I work for PayPal, i can say everything youre saying is 1000% accurate. The culture here is unmatched. I can also say ive met some very like minded people and forever freiends.
I'm guessing they invested the gains from initial videos towards researchers, writers, editors, and equipment. Like how Linus and most every successful long standing youtubers did.
Stay interested the whole time, probably because I was curious about the story but can't deny the production quality, especially the editing. Thank everyone who got involved, fantastic job!
I love how you can watch your docus without experiencing the snooze fest of normal documentaries. While endless interviews and silent panning shots of locations where something happened, might give the traditional docus the feeling of credibility, I like this way better. It's fully packed with interesting information that has me intently sitting at my computer and moving ever closer to the screen, trying to soak everything up. Please keep this up and grow - I want way more content in this format. Edit: I wanted to say, that this feels like the future of journalism, but didnt want to sound like i was overly exaggerating. Well it's how I truly feel and anyone who doesn't like me sounding like a fanboy, can shove it. You deserve to know that at least one little guy in Germany really likes what you are doing.
Really good format and story telling! Thank you. Specially thank you for not sacrificing on the knowledge the videos brings across while increasing the entertainment factor.
Is that even true? For every Vitalik Buterin or Dylan Field or Austin Russell, there was dozens of fellowship winners who haven't done anything notable. If you gave nearly 300 qualified people $100k, you'd expect a lot of them to do well regardless of whatever culture you're trying to foster.
My opinion: Hey, why are we watching the Godfather in this? Not only you're giving off spoilers for people who haven't watched it yet, but i think you should show us the people we are talking about, scenes of them, pictures of them with their teams, companies, etc... I hope this helps you brother
I loved it. I felt like I was watching a movie all this time. Also thank you for being so straight forward. Most of us get lost into this dilemma that if we work hard we will be successful. And clearly this paypal mafia would seem ideal candidates to follow for such kind of motivation. But media often hides the fact that these successful people got a head start at the beginning which many of us won't be able to. I am not discouraging people to pursue their dream but I think it's also important to be rational and see things through all the way before making a big decision like quitting a job and starting a company.
On the one hand you criticize the PayPal Mafia for not being open to the importance of diversity, and on the other you acknowledge that one of them invested in your startup.
I am so impressed.. this is high quality content.. (make the babies wait for it - make sure you're all getting good sleep!!) absolutely fantastic, beautiful filming, impressive info collection and redistribution... I LOVE WHAT YOUR TEAM DOES. Keep up the great analytical entertainment work - this is quality.
4:44 where did you get that information? Germany and many other European countries have been moving away from PayPal for so long that it is actually hard to find an EU based shop that accepts it. The American versions of the sites still accept it but the European versions rarely do, instead relying on direct transfer or credit cards.
It drives me crazy that what he said isn't the exactly same as the CC. As an audience from non-English speaking country, it was hard to keep track of what the guy is showing and talking with the current CC
Liked the the dramatized format, and the répertoire footage. Didn't really like the sort of lack of precise information. How much money do this people move today? How many pivoting have they supported? Is their "mafia" culture part of bigger framework that has a name and someone studying it?
Love your deep dives about diff industries and company culture! This and the behind the scenes fyre festival vid got me hooked on your channel :D Hope you guys make it big here!
I work with a programmer who used to work at paypal before the Musk takeover, and he 100% hates him with a burning passion So yea, pretty much the "leftovers" of paypal are the kind of people you come across in startups
@@islamandchristianityhater5713 A friend of mine went to college with Martin Eberhard. (Eberhard is one of the real co-founders of Tesla, Musk was not the founder). No hate, this is just very weird, over the top and "click baity"....the click bait part is at least reasonable to some extent, but the other stuff is quite repulsive unlike the purely informative videos that y'all used to make
Love your content and the intro was super sick, but the speedy transitions and compilations of movie scenes made it harder for me to focus on what was actually being said, I prefer much more the emphasising there is to the content when some quotes are added and pictures/scenes of the actual people being talked about. Just my two cents. Keep up the amazing work!
Wow 33 people. One of them should write your prompt cards slightly bigger and directly behind the camera to make it look like you are looking at the camera and not to the side!
This was absolutely great!! I actually didn't like waiting for it for whole one day, but now I think it's worth it. Also thank you for uploading this video.
I think paypal monopolizes much of ecommerce that rendered small sellers limited business growth. If you have no paypal as payment option, it will be hard for you to sell. If paypal suspended your account for no reason, you can no longer do your business.
alot of this is covered in great depth in peter thiel's book "zero to one" and I highly recommend it, its a very vgood book to read especially if your into this kinda stuff
The platform for founders to scale their startup ► slidebean.com/?
Ur edits are good but your presentation and delivery is pretty bad

