I was in the Hole in the Wall in Austin some time in the early 90s, and he was playing.. maybe 5 people in the audience. I was in total awe of his playing.. When his set finished, he sat down at a table next to mine, and I talked to him about his style and playing for 10-15 minutes.. Such a gracious dude.
Okay, I'm jealous. I was in college in the early 90s, saw them live in some dive bar in ... heck, I can't remember, maybe Louisville, KY? ... Anyway, to this day I still listen to a cassette I have of The Rev, my favorite song might be "The Longest Bridge in the World," though ... uh, he changed the lyrics some. ;-)
Just saw him play at Long Beach last weekend and he still rips. Talked to him after the show and he was incredibly kind. When he played the Ace of Spades a room full of forty year olds broke into a mosh and it was something special. 10/10 go see him if you can
I'm torn between the flaming jungles of Nam' in the 60's... Rolling monster tubes on the beaches of Hawaii in the 70's... bombing downhill on a skateboard in the 80's... And toppling the Soviet Union in the 90's off one song.
Damn...I live in Long Beach n missed that show. Didn't even hear about it. Thanks for letting me know how I messed up. Looking to see him in Idaho cooming up where my sis lives. A visit n a show. Yeah!
If the mixer would turn up the mic volume, the Rev wouldn't have to shove it up his nose to be heard! LOL Na, but seriously, that's a damn good tribute to The Great Lemmy. Well done Reverend.
I've met Jimbo a dozen times at the Tralf in Buffalo but only met Jim twice. Mike from Agent Orange was super cool. Necromantix was super cool and the 5,6,7,8's hung out with us in the crowd after their set... Never had so much fun than at Rev's shows..
First time I saw the Rev was opening for the Ramones in ‘87. Didn’t care for it. Now I’ve seen them more than any other band. Older and wiser. Saw them with Motörhead as a double bill once. Fantastic!
There’s a local band near me that played one of the worst and one of the best shows I’ve seen. Just different nights (and different levels of alcohol consumption.)
I met Lemmy ang spoke with him for an hour at a topless bar near The Celebrity Theater in Anaslime CA I recomended backstage when he said There must be someplace around here better than this going on. I saw th 14 or so others shrug their shoulders and stepped over to him and recomended Fritz 2 he said Soubds Good Lets Go. We drank a few bourbon and Cokes. Not Jack and Coke I asked. No Jacks whiskey Bourbonhe said. Jack and Coke is a drink I like and learned later in places he went they noe calll a Jack and Coke A LEMMY . He was a great man and musician who loved his fans for keeping him doing what he loved and did untill the end. RIP IAN FRASER ! I believe he is in the better place !
My husband and I are sitting here watching the episode of Bitchin' Rides you are on. You mentioned your band, so I looked you up. And here I am rockin' out with you to one of my favorite classics! Great cover!! 😎👊
Met these boys at a signing a few years ago. Rev and Jimbo were class acts and spent time with everyone, Churilla looked at the pickguard I brought to have the guys sign and said, "I play drums, are you sure you want me to sign this". I looked at him, a bit off guard and said, "you are in the band aren't you? I hope you do sign it". I've seen them many times before and since then but I love the honest and down to Earth way these guys are. Genuine people playing great music. I'll never sell it. It's on my daily player guitar and some of the signatures have worn off a little bit, but it's imbued with greatness and it makes me play better because of these dudes and thinking of that solid, genuine interaction. Truly an interesting, fun and inspiring group.
.I would much rather hear a rockabilly band do a metal cover, or a metal band do a rockabilly cover.....What's special about a metal band doing another metal song?....BTW....that drummer is solid
The Rev did a rendition of the Johnny Quest theme/Stop that Pigeon for a collection of Saturday morning cartoon themes ( bear with me ). The beginning of “Ace of Spades” ALWAYS brings that little medley from that obscure record to mind! Amazing musician!
That was the song that let me know who Reverand was!!! Saturday Morning Cartoon Soundtrack was the title of the album i believe. Stop That Pigeon is my favorite track!! It's just 2 minutes of absolute joy!! If you aren't smiling after that, you need help lol Sublime's version of Hong Kong Fooey was a close second.
NICE!!! I love it when a musician makes a song their own but they don't stray too far from the original. I've heard some pretty awful covers of this song, but RHH did just an amazing job covering this. 👍😎👍
Reverend I went to your show in San Pedro CA it was ZGREAT The Public gets what they deserve not what they demand unless we all decideto be a buisness not a band. Thats something I told Lemmy when talking with him at Fritz 2 It is from the zband Agent Orange I met st The Orange Bowl skateboardingpool Great music Rev
dude... . this was a TERRIBLE cover of that song..... jeez, they completely butchered it. thats probably why Lemmy refused to do it with them. they were playing it like they were pretending to be Motorhead, instead of actually doing a cover of the song where they put their own style to it. complete failure.
It’s a great cover of a great song, but seriously what TF is this cameraman doing with the zoom on one dude for the entire song! It would be nice to see that guitar playing, that bass slappin’, those rockin’ drums! Show the whole band dude!
who else heard of them watching beavis and butthead in middle school. then i found them on you tube way back in the 2000's when were cave painting our favorite bands!
I found this band from listening to Sturgill Simpson and billy Strings, I love Ween, Zappa, claypool, I discovered this band today while sleeping and the fucking Devil told me I wanted Rockabilly, what is it really? Now I’m living on the moon by myself and just wish somebody could understand this Genre,! Help...
....He drinks Pabst . Vans Warped Tour . Raining stray cats and dogs . After Concert he was Laid-back signing everyone that just happen to seek shelter....I said to him "Do you know , I have a bunch of Friends that turned me on to you" I ran through the Crowd looking for them . Found them , The kids were so thankful . They got to talk with him , Until the rain stopped and Mickey started singing "Bales of Cocaine" . In front of James Heath ....
Damn, man. Badass. That was a killer band doing an excellent and most worthy cover of an incredible song. Never thought someone with a string tie could be so fucking cool.
Seen these guys play with the misfits… guy on the chelo threw it like 5 feet in the air caught and literally was slapping the shit out of it …… incredible… need to see for yourself
Check a gear rundown for the Rev, he uses a device that adds a layer to vocals for some depth and to save his vocal chords. Gives a slight delay/echo to his “clean” vocal. Fair play imho.

