenor for being gay (as people did in those times) She married him because she was forced to due to her foolish own actions then proceded to break medival law by fucking someone outside her marriage (which is worse for women as this leads to people not being able to confirm parentage leading to the exact situations seen in episode 8) and not really giving a fuck about her responsibilities as a medival woman or future queen. Its also highly questionable if king viserys even had the right to name her as his heir in contradiction with established law (salic law would be the real world equivalent). He was a weak king as Daemon said and much of what happens is due to his failures of puting sentimentality before the good of the realm. In reality he should have named Aegon heir or married Rhaenyra to Aegon. Rhaenyra is nothing but Saera 2.0 and a better king such as Jaehaerys would never havee let the dance of the dragons come to pass.
Yeah Aemond is a Pshycho but so is Daemon yet everyone loves him.

You could argue that Luke's dragon most likly felt lukes fair and was defending him that could be the reason why his dragon blew fire into Vhager .. which i presume that lukes dragon was with him since birth so they would have that bond .. unlike aemond and vhagar ( fyi mind the spelling of names )
Also Arrax and Luke are young it was self defence. I don't know what Aemond could have possibly expected with chasing them with his war dragon.

Rheanyra was being naive this whole episode . Ironically daemon was right all along, he knows Otto better then anyone and knows this peace treaty won’t last . He loved his brother but hated the way he ruled and he was starting to see that trend within rheanyra once again. Daemon wouldn’t have allowed alicent and Otto to get away with how much they did and let it go this far when visery was king . Good person but a bad king.
It wasn't because of Otto that the peace didn't last. To the contrary, Otto made the trip to Dragonstone to parley with RT. If all he wanted was war he wouldn't have bothered and put his life in very real danger. It was because of hotheads like Daemon and Aemond that things got out of control.

How does the girl not understand why aemond would want justice for having his eye cut out? You really expect him to just go by without any resentment for it for the rest of his life? Yet you root for daemon and he's a man child with anger issues. Also the baratheons still side with the greens because luke didn't die under his roof. This girl is just too emotional and thinks the blacks have some moral highground when daemon literally killed his first wife.
Well .. clearly you are a green supporter .. but the thing is what aemond said " Do not morn for me mother, I may of lost an eye, but i gained a dragon " so basically it was dealt with then thats on the same principle of for an example of you owing 1000 Dollars to someone and they say ohh give me 500 dollar's and call it there and a few years later the person coming back to you and say you owe me 1000 dollars pay it now.. as for daemon i don't believe it was childhood issues .. daemon could see that the council was using his brother and daemon only wanted to protect him and be his hand like in the first episode and there's alot more example's and as for his wife he most likely didn't want her but forced to like Rhaegar was told to marry elia but rhaegar loved leana Stark ...
Aemond had a right to resent Luke for the loss of his eye. He didn't have the right to force his nephew to surrender and be mutilated while they were both functioning as envoys (envoys, or messengers, are supposed to be spared any violence, it's a Westerosi tradition). Aemond also didn't have the right to murder Luke. And Aemond was totally responsible for Luke's death, so he's a murderer.
Also thank Luke for giving Aemond his only personality trait. Secondly In my opinion they were all wrong in the fight scene between the kids. Death should not be the answer to losing an eye like come on.
@@joshuasutton355 It's more on the level of everyone else gets a dog but you only get one if you lose an eye, it's inherently unfair as no one else had to exchange a body part to get a dog. It's very clear that Aemond was just saying that it's alright bc he saw that his mother going off the deep end and someone needed to prevent the situation from escalating and it sure wasn't going to be any of the adults.
Daemon probably did see that in Otto at least, Daemon also is a hothead and wouldn't have made for a good hand, he calls everyone not of Valeryan blood, Daemon also attacked a messenger for giving him news that he didn't like so I think we can safely say yes he does have some anger issues, his quote could literally be "Violence isn't the answer, it's the question and the answer is yes".
Daemon not liking his wife doesn't excuse him murdering her so he can be with Rheanyra. Also Rheagar didn't love Lyanna, he wanted a third child bc he believed he needed to in order to fulfill the prophecy of the prince that was promised and having a second baby almost killed Elia, so he chose and groomed Lyanna to have the third child.
F the greens and i can’t wait for karma to hit them especially Otto , aegon , aemond , criston cole and the rest of the traitors who went against the kings wishes and committed treason, rhaenrya deserved so much better in this episode especially after hearing not only she lost her mother, brother, father, the iron throne , alicent betraying her once again, her still born daughter, her sweet boy Luke all in a snap of a short time while trying to stay rational in all of this Which I can never imagined what that must feel like cause me I would’ve been lost my mind! Damon was dead wrong for leaving her during the labor scene but I also understand why he did that because of his fears again of having to choose for his wife if something goes wrong but still the fact that rhaenrya was calling for him in agony😢💔😭 the choking scene was so unnecessary but I could see daemon doing something like that but still was too much and you don’t do that to someone you love and always vowed to protect your love ones but I get his frustration because it goes to show that viserys never saw him as the true heir in the first place since he never told him about the dream which is very important but still he was dead wrong for that but my girl rhaenrya was laughing in his face had me gagged lol but yet it’s like the writers cut all the good quality’s from him anyways even if you don’t like him but damn💀😅 anyways cyclops aemond thought it was funny to chase his nephew with a 140 year war dragon who didn’t see this as a game and has been doing this for decades but it goes to show his bond is not that great with vhagar since she didn’t wanna serve him after what Luke’s dragon “ arrax” who was a scared baby dragon being cornered by a huge dragon! Remember dragons can feel what their riders can feel so vhagar felt aemonds impulsive and resentment while arraxs felt lukes fear and uneasiness the entire time which is why the dragons ended up doing their own thing and didn’t listen to either one of their riders which is all aemonds fault who started it with the torment, another example is that during the birth scene with rhaenrya where you see glimpses of syrax screeching like she’s in pain which she did because syrax felt rhaenrya’s pain that whole time which was so heartbreaking to watch💔🥺☹️ and it’s the same with daemon with caraxes or dany with her dragons, I blame viserys for all of this and Otto and now alicent is gonna poop her green dress after hearing her favorite child acted out of impulse and started the full war and i can’t wait for queen rhaenrya to get they ass cause she was being too patient after everything they did to her, I’m rocking with her to the very end regardless of war crimes she commits so once aging f the greens cause it’s a wrap for them!see y’all in season 2 and great reactions😂😭🔥😤