and you're a bloke.
Are you woking as a software Engineer there ?
Have they ever seized your paycheck for voicing your opinions, opinions that they might define as misinformation?
All I have to say is your security and customer service is utter and complete garbage
Living the dream. Good for you, dude. I mean that. Hope it's still going well.
Caya talks about the Paypal Mafia while dressed as a detective. The production value is getting even higher. Great video
From Hollywood, I love the production value in this piece. Very well done Caya and the entire team. Very impressive.
The jump in quality and story here is amazing. How did you make the step up?
I'm guessing they invested the gains from initial videos towards researchers, writers, editors, and equipment.
Like how Linus and most every successful long standing youtubers did.
Continuous improvement
One of my favourite auto channel appears in of my favourite business/entrepreneur channel, cheers both to Driver61 and Slidebean 🍻
Damn, the video quality has improved a lot. You're reaching the quality of Netflix documentaries XD. Congrats btw.
He isn’t reaching he is there I watch more of this than Netflix 🗑
Amazing video: good content, great editing and great narrative
Super impressive!
Half of it was shots from a well known Hollywood movie.
Thank you Caya and Slidebean team. You inspired me to start my own SaaS company and it is growing faster that I imagined. This channel is a gem.
Stay interested the whole time, probably because I was curious about the story but can't deny the production quality, especially the editing. Thank everyone who got involved, fantastic job!
Million subscribers goal? 😂 it's chips for such good channel! Love it thank you guys
Help us get there? 🥺
As in... My thought too. With the class of content dished out, should be clocking 10m already.
And a year later they're a third of that, whilst dozens of other channels have gone from nothing to a million in the same time :p
A shame, algorithm is a cruel thing
I come back over and over again to just watch these impossiby great intro which is one of the best in the history of educational UA-cam.
The eloquent communication style and the easy-on-the-eyes are the main trick.
Content quality has taken a HUGE jump in the last couple of Company Forensics videos....
gg
You guy's can make a movie with lowest budget out there ,hah! a cult classic it would be.
Imagine if it was high budget
be it classic cult it is not because
He went to film school that’s why
Plot Twist:
Caya is secretly a member of the FBI and is currently interrogating us about Paypal.
*Please don't arrest me, CEO of Slidebean.*
Now you know how the crew felt when we filmed it 😬🕵️♀️
I was working. Hard. And then this came in my notifications
This video should be all over the internet
Share it around 😉
You should also cover flipkart mafia who build unicorns like udaan, cult fit ,Groww
that's actually ex Amazon employees mafia....lol 😂
Small fries
Though he might make video on harshad mehta
Jesus. I swear I only knew about the PayPal Mafia, but this? You took it waaaaay another level. This is awesome.

This is a next level production
This content format has become brilliant
Really good format and story telling! Thank you. Specially thank you for not sacrificing on the knowledge the videos brings across while increasing the entertainment factor.
That intro 😳 I wasn't sure if I was watching a Slidebean video or a new thriller show on Netflix haha! Definitely very engaging!
your channel is the business model we need but don't deserve
the color grading, the pictures, the background -> as if caya was a fbi agent 😳

Great format and great insight into the workings of PayPal.
Glad you enjoyed it!
the way he explained each member and showed us the photo looks like we're about to ambush them lol
FFS he did not "build" Tesla, he bought into it and insisted he be known as a founder
He did take it from one concept car to the most valuable car company in the world tho. So even though he wasnt a founder he kinda built it.
The quality is mind blowing!
Great content, extremely well done
Oooooh production value on this!!! *chef's kiss*