I saw him at a dive in Austin in the late 90s but the place was packed. Small bar but standing room only
Now you know the origins of psycho Billy freakout
O shit i hear it!!!!!
I remember when these guys opened for Motörhead a while back.
👍👍👍👍👍
He should pair up w Junior Brown
who is the young guy in the suit in the background of this video?
Matt Jordan, piano player
Too many times to count. RHH Kick Bum-Bum!
When hipsters murder the greatest rock song ever written… ughh
The Rev doesn't just rock. He's also a great storyteller. What an unappreciated legend.
Discovered rev by a beavis n butthead vid. Dayum those two dummies had that #$it going on
We appreciate him just fine
By most, yes. But I've been appreciating him since the early 1990's. Solid Gold!
@@puckstevo hey butthead: What dumass?
I get older and the Stories get better. 😊

Jim Heath is a rock god. Don't care what anyone says.
a rock'n'roller
thats true
I didn’t realize there actually were people who say he’s not!?!? (Idiots)

Facts
This dude is a powerhouse. One of the most energetic performers I've ever watched. Good stuff.
with the Paladins of course . Both Legends of rockabilly
If the mixer would turn up the mic volume, the Rev wouldn't have to shove it up his nose to be heard! LOL
Na, but seriously, that's a damn good tribute to The Great Lemmy. Well done Reverend.
Spot on. The mic level was fine during his introduction - what happened? They picked up the audience better than the Rev!
huge Motörhead fan here and I respect this greatly. Dude nailed that solo and did Fast Eddie justice too
FIRE,...YOUR MIC TECH.
So cool that he played Fast Eddie Clarke's original solo on this. Respect!
I meet him a couple of years ago. Awesome dude and a gentleman.
Greenroom Hang Rev n Mike Dillon Howling Wolf NOLA last time they were here
Likewise. Such a badass, and never acts the "badass".
It took me more than 25 yrs to meet him. What a nice guy. A true legend

