i am a Robert Gordon fan for over 35 years at the pleasure of meeting him about 8 years ago and upstate New York and I will love him till the day I die one of the most amazing voices ever best!! He is the rockabilly king
Only got to see Robert Gordon once and it was for free at the Rodeo Bar in NYC in the 90s. Good times. Now the Rev. I've seen dozens of times all over the country, starting at a bar across from Slim's in SF that I can't remember the name now. Damn
rodrigo suarez Here is part of another concert I shot. The common link is both Bryan Ferry and Robert Gordon worked with Chris Spedding.ua-cam.com/video/To6tmli7E8U/v-deo.html
Thanks for this !!! I first met RG & Link Wray in 1977 when they were promoting the 1st Private Stock album (that album literally changed my life-I sing rockabilly because of that record & RG).. Met RG again in 2002 at a rockabilly fest hosted by a casino in Green Bay WI There was (and hopefully still is) a clip of Robert doing "Red Hot" with the late Billy Lee Riley at that show on UA-cam. That performance was HOT !!(I chatted with Billy Lee Riley after that performance)
awesome. love Bobby G, seen him live twice. never seen the Rev, but am a fan of him as well, was listening to "galaxy 500" in the car today actually. this pairing works. the Rev's tone and playing here reminds me of former Gordon sideman (and guitar legend) Link Wray. if it wasn't for Robert Gordon and the Cramps I would never have been listening enough to deiscover the Rev, the Meteors, Demented Are Go, Southern Culture on the Skids, and lots of other good shit... not to mention working backwards to listen to great music from the 50's and 60's.
I would say it's interesting to notice how Robert Gordon's voice has changed over the years: 70s real raspy; 80s and 90s very much a crooner; now a country Baritone/Bass.
Brilliant guitarist - farewell Robert, and thank you
So sad....He will live on forever Robert did play with some of the best- Danny Gatton, Chris Spedding and of course Link Wray

I've been Robert Gordon fan for since 1978 and forever. I've seen him many times in Finland and he's certainly one of the best...

Great voice and performer. But wouldnt want to be in a band with him.
Rockabilly.....It's essence true rebellion....Unfortunately Mr. Gordon can't hold a flame here to what he was .
