what V.I.L.E villains did to Carmen Sandiego's mind and head is totally unforgivable, it is indeed their fault that they deceived and tricked her into hurting her adoptive parent Shadowsan, her guy Crackle/Graham Calloway and most of her allies, Zack, Julia Argent, and Chase Devineaux, but at least Ivy and Player are the only ones that did not get hurt, however, Shadowsan showed a matryoshka doll to Carmen Sandiego so that she can remember her memories completely, her empathy and senses have came back to her, all thanks to her adoptive parent Shadowsan.
Carmen didn't have the opportunity to hurt Player because she never visited his house and they only met once, at a fast food restaurant. Plus, it's wonderful how Shadowsan took care of Carmen. He was like the father she never had ❤
In a way, this is fitting. Carmen has been a villain for most of the franchise, just as a thief with a heart, and she was the most succesful and consistent villain. Carmen being the final boss explores what kind of thief would Carmen be like if she was evil.
