This was just beautiful to watch!! I love Jay dilla and slum village!! I found slum village and Dilla in my 20’s from Common’s “like water for chocolate” and Fantastic volume 2 album!! I had both albums stuck on reply for a long time!! Wish he was still here today! I cried so much when I found out he died 😢listening to his music ever since always makes me so emotional…can’t get through a listening session of Dillas music without crying. and watching videos about him makes me happy yet so sad😢😢 RIP Jay Dilla💕
Man, I loved Dilla's music before I knew who he was. I just gravitated to his sound on Busta's albums, Pharcyde, Janet Jackson, etc. In 2000 my best friend brought me a tape that he got in france and it was all Dilla. I was blown away. And that became my inspiration for the next 20 years.
DILLA HADN'T REALLY HIT ME UNTIL "DONUTS" DROPPED, AND THEN IT HIT ME THAT THIS DUDE IS REALLY FUCKIN' NICE! I KNEW OF HIM AWHILE AGO LONG BEFORE STONES THROW. BUT IT DIDN'T TAKE UNTIL I HEARD THE DONUTS THAT I KNEW HOW GIFTED THAT CAT TRULY WAS....I MISS THAT DUDE...HE WOULD'VE BODIED A LOT OF CATS THAT THINK THEY KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT MUSIC AND IT'S IN'S AND OUT'S AND WHAT MUSIC TRULY CARRIES TO A LOT OF PEOPLE. DONUTS IS JUST TRUE CRAFTSMANSHIP, SAMPLE FLIPS LIKE CRAZY AND BROUGHT SOME RECORDS TO LIGHT FOR ME PERSONALLY. WHEN DONUTS DROPPED I KNEW I HAD TO REALLY LISTEN TO THE MUSIC I WAS PURCHASING AND NOT JUST BUY SHIT TO SAMPLE, BUT BUY MUSIC FOR WHAT THE ALBUM ACTUALLY SOUNDS LIKE FROM BEGINNING TO END......THANK YOU DILLA AND MADLIB.....SALUTE.
He's talking about when sampling Stereo, if vocals are on the left or right mono. You can solo the left or the right when sampling. it mutes the other stuff on the other channel
I KNEW 9th was gonna call for Claire/Players, that's one of the craziest ones. Here's a youtube clip of someone explaining the sample I saw years ago and probably replayed 20 times ua-cam.com/video/Nh3Si9V1lJI/v-deo.html (There used to be speech bubbles on the cover discussing the song, but youtube seem to have killed that feature unfortunately) This is some superhuman thinking he was doing pretty much all the time. Magic.

ua-cam.com/video/u8NlnD7W8SU/v-deo.html think he's talking about phase cancellation