God this was the perfect cover.
I had no idea Ace Of Spades could somehow sound better in Rev's style.
Zero vocals in the mix 🤷🏼♂️
It doesn't.
I'm not a conspiracy guy or anything but have you ever seen the Rev. and James Hetfield in the same place at the same time?????\
Nor have I seen The Rev with Jim Bakker!
Ha ha ! I'm a Roadie I'm met them both and that is a crazy call my brother 😆 wow.
I have seen a pic of them together.
I've been saying this for year!!!
Now that's a conspiracy theory I could get behind!
I saw them open up for Motorhead along with Nashville Pussy in Toronto at a fairly small venue and it's one of the greatest memories of my life. 🥃🍻🇨🇦🤘
The Ace of Psychobilly: Jim Heath🔥👍

I've seen them live so many times. Was front row being crushed into a chain link fence at the last Fry Street fair in Denton,TX. So much fun!
Used to work at a rehearsal studio , met Jim and Jimbo and Scott, three nicest and genuine musicians and people I ever met 👍
It's a..... It's a..... It's a Ace of freak out!!!!!! 😭 😭
Seeing them play Ace of Spades at the Ace of Spades was a great song to send everyone packing. Always a great show and never disappointed with RHH
These guys should do a cover of "Dance" by Motorhead (from Ace of Spades album). It really fits the Rockabilly/swing sound style.
My husband and I are sitting here watching the episode of Bitchin' Rides you are on. You mentioned your band, so I looked you up. And here I am rockin' out with you to one of my favorite classics! Great cover!! 😎👊

For the fucking Lemmy! Great Rev!
thank you =)
Any musician worth a toss tips his hat to THE Reverend!!!
It's almost like the song was written for them to play.
The cameraman must have had his head up his butt, back it up so we can see him play!

Ace of Spades sounds awesome as a rockabilly/psychobilly song…
Remembering a good friend along with a LEGEND with THIS jAm. Ty Rev..
Jello Biafra sold his soul.
Even faster than Motörhead!
Check out the Battalion of Saints version, it's excellent.
They played faster live though lol
This is b4 they start......
HOLY SHIT!!!!!
My hometown! This dude is so legit it’s ridiculous. The Rev!
nice camera work, i think i was here :)
Reverend Horton Heat Kicks ass. …..obviously.

Sounds good. Interesting choice of camera placement.
the Rev. is rocking the Ed Gein look...
A fave band! Seen RHH 14 times and hopefully more! Woot!
Worst mixing ever, you can't even hear him.
Vocals should be louder than the music on AOS
LEGENDARY!

“… and don’t forget the joker!” R.I.P. my brother Steve, my metal mentor.
A true tribute.
"Its right on to be right on"
Lean in and put your nose right on that mic, if you dare.
Jesus whats this? The whisper version, shite
Seen the live twice in Lex, Ky. Awesome both times
TRHH playing this is exactly what I needed.
Most of these videos of TRHH playing seem to have his mic way to low and hard to hear his vocals or make out the lyrics.
Which is really a shame !
i love this reverend!
The Reverend blesses Lemmy.
Killer !!
Saw him about a month ago, killer show, played this cover then too
You must be in VA. Saw them end of July as well. Great show!
@@XenoHosting OH actually! That show must of been right before or right after, he played right across the river from me in KY

what a fk'n legend.
Brilliant! Just a fantastic cover. Gotta love the Rev.
I’d like to hear Messer Chups cover this tune.
Just wish the vocals were brought up in the mix just a little more
Yeah I could barely hear him

It's all the same to me. Ace out 🇺🇸👊🌹🐾🛩️🍸

Is it just me or does it look like he’s lip syncing? Just saying and still loving the reverend and lemmyyyyyyyyy last l
Check a gear rundown for the Rev, he uses a device that adds a layer to vocals for some depth and to save his vocal chords. Gives a slight delay/echo to his “clean” vocal. Fair play imho.
its sad i dont have any good mic... so sound quality is not best
O V Wright is the original of this jam
Another proof that Motörhead was a Rock'n'Roll band, not a metal one !
RIP Lemmy, Philthy and Eddie ! Miss you forever ! ♠️
Holy Crap! Perfect!
Great cover!!! Wish his vocals were louder. But, there's probably at least 20 other Motörhead songs as good as Ace of Spades.
